Influence of La-dopant on the Material Characteristics and Supercapacitive Performance of MnO_2 Electrodes

Manganese dioxide was synthesized by electrodeposition method with Mn （CH3COO）24H2O as a raw material. La（NO3）3？6H2O was doped in electroyte during the preparing process to improve the performance of MnO2 electrodes. The micrographs, crystal structure and element content of electrodes were analyzed by SEM, XRD and atomic absorption spectroscopy, respectively. It is found that the La content ratio in the dioxide can be easily controlled by adjusting the composition of the plating solution. Appropriate amount of doped La can increase the surface area of Mn/La materials, resulting in the supercapacitive behavior enhancement. Electrochemical tests show that the specific capacitance is significantely increased from 198.72 F？g-1 to 276.60 F？g-1 by La-doping.

BACKGROUND Cystatin C(CysC)is a cysteine protease inhibitor involved in proteins catabolism and plays an essential role in human vascular *** may also increase the risk of aortic stenosis(AS),but limited studies have reported on this *** study aimed to investigate if elevated serum CysC levels are associated with hemodynamically significant *** Serum CysC levels were estimated in 4,791 participants,samples were collected in 1990−*** study popula-tion was divided into quintile ***-up continued in 2011-2013 when participants returned for echocardiography *** of aortic valve disease(AVD)was ascertained by Doppler echocardiography through the end of *** defined in hemodynamic progression was assessed and classified as aortic sclerosis,mild stenosis,and moderate-to-severe *** Overall,a total of 4,791 participants(mean age:54.8±5.0 years,females:57.6%,blacks:8.2%)were included in this *** a follow-up of 21 years,we identified 736 cases(15.4%)of aortic sclerosis,194 cases(4.0%)of mild stenosis,and 42 cases(0.7%)of moderate-to-severe *** with serum CysC levels within individual quintile groups,the odds ratio(OR)was per standard deviation associated with an increased incidence of AVD(OR=1.15,95%CI:1.05−1.26,P=0.002).CONCLUSIONS In this large population-based study,an increased serum CysC levels is independently associated with the incidence of hemodynamically significant ***,this association appears not to extend to patients with extremely high serum CysC levels and necessitate further investigation.

Nine samples of suspended matter at the surface or bottom and 34 elements in 20 samples of substrate sediment have been used in the neutron activation analyses. Authors study sediment and suspended matter movement by using the method of element geochemistry, and conclude through synthetic analysis and processing that the movement direction of suspended matter and substrate sediment tends to converge on the central area.

Background:Aberrant expression of RNA-binding proteins(RBPs)has been linked to a variety of diseases,including hematological disorders,cardiovascular diseases,and multiple types of *** nuclear ribonucleoprotein C(HNRNPC),a member belonging to the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein(hnRNP)family,plays a pivotal role in nucleic acid *** studies have underscored the significance of HNRNPC in tumorigenesis;however,its specific role in malignant tumor progression remains inadequately ***:We leveraged publicly available databases,including The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA),to explore the potential involvement of HNRNPC across various ***,we performed experimental validation studies focused on liver ***:Our analysis revealed that HNRNPC is overexpressed in a wide range of common malignancies,including liver and lung cancers,and is strongly linked to unfavorable ***,HNRNPC was observed to be closely linked to tumor *** immune checkpoint analysis and immune cell infiltration assessment,HNRNPC emerged as a potential target for modulating tumor ***,silencing of HNRNPC markedly inhibited the proliferation,metastasis,and infiltration of liver cancer ***:In summary,our findings highlight HNRNPC as a prognostic marker in various cancers,including liver cancer,and suggest its involvement in shaping the tumor immune *** insights offer potential avenues for improving clinical outcomes in tumors with elevated HNRNPC expression,particularly through immunotherapeutic strategies.

