Over the last two decades,extensive study has been done on two-dimensional Molybdenum Sulphide(MoS_(2))due to its outstanding features in energy storage *** MoS_(2)has a lot of active sulphur edges,the presence of inactive surfaces leads to limit conductivity and ***,in this article,we aimed to promote the additional active sites by doping various weight percentages(2%,4%,6%,8%and 10%)of Nickel(Ni)into the MoS_(2)matrix by simple hydrothermal technique,and their doping effects were investigated with the help of Physio-chemical analyses.X-ray diffraction(XRD)pattern,Raman,and chemical composition(XPS)analyses were used to confirm the Ni incorporation in MoS_(2)*** investigations demonstrated that Ni-doped MoS_(2)nanosheets were vertically aligned with enhanced interlayer *** voltammetry,Galvanostatic charge-discharge,and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigations were used to characterize the electrochemical *** 6%Ni-doped MoS_(2)electrode material showed better CSPof 528.7 F/g@1 A/g and excellent electrochemical stability(85%of capacitance retention after 10,000 cycles at 5 A/g)compared to other electrode ***,the solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor was assembled using Nidoped MoS_(2)and graphite as anode and cathode materials and analysed the electrochemical properties in the two-electrode *** determine the impact of the Ni-atom on the MoS_(2)surface,firstprinciples computations were ***,it was examined for electronic band structure,the projected density of states(PDOS)and Bader charge transfer analyses.

Background Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana (NPY) is a direct benefit transfer scheme of the Government of India introduced in 2018 to support the additional nutritional requirements of persons with TB (PwTB). Our recent nationwide evaluation of implementation and utilization of NPY using programmatic data of PwTB from nine randomly selected Indian states, reported a 70% coverage and high median delay in benefit credit. We undertook a qualitative study between January and July 2023, to understand the detailed implementation process of NPY and explore the enablers and barriers to effective implementation and utilization of the NPY *** We followed a grounded theory approach to inductively develop theoretical explanations for social phenomena through data generated from multiple sources. We conducted 36 in-depth interviews of national, district and field-level staff of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) and NPY beneficiaries from 30 districts across nine states of India, selected using theoretical sampling. An analytical framework developed through inductive coding of a set of six interviews, guided the coding of the subsequent interviews. Categories and themes emerged through constant comparison and the data collection continued until theoretical *** Stakeholders perceived NPY as a beneficial initiative. Strong political commitment from the state administration, mainstreaming of NTEP work with the district public healthcare delivery system, availability of good geographic and internet connectivity and state-specific grievance redressal mechanisms and innovations were identified as enablers of implementation. Influence of Na_(2)SiO_(3)/NaOH Ratio on Calcined Magnesium Silicate Based Geopolymer——Experimental and Predictive Study

This study aims to investigate the behavior of alkali activated mortar,which is made of naturally available magnesium silicate as source *** magnesium silicate,ultrafine natural steatite powder(UFNSP)is used as the primary source of binder,and the activation is initiated through the alkali liquid which is proportioned in various combinations of silicate to hydroxide ratio(Na_(2)SiO_(3)/Na OH)ratio,and this ratio in this study varies from 1 to *** UFNSP is calcined at two difierent temperatures,700 and 1000℃.The mortar mix is proportioned as 1:3 between powder and the fine aggregate,and the mortar is prepared with hydroxide molarity(M)of 10 *** mortar is cured for 48 hours at 60℃and the compressive strength was *** the mix were studied for its microstructural behavior along with compressive *** mix proportion of the mortar,and the results obtained through microstructural characterization were combinedly formed as input for artificial neural network(ANN)predictive *** model is designed to predict the compressive strength,which is trained through Bayesian regularization algorithm with varying hidden neurons of 7 to *** experimental and predictive study shows that the strength is influenced by both Na_(2)SiO_(3)/Na OH ratio and calcination *** the ANN is influenced by mainly calcination temperature and uncorrelation occurs in selected samples of 1000℃calcined UFNSP mix.

