The development in research, production, applications, and national standards of Chinese duplex stainless steel （DSS） in recent years was introduced in light of the worldwide development in the field of DSS. The results showed that the output of Chinese DSS increased greatly, and at the same time its grade gradually evolved into a collaborative developing series including the main grade type 2205 and other DSS types in recent years. Economical DSS and super DSS underwent rapid development, especially after 2010. In re- cent years, the application of Chinese DSS has been expanded further not only in traditional application ar- eas such as the petrochemical industry, but also in diverse new fields such as oil and gas transportation, chemical tanker manufacturing, nuclear power plants, and construction. Moreover, due to the increase in output and improvement in quality, as well as applications in Chinese projects, Chinese DSS has also been exported to the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and other regions.

The radial growth of trees In mountainous areas is subject to environmental conditions associated with changes In elevation. To assess the sensitivity of tree-ring growth to climate variation over a wide range of elevations, we compared the chronological characteristics of Sabina przewalskii Kom. and their relationships with climatic variables at the upper and lower treellnes In the Dulan region of the northeastern Qlnghal-Tlbetan Plateau. It was found that the radial growth in this region was controlled primarily by precipitation in late spring and early summer （from May to June）. In addition, a higher temperature from April to June could Intensify drought stress and lead to narrow tree rings. The significant similarity In climate-tree growth relationships at both the upper and lower treellnes Indicated that tree rings of S. przewalskU In this region are able to provide common regional climate information. However, the chronologies at the lower forest limits showed a higher standard deviation and more significant correlations with climatic factors, suggesting that the radial growth there was more significantly Influenced by climate variation. The first principal component of the four chronologies showed a common growth response to local climate. The second principal component showed a contrasting growth response between different sampling sites. The third principal component revealed different growth patterns In response to altitudinal variation. Further analysis Indicated that the precipitation In late spring and early summer controlled the growth of S. przewalskii on a regional scale and that other factors, such as mlcroenvlronment at the sampling sites, also affected the strength of the climatic response of tree growth.

Reaction condition optimization and kinetic investigation of roasting zinc oxide ore using (NH_4)_2SO_4

An orthogonal test was used to optimize the reaction conditions of roasting zinc oxide ore using（NH_4）_2SO_4. The optimized reaction conditions are defined as an（NH_4）_2SO_4/zinc molar ratio of 1.4：1, a roasting temperature of 440°C, and a thermostatic time of 60 min. The molar ratio of（NH_4）_2SO_4/zinc is the most predominant factor and the roasting temperature is the second significant factor that governs the zinc extraction. Thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis was used for（NH_4）_2SO_4 and zinc mixed in a molar ratio of 1.4：1 at the heating rates of 5, 10, 15, and 20 K·min-1. Two strong endothermic peaks indicate that the complex chemical reactions occur at approximately 290°C and 400°C. XRD analysis was employed to examine the transformations of mineral phases during roasting process. Kinetic parameters, including reaction apparent activation energy, reaction order, and frequency factor, were calculated by the Doyle-Ozawa and Kissinger methods. Corresponding to the two endothermic peaks, the kinetic equations were obtained.

BACKGROUND The Rome IV criteria eliminated abdominal discomfort for irritable bowel syndrome(IBS), which was previously included in Rome III. There are questions as to whether IBS patients with abdominal discomfort(seen in Rome III but not Rome IV) are different from those with abdominal pain(Rome IV).AIM To compare bowel symptoms and psychosocial features in IBS patients diagnosed with Rome III criteria with abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, and pain &*** We studied IBS patients meeting Rome III criteria. We administered the IBS symptom questionnaire, psychological status, and IBS quality of life. Patients were classified according to the predominant abdominal symptom associated with defecation into an only pain group, only discomfort group, and pain & discomfort group. We compared bowel symptoms, extraintestinal symptoms, IBS quality of life, psychological status and healthcare-seeking behaviors, and efficacy among the three groups. Finally, we tested risk factors for symptom reporting in IBS *** Of the 367 Rome III IBS patients enrolled, 33.8%(124 cases) failed to meet Rome IV criteria for an IBS diagnosis. There were no meaningful differences between the pain group(n = 233) and the discomfort group(n = 83) for the following:(1) Frequency of defecatory abdominal pain or discomfort;(2) Bowel habits;(3) Coexisting extragastrointestinal pain;(4) Comorbid anxiety and depression;and(5) IBS quality of life scores except more patients in the discomfort group reported mild symptom than the pain group(22.9% vs 9.0%). There is a significant tendency for patients to report their defecatory and non-defecatory abdominal symptom as pain alone, or discomfort alone, or pain & discomfort(all P < 0.001).CONCLUSION IBS patients with abdominal discomfort have similar bowel symptoms and psychosocial features to those with abdominal pain. In this article, unique spectral features of short-wave infrared band of 1 μm–3 μm, and various applications related to the photodetectors and focal plane arrays in this band, are introduced briefly. In addition, the different material systems for the devices in this band are outlined. Based on the background, the development of lattice-matched and wavelengthextended InGaAs photodetectors and focal plane arrays, including our continuous efforts in this field, are reviewed. These devices are concentrated on the applications in spectral sensing and imaging, exclusive of optical fiber communication.

The development of bare patches typically signifies a process of ecosystem *** the protection system of Shapotou section of the Baotou-Lanzhou railway,the extensive emergence of bare sand patches poses a threat to both stability and ***,there is limited knowledge regarding the morphology,dynamic changes,and ecological responses associated with these sand ***,we analyzed the formation and development process of sand patches within the protection system and its effects on herbaceous vegetation growth and soil nutrients through field observation,survey,and indoor analysis *** results showed that sand patch development can be divided into three stages,i.e.,formation,expansion,and stabilization,which correspond to the initial,actively developing,and semi-fixed sand patches,*** average dimensions of all sand patch erosional areas were found to be 7.72 m in length,3.91 m in width,and 0.32 m in *** actively developing sand patches were the largest,and the initial sand patches were the *** the stage of formation and expansion,the herbaceous community composition changed,and the plant density decreased by more than 50.95%.Moreover,the coverage and height of herbaceous plants decreased in the erosional area and slightly increased in the depositional lobe;and the fine particles and nutrients of soils in the erosional area and depositional lobe showed a decreasing *** the stabilization phases of sand patches,the area from the inlet to the bottom of sand patches becomes initially covered with *** and 0-2 cm surface soil condition improved in the erosional area,but this improvement was not yet evident in the depositional *** such as disturbance,climate change,and surface resistance to erosion exert notable influences on the formation and dynamics of sand *** results can provide evidence for the future treatment of sand patches and the management of the pro