In biological neural systems, noise is ubiquitous but does not affect the correct decisions made in the complex cognitive ***-making in biological neural system is typically achieved by accumulating input information over a period of *** by recent developments in neurosciences, we design a decision-making module based on spintronic devices, utilizing superparamagnetic tunnel junctions as artificial neurons. The feasibility of this decision-making module is verified through circuit simulations. Taking a multi-layer perceptron as an example, the module significantly improves the accuracy of the perceptron in the handwritten digit recognition task. Furthermore, the spintronic decision-making module offers advantages over the conventional pooling methods, such as adaptive decision time, high performance and the absence of analog-to-digital conversion. The decision-making module is flexible to be integrated into artificial neural networks and provides a general yet effective solution to enhance performance against device noise.

Catalyst–support interaction plays a crucial role in improving the catalytic activity of oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Here we modulate the catalyst–support interaction in polyaniline-supported Ni_(3)Fe oxide(Ni_(3)Fe oxide/PANI)with a robust hetero-interface,which significantly improves oxygen evolution activities with an overpotential of 270 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)and specific activity of 2.08 mA cm_(ECSA)^(-2)at overpotential of 300 mV,3.84-fold that of Ni_(3)Fe *** is revealed that the catalyst–support interaction between Ni_(3)Fe oxide and PANI support enhances the Ni–O covalency via the interfacial Ni–N bond,thus promoting the charge and mass transfer on Ni_(3)Fe *** the excellent activity and stability,rechargeable Zn-air batteries with optimum Ni_(3)Fe oxide/PANI are assembled,delivering a low charge voltage of 1.95 V to cycle for 400 h at 10 mA cm^(-2).The regulation of the effect of catalyst–support interaction on catalytic activity provides new possibilities for the future design of highly efficient OER catalysts.

Subretinal fibrosis is the end-stage sequelae of neovascular age-related macular *** causes local damage to photoreceptors,retinal pigment epithelium,and choroidal vessels,which leads to permanent central vision loss of patients with neovascular age-related macular *** pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis is complex,and the underlying mechanisms are largely ***,there are no effective treatment options.A thorough understanding of the pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis and its related mechanisms is important to elucidate its complications and explore potential *** current article reviews several aspects of subretinal fibrosis,including the current understanding on the relationship between neovascular age-related macular degeneration and subretinal fibrosis;multimodal imaging techniques for subretinal fibrosis;animal models for studying subretinal fibrosis;cellular and non-cellular constituents of subretinal fibrosis;pathophysiological mechanisms involved in subretinal fibrosis,such as aging,infiltration of macrophages,different sources of mesenchymal transition to myofibroblast,and activation of complement system and immune cells;and several key molecules and signaling pathways participating in the pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis,such as vascular endothelial growth factor,connective tissue growth factor,fibroblast growth factor 2,platelet-derived growth factor and platelet-derived growth factor receptor-β,transforming growth factor-βsignaling pathway,Wnt signaling pathway,and the axis of heat shock protein 70-Toll-like receptors 2/*** review will improve the understanding of the pathogenesis of subretinal fibrosis,allow the discovery of molecular targets,and explore potential treatments for the management of subretinal fibrosis.

We rethink the segment anything model(SAM) and propose a novel multiprompt network called COMPrompter for camouflaged object detection(COD). SAM has zero-shot generalization ability beyond other models and can provide an ideal framework for COD. Our network aims to enhance the single prompt strategy in SAM to a multiprompt strategy. To achieve this, we propose an edge gradient extraction module, which generates a mask containing gradient information regarding the boundaries of camouflaged objects. This gradient mask is then used as a novel boundary prompt, enhancing the segmentation process. Thereafter, we design a box-boundary mutual guidance module, which fosters more precise and comprehensive feature extraction via mutual guidance between a boundary prompt and a box prompt. This collaboration enhances the model's ability to accurately detect camouflaged objects. Moreover, we employ the discrete wavelet transform to extract high-frequency features from image embeddings. The high-frequency features serve as a supplementary component to the multiprompt ***, our COMPrompter guides the network to achieve enhanced segmentation results, thereby advancing the development of SAM in terms of COD. Experimental results across COD benchmarks demonstrate that COMPrompter achieves a cutting-edge performance, surpassing the current leading model by an average positive metric of 2.2% in COD10K. In the specific application of COD, the experimental results in polyp segmentation show that our model is superior to top-tier methods as well.
