Genomic analysis of Nypa fruticans elucidates its intertidal adaptations and early palm evolution

Nypa fruticans(Wurmb),a mangrove palm species with origins dating back to the Late Cretaceous period,is a unique species for investigating long-term adaptation strategies to intertidal environments and the early evolution of ***,we present a chromosome-level genome sequence and assembly for *** integrated the genomes of *** and other palm family members for a comparative genomic analysis,which confirmed that the common ancestor of all palms experienced a whole-genome duplication event around 89 million years ago,shaping the distinctive characteristics observed in this *** also inferred a low mutation rate for the *** genome,which underwent strong purifying selection and evolved slowly,thus contributing to its stability over a long evolutionary ***,ancient duplicates were preferentially retained,with critical genes having experienced positive selection,enhancing waterlogging tolerance in ***,we discovered that the pseudogenization of Early Methionine-labelled 1(EM1)and EM6 in *** underly its crypto-vivipary characteristics,reflecting its intertidal *** study provides valuable genomic insights into the evolutionary history,genome stability,and adaptive evolution of the mangrove *** results also shed light on the long-term adaptation of this species and contribute to our understanding of the evolutionary dynamics in the palm family.

Geometric-like imaginarity:Quantification and state conversion

From the perspective of resource-theoretic approach, this study explores the quantification of imaginary in quantum physics. We propose a well defined measure of imaginarity, the geometric-like measure of imaginarity. Compared with the usual geometric imaginarity measure, this geometric-like measure of imaginarity exhibits smaller decay difference under quantum noisy channels and higher stability. As applications, we show that both the optimal probability of state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations, and the maximal probability of stochastic-approximate state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations with a given fidelity f, are given by the geometric-like measure of imaginarity.

Investigating correlations between radiomic and genomic profiling in breast cancer(BC)molecular subtypes is crucial for understanding disease mechanisms and providing personalized *** present a well-designed radiogenomic framework image–gene–gene set(IMAGGS),which detects multi-way associations in BC subtypes by integrating radiomic and genomic *** dataset consists of 721 patients,each of whom has 12 ultrasound(US)images captured from different angles and gene mutation *** better characterize tumor traits,12 multi-angle US images are fused using two distinct ***,we analyze complex many-to-many associations between phenotypic and genotypic features using a machine learning algorithm,deviating from the prevalent one-to-one relationship pattern observed in previous *** radiomic and genomic features are screened using these *** addition,gene set enrichment analysis is performed to investigate the joint effects of gene sets and delve deeper into the biological functions of BC *** further validate the feasibility of IMAGGS in a glioblastoma multiforme dataset to demonstrate the scalability of IMAGGS across different modalities and *** together,IMAGGS provides a comprehensive characterization for diseases by associating imaging,genes,and gene sets,paving the way for biological interpretation of radiomics and development of targeted therapy.

Liver transplantation(LT)is the standard therapy for individuals afflicted with end-stage liver *** notable advancements in LT technology,the incidence of early allograft dysfunction(EAD)remains a critical concern,exacerbating the current organ shortage and detrimentally affecting the prognosis of ***,the perplexing hepatic heterogeneity has impeded characterization of the cellular traits and molecular events that contribute to ***,we constructed a pioneering single-cell transcriptomic landscape of human transplanted livers derived from non-EAD and EAD patients,with 12 liver samples collected from 7 donors during the cold perfusion and portal reperfusion *** of the 75231 cells of non-EAD and EAD patients revealed an EAD-associated immune niche comprising mucosal-associated invariant T cells,granzyme B^(+)(GZMB^(+))granzyme K^(+)(GZMK^(+))natural killer cells,and S100 calcium binding protein A12^(+)(S100A12^(+))***,we verified this immune niche and its association with EAD occurrence in two independent *** findings elucidate the cellular characteristics of transplanted livers and the EAD-associated pathogenic immune niche at the single-cell level,thus,offering valuable insights into EAD onset.

Melt-cast explosives are the most widely used energetic materials in military composite explosives,researchers have been unremittingly exploring high-energy and insensitive melt-cast *** this work,a series of dinitrophenyl-oxadiazole compounds were designed and *** compounds have an ideal low melting point(80-97℃),good detonation performance(detonation velocity D=6455-6971 m/s,detonation pressure P=18-19 GPa)and extreme insensitive nature(impact sensitivity≥60 J,friction sensitivity>360 N).All these compounds were well characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance,fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,elemental *** 2,3 were unambiguously confirmed by X-ray single crystal diffraction *** a result,their overall properties are superior to traditional melt-cast explosives trinitrotoluene(TNT)and dinitroanisole(DNAN)which may have excellent potential applications in insensitive melt-cast explosives.

Background Hypothalamus hamartomas(HHs)are rare,congenital,tumor-like,and nonprogressive malformations resulting in drug-resistant epilepsy,mainly affecting *** seizures(GS)are an early hallmark of epilepsy with *** aim of this study was to explore the disease progression and the underlying physiopathological mechanisms of pathological laughter in *** We obtained clinical information and metabolic images of 56 HH patients and utilized ictal semiology evaluation to stratify the specimens into GS-only,GS-plus,and no-GS subgroups and then applied contrasted trajectories inference(cTI)to calculate the pseudotime value and evaluate GS *** logistic regression was performed to identify neuroimaging-clinical predictors of GS,and then voxelwise lesion network-symptom mapping(LNSM)was applied to explore GS-associated brain *** cTI inferred the specific metabolism trajectories of GS progression and revealed increased complexity from GS to other seizure *** was further validated via actual disease duration(Pearson R=0.532,P=0.028).Male sex[odds ratio(OR)=2.611,P=0.013],low age at seizure onset(OR=0.361,P=0.005),high normalized HH metabolism(OR=−1.971,P=0.037)and severe seizure burden(OR=−0.006,P=0.032)were significant neuroimaging clinical *** revealed that the dysfunctional cortico-subcortico-cerebellar network of GS and the somatosensory cortex(S1)represented a negative *** This study sheds light on the clinical characteristics and progression of GS in children with *** identified distinct subtypes of GS and demonstrated the involvement of specific brain regions at the cortical–subcortical–cerebellar *** valuable results contribute to our understanding of the neural correlates of GS.
