Regularization of mathematical model for chip flow angle catastrophe

The chip flow angle(CFA)catastrophe in double-edged cutting results in a significant reduction in the cutting force,which can benefit the ***,established potential functions(i.e.,cutting power calculation functions)of mathematical models for the CFA catastrophe are presented in the form of transcendental functions with two control parameters and one state parameter,which are extremely complex.A method is proposed herein to realize the regularization of the potential functions and establish mathematical models in a standard form and with complete content for the CFA *** this method,the potential function of the CFA catastrophe is expanded into a k-order Taylor polynomial at each midpoint of N end-to-end equally partitioned intervals of the state parameter using the Taylor function provided in *** potential function after piecewise Taylor expansion is transformed into the same form as the potential function of the standard cusp catastrophe model by truncating the first five terms of the Taylor polynomial and eliminating the third-order term of the state parameter with elementary ***,the regularization of potential function is ***,the regularization of equilibrium surface and bifurcation set can be realized based on the conclusions of the catastrophe *** errors of the potential function,equilibrium surface,and bifurcation set are defined to evaluate the effectiveness of this regularization *** problem of calculating regularization errors is regarded as an optimization ***‘‘simulannealbnd’’function provided in MATLAB is used to solve the *** the proposed method,the regularization of a mathematical model for the CFA catastrophe established by the predecessor is completed;a mathematical model(i.e.,standard cusp catastrophe model)in a standard form and with complete content for the CFA catastrophe is established;and the corresponding regularization errors

Sandstones attributed to different lacustrine sediment gravity flows are present in the 7th and 6th members of the Yanchang Formation in the Ordos Basin, China. These differences in their origins led to different sandstone distributions which control the scale and connectivity of oil and gas reservoirs. Numerous cores and outcrops were analysed to understand the origins of these sandstones. The main origin of these sandstones was analysed by statistical methods, and well logging data were used to study their vertical and horizontal distributions. Results show that the sandstones in the study area accu- mulated via sandy debris flows, turbidity currents and slumping, and sandy debris flows predominate. The sand- stone associated with a single event is characteristically small in scale and exhibits poor lateral continuity. How- ever, as a result of multiple events that stacked gravity flow-related sandstones atop one another, sandstones are extensive overall, as illustrated in the cross section and isopach maps. Finally, a depositional model was developed in which sandy debris flows predominated and various other types of small-scale gravity flows occurred frequently, resulting in extensive deposition of sand bodies across a large area.

Origin of dolomite in the Middle Ordovician peritidal platform carbonates in the northern Ordos Basin, western China

The carbonates in the Middle Ordovician Ma_5～5submember of the Majiagou Formation in the northern Ordos Basin are partially to completely *** types of replacive dolomite are distinguished：（1） type 1dolomite,which is primarily characterized by microcrystalline（〈30 urn）,euhedral to subhedral dolomite crystals,and is generally laminated and associated with gypsumbearing microcrystalline dolomite,and（2） type 2 dolomite,which is composed primarily of finely crystalline（30-100 urn）,regular crystal plane,euhedral to subhedral *** type 2 dolomite crystals are truncated by stylolites,indicating that the type 2 dolomite most likely predated or developed simultaneously with the formation of the ***,petrographic,and geochemical data indicate that the type 1 dolomite formed from near-surface,low-temperature,and slightly evaporated seawater and that the dolomitizing fluids may have been driven by density differences and elevation-related hydraulic *** absence of massive depositional evaporites in the dolomitized intervals indicates that dolomitization was driven by the reflux of slightly evaporated *** δ～（18）O values（-7.5 to-6.1 ‰） of type1 dolomite are slightly lower than those of seawaterderived dolomite,suggesting that the dolomite may be related to the recrystallization of dolomite at higher temperatures during *** type 2 dolomite has lowerδ～（18）O values（-8.5 to-6.7 ‰） and Sr～（2＋） concentration and slightly higher Na～＋,Fe～（2＋）,and Mn～（2＋） concentrations and～（87）Sr/～（86）Sr ratios（0.709188-0.709485） than type 1 dolomite,suggesting that the type 2 dolomite precipitated from modified seawater and dolomitic fluids in pore water and that it developed at slightly higher temperatures as a result of shallow burial.

An integrated petrographical and geochemical study of the massive dolomite of the lower Ordovician Penglaiba Formation of the Tarim Basin,outcropping at Yonganba recognized three dolomite types:very finely to finely crystalline nonplanar-a to planar-s dolomite(D1);medium crystalline planar-s to planar-e dolomite(D2);and coarse crystalline nonplanar-a dolomite(D3).All have been affected by burial.D1 and D2 dolomites developed initially before or during shallow burial and later recrystallized,whereas D3 dolomite replaced the initial limestone entirely during *** three dolomites have similar geochemical *** D2 dolomite tends to have more inter-crystalline pores(inherited from primary pores)and higher porosity due to its outstanding compaction resistance during shallow burial;whereas D3 dolomite does not retain appreciable primary pores due to strong cementation and pressure dissolution before *** study provides a useful model for understanding the origin and porosity development of burial dolomite,in particular Paleozoic dolomite.