Intra-population genetic variance for grain iron and zinc contents and agronomic traits in pearl millet

Crop biofortification is a sustainable approach for fighting micronutrient malnutrition in the world. The estimation of variance components in genetically broad-based populations provides information about their genetic architecture, allowing the design of an appropriate biofortification breeding method for cross-pollinated crops such as pearl millet. The objective of this study was to estimate intra-population genetic variance using self(S1) and half-sib(HS) progenies in two populations, AIMP92901 and ICMR312. Field trials were evaluated in two contrasting seasons(2009 rainy and 2010 summer; otherwise called environments) in Alfisols at ICRISAT, Patancheru. Analyses of variance showed highly significant variation for S1 s and HS progenies, reflecting high within-population genetic variation for both micronutrients and other key traits. However, the HS showed narrow ranges and lower genetic variances than the S1 for all of the traits. The micronutrients were highly positively correlated in S1(r = 0.77 to 0.86; P < 0.01) and HS(r = 0.74 to 0.77; P < 0.01)progenies of both populations, implying concurrent genetic improvement for both micronutrients. The genetic variance component was different among populations for Fe and Zn contents across environments, with AIMP92901 showing a greater proportion of dominance and ICMR312 greater additive variance for these micronutrients. The estimates of variance(additive and dominance) were specific for each population, given their dependence on the additive and dominance effects of the segregating loci, which also differ among populations. The possible causes for such differences were discussed. The results showed that the expression of these micronutrients in pearl millet shows largely additive variance, so that breeding high-iron hybrids will require incorporation of these micronutrient traits into both parental lines.

Evaluation of antipyretic activity of ethyl acetate extract of Adenema hyssopifolium *** in a rat model

Objective:To evaluate the effect of ethyl acetate extract of Adenema hyssopifolium(AHEAE) on normal body temperature and brewer’s yeast-induced pyrexia ***:Preliminary phytochemical tests,acute toxicity tests and antipyretic evaluation were carried out in ethyl acetate extract of Adenoma hyssopifolium,.Two doses of the extract(300 or 600 mg/kg orally) and standard antipyretic agent,paracetamol at a dose of 150 mg/kg were administered to various group of the *** rectal temperature before and after treatment was ***:The phytochemical analysis of AHEAE revealed the presence of flavonoid and iridoid glycosides as major *** administration of AHEAE at a dose of 300 or 600 mg/kg produced significant reduction(P<0.001 and P<0.01) of the body temperature in normal and pyrexia rats on a dose dependent *** antipyretic influence of AHEAE was comparable to that of standard antipyretic agent,paracetamol(150 mg/kg),and onset of action and reduction in pyrexia towards normal body temperature was delayed when compared to paracetamol *** dose of 600 mg/kg,AHEAE reduced pyrexia to normal body temperature at 4 h after its administration compared to reduction of pyrexia to normal body temperature at 2 h by standard *** reduction of fever was consistent in paracetamol group from 2 to 4 h after its administration to normal body temperature compared to AHEAE ***:Our present results corroborate with the traditional notion of Adenema hyssopifolium *** that is being used as an effective cure of fever and add authenticity to claim of indigenous healers that the taxon is a potential antipyretic agent.

Fabrication of AA7005/TiB2-B4C surface composite by friction stir processing: Evaluation of ballistic behaviour

The present work aims to enhance the ballistic resistance of AA7005 alloy by incorporating the TiB2 and B4C ceramic reinforcement particles. Surface composites with different weight fractions of TiB2 and B4C particles were processed by friction stir processing. Micro-hardness and depth of penetration tests were carried out to evaluate the ballistic properties of the surface composites. The surface hardness of the composite was found to be nearly 70 HV higher than base alloy. The depth of penetration of the steel projectile was 20e26mm in the composites as compared to 37mm in the base alloy. Ballistic mass efficiency factor of the surface composite was found to be 1.6 times higher than base alloy. This is mainly attributed to the dispersion strengthening from the reinforcement particles.