This study describes a sequence of microbialites and volcanics of the Lower Cretaceous Shipu Group, an example of microbialites influenced by volcanic activity. It is located at Shipu town in eastern Zhejiang Province on the coast of southeastern China. Based on macroscopic outcrop observations, microscopic examination of thin sections,electron probe microanalysis(EPMA), field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM) imaging analysis, and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry(EDS) analysis, nine microbialite–tuffite assemblages have been recognized in the section. Their thickness increased gradually upwards as volcanism decreased. There are ooids, bioclastic grains,intraclasts and tuffaceous grains in the grain shoal with local dolomitization. Above the grain shoal, microbial reefs develop either individually or conjoining with adjacent ones, and consist of stromatolites and serpulid tubes with common recrystallization. Tubes of serpulids are calcified and the tube wall is micrite. The tube and intertube parts are filled by sparry calcite. Colonial serpulids are surrounded by microbes to form stromatolites. Black layers of stromatolites contain many calcite crystals with fan-shaped growth pattern and preserved organic matter. Microbes are so well preserved in crystal lattices that the original microstructure of the microbes can be clearly observed by FESEM imaging analysis. Microbial reefs develop at a local high point near or above fair-weather wave-base where waves removed fine volcanic ashes. Interreef deposits are coarse tuffite due to physical differentiation. Volcanic activity could provide rich nutrition for microbes, but too much fine volcanic ash inhibits microbial growth. As a result, a moderate supply of volcanic ash favors the development of microbialites.

Effects of White-Rot Fungi Composting on Wood Powder-Chicken Manure Mixture

[ Objective] To explore the possibility of treating livestock manure with white-rot fungi. [Method] The wood powder-chicken manure mixture was respectively composted by three kinds of white-rot fungi, the weight of lignin, cellulose, protein, fat, ash and crude polysaccharide as well as the mycelial growth was determined during this process. [ Result] The mixture was better composted with white-rot fungi than the control. The best effect was achieved in P. ostreatus composting group. In this group, the rate of weight reduction, lignin degradation and cellulose degradation were respectively 15.68% （6.79 times as great as that of the control group）, 39.92% （6.54 times as great as that of the control group） and 32.26% （2.77 times as great as that of the control group）. The weight of protein and fat were increased by 31.68% and 146.58%, respectively. The content of crude polysaccharide was 2.43%. No crude polysaccharide was detected, and the weight of protein and fat decreased by 21.96% and 70.99%, respectively. [ Conclusion] It is feasible to compost livestock and poultry manure with white-rot fungi.

Quartz Cement in Middle Jurassic Reservoir Sandstones in North Sea A Review. Part II: Duration and Silica Sources

The timing and duration of quartz cementation in sandstones have been mainly inferred from diagenetic texture, relationship between pore filling minerals, fluid inclusions and isotopic data. Fluid inclusion temperatures from North Sea reservoir sandstones indicate that most of the quartz cement forms at temperature exceeding 90℃ and is continually proceeding after oil emplacement, based on the fluid inclusion temperatures in quartz overgrowth which is approaching the bottom-hole temperatures. The duration of quartz cement after oil emplacement depends upon the saturation of porewater and the distribution of pore water film and the property of water-wet or oil-wet of the reactants. The leaching of K-feldspar by meteoric water requires pore water flow to move the released potassium and sodium and silica out the solution, which suggests the mechanism does not appear to be a major source of silica for quartz cementation. The quartz cementation coincidence with the compaction and pressure solution suggests the major source of silica. The alteration of feldspar by illitization of kaolinite may serve as another important source of silica at deep burial depth. External sources are not need to call on for illustrating the quartz cementation, because there is no evidences for large scale convection of pore water flow occurred in the burial history of reservoir sandstones of middle Jurassic in the North Sea.

Catalyst–support interaction plays a crucial role in improving the catalytic activity of oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Here we modulate the catalyst–support interaction in polyaniline-supported Ni_(3)Fe oxide(Ni_(3)Fe oxide/PANI)with a robust hetero-interface,which significantly improves oxygen evolution activities with an overpotential of 270 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)and specific activity of 2.08 mA cm_(ECSA)^(-2)at overpotential of 300 mV,3.84-fold that of Ni_(3)Fe *** is revealed that the catalyst–support interaction between Ni_(3)Fe oxide and PANI support enhances the Ni–O covalency via the interfacial Ni–N bond,thus promoting the charge and mass transfer on Ni_(3)Fe *** the excellent activity and stability,rechargeable Zn-air batteries with optimum Ni_(3)Fe oxide/PANI are assembled,delivering a low charge voltage of 1.95 V to cycle for 400 h at 10 mA cm^(-2).The regulation of the effect of catalyst–support interaction on catalytic activity provides new possibilities for the future design of highly efficient OER catalysts.

Computed tomography enterography-based radiomics for assessing mucosal healing in patients with small bowel Crohn's disease