Occurrence of Clostridium perfringens contamination in poultry feed ingredients:Isolation, identification and its antibiotic sensitivity pattern

This work has been undertaken to study the occurrence of Clostridium perfringens contamination in the poultry feed ingredients and find out its in-vitro antibiotic sensitivity pattern to various antimicrobial drugs. Two hundred and ninety-eight poultry feed ingredient samples received at Poultry Disease Diagnosis and Surveillance Laboratory, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu in South India were screened for the presence of C. perfringens. The organisms were isolated in Perfringens agar under anaerobic condition and subjected to standard biochemical tests for confirmation. In vitro antibiogram assay has been carried out to determine the sensitivity pattern of the isolates to various antimicrobial drugs. One hundred and one isolates of C. perfringens were obtained from a total of 298 poultry feed ingredient samples. Overall positivity of 33.89% could be made from the poultry feed ingredients. Highest level of C. perfringens contamination was detected in fish meal followed by bone meal, meat and bone meal and dry *** assay indicated that the organisms are highly sensitive to gentamicin(100%), chlortetracycline(96.67%), gatifloxacin(93.33%), ciprofloxacin(86.67%), ofloxacin(86.67%) and lincomycin(86.67%). All the isolates were resistant to penicillin-G. Feed ingredients rich in animal proteins are the major source of C. perfringens contamination.

Is bactibilia a predictor of poor outcome of pancreaticoduodenectomy?

BACKGROUND:Although bile infection has been proposed to increase infective complications following pancreaticoduodenectomy,its association with infective complications and non-infective complications like pancreatic fistula is still ***:Seventy-six patients who had undergone pancreaticoduodenectomy between July 2007 and December 2008 were included in a prospective database and their data *** all patients intraoperative bile from the bile duct was ***,intra-operative,and post-operative variables were recorded and ***:Bile culture showed positive growth in 35 patients and negative growth in *** patients in the positive group underwent ERCP and *** patients with a positive bile culture had a higher incidence of infective complications including intra-abdominal abscess (n=8),wound infection (n=27),bacteremia (n=10),and renal insufficiency (n=9).There was no increase in the rate of non-infective complications of pancreaticoduodenectomy including pancreatic fistula (n=7),delayed gastric emptying (n=9),and post-operative hemorrhage (n=3).The hospital stay was significantly prolonged in the patients with a positive bile culture (P=0.0002).CONCLUSIONS:Pre-operative biliary drainage is significantly associated with bile infection,and bile infection increases the overall rates of infective complications and renal *** of the high incidence of complications is associated with infected bile,routine intra-operative bile culture is recommended in patients undergoing ***-operative prophylaxis is dependent on sensitivity of cases to perioperative antibiotics and intraoperative bile culture *** of its significant association with infected bile,biliary stenting should be used in strictly selected cases.

Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater:a clinicopathologic evaluation

BACKGROUND:Only 105 cases of neuroendocrine tumor(NET)of the ampulla of Vater have been described, mostly as single case *** incidence of NET is *** changes in incidence may result from changes in *** study was to determine the relative incidence and clinicopathological characteristics of high- grade neuroendocrine carcinoma(small cell carcinoma and large cell carcinoma)of the ampulla of Vater at a single institution. METHODS:Sections from paraffin blocks of tumors of the ampulla of Vater taken from 45 patients who underwent Whipple’s procedure and 6 patients who underwent palliative bypass between September 2003 and January 2007 were subjected to immunohistochemical *** clinical and pathological data from 5 patients diagnosed with NET of the ampulla of Vater were analyzed. RESULTS:The patients were 3 men and 2 women,ranging in age from 39 to 47 years(mean 44 years).Operative procedures included Whipple’s procedure in 4 patients and palliative bypass in 1 *** examination revealed large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in 2 patients,small cell carcinoma in 2,and carcinoid in *** patients with high-grade neuroendocrine carcinoma who had undergone Whipple’s procedure died at postoperatively 7,11,and 13 *** patient who had undergone palliative triple bypass died 3 months after ***:The relative incidence of high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas of the ampulla of Vater is higher than that generally *** tumors behave aggressively and have a dismal prognosis despite aggressive treatment.
