Burden of digestive system diseases in China and its provinces during 1990-2019: Results of the 2019 Global Disease Burden Study

Background: Evaluating the impact of digestive system diseases is vital for devising effective prevention strategies. However, comprehensive reports on the burden of digestive system diseases in China are lacking. Our study aimed to provide an overview of the burden and trends of digestive system diseases from 1990 to 2019 in China and its ***: This cross-sectional study utilized the Global Disease Burden Study 2019 to estimate the incidence, mortality rate, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), years of life disability, years of life lost, and changes in the burden of digestive diseases across Chinese provinces from 1990 to 2019. The analysis of disease burden primarily examines the characteristics of sub-disease distribution, time trends, age distribution, and sex distribution. Additionally, we compared provincial age-standardized DALYs for digestive diseases with the expected rates based on the socio-demographic index (SDI).Results: In 2019, there were 499.2 million cases of digestive system diseases in China, resulting in 1,557,310 deaths. Stomach cancer, colon and rectal cancer, and esophageal cancer are the top three diseases associated with mortality and DALY related to digestive system diseases. Meanwhile, cirrhosis and other chronic liver diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and gallbladder and biliary diseases are the top three kinds of diseases with the highest prevalence among digestive system diseases. The risk of gastric cancer sharply increases among men after the age of 40 years, leading to a significant disparity in burden between men and women. As the SDI increased, the DALYs associated with digestive system diseases in China and its provinces showed a downward ***: Our study highlights the inverse correlation between DALYs associated with digestive system diseases and the SDI.

目的从结构和功能两个层面,探讨克罗恩病(Crohn's disease,CD)患者大脑是否存在变化,并分析与焦虑、抑郁评分的关系。材料与方法收集20例CD患者及21例正常对照组大脑结构与静息态功能磁共振影像及临床指标数据。基于Schaefer分区模板,将全脑分为100个脑区,分析脑区皮层厚度是否存在差异。计算结构差异脑区间功能连接(functional connectivity,FC),比较两组间FC是否存在差异。最后,使用皮尔逊相关系数衡量差异脑区皮层厚度和FC与临床指标(焦虑评分、抑郁评分、CD活动指数、病程)的相关性。结果与正常对照组相比,CD组左脑岛(P=0.002,FDR校正)、右后顶叶(P=0.031,FDR校正)皮层厚度下降。与正常对照组相比,CD组左脑岛-右后顶叶间FC显著降低(P=0.025);CD患者左脑岛皮层厚度与抑郁评分存在显著负相关(r=−0.61,P=0.007)。结论CD患者较正常对照左脑岛和右后顶叶皮层结构和FC受损,左脑岛皮层厚度变薄与抑郁评分增加有关,这为理解CD的神经机制提供新的线索。

Firmness,a main index of quality changes,is important for the quality evaluation of fruits,in the present study,texture analysis (TA) of magnetic resonance images was applied to predict firmness of Huanghua pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai,***) during storage using an artificial neural network (ANN).Seven co- occurrence matrix-derived TA parameters and one run-length matrix TA parameter significantly correlated with firmness were considered as inputs to the *** ANN models were evaluated when developing the optimal *** optimal ANN model consisted of one hidden layers with seventeen neurons in the hidden *** model was able to predict firmness of pears with a mean absolute error of 0.539 N and R=*** data showed the potential of TA parameters of MR images combined ANN for investigations of internal quality characteristics of fruits during storage.

The type and quality of cushioning materials can significantly affect the vibration intensity and physical quality of fruits during *** the current paper,we evaluated different cushioning materials (paper-wrap materials,foam-net packages) for their protective effect on vibration levels,number of bruises and mechanical damage to Huanghua pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai,***) during *** in pear firmness, hydrolase activity and cell wall constituents were examined in fruits stored for up to 36 days after *** data suggested that choice of cushioning material significantly reduced vibration intensity in transit,affecting the physical quafity of fruits and their subsequent commercialization and that foam-net packages provided a greater protective effect than paper-wrap packages.

AIM. To investigate the influence of heme oxygenase-1 （HO-1） gene transfer on the viability and function of cultured rat islets in vitro. METHODS： Islets were isolated from the pancreata of Sprague-Dawley rats by intraductal collagenase digestion, and purified by discontinuous Ficoll density gradient centrifugation. Purified rat islets were transfected with adenoviral vectors containing human HO-1 gene （Ad- HO-1） or enhanced green fluorescent protein gene （Ad- EGFP）, and then cultured for seven days. Transfection was confirmed by fluorescence microscopy and Western blot. Islet viability was evaluated by acridine orange/ propidium iodide fluorescent staining. Glucose-stimulated insulin release was detected using insulin radioimmunoassay kits and was used to assess the function of islets. Stimulation index （SI） was calculated by dividing the insulin release upon high glucose stimulation by the insulin release upon low glucose stimulation. RESULTS： After seven days culture, the viability of cultured rat islets decreased significantly （92% ± 6% vs 52% ± 13%, P 〈 0.05）, and glucose-stimulated insulin release also decreased significantly （6.47 ± 0.55 mIU/ L/30IEO vs 4.57 ± 0.40 mIU/L/3OIEO., 14.93 ± 1.17 mIU/L/30IEQ vs 9.63 ± 0.71 mIU/L/30IEQ, P 〈 0.05）. Transfection of rat islets with adenoviral vectors at an 1±10 of 20 was efficient, and did not impair islet function. At 7 d post-transfection, the viability of Ad-HO-1 transfected islets was higher than that of control islets（71% ± 15% vs 52% ± 13%, P 〈 0.05）. There was no significant difference in insulin release upon low glucose stimulation （2.8 mmol/L） among Ad-HO-1 transfected group, Ad-EGFP transfected group, and control group （P 〉 0.05）, while when stimulated by high glucose （16.7 mmol/L） solution, insulin release in Ad-HO-1 transfected group was significantly higher than that in Ad-EGFP transfected group and control group, respectively （12.50 ±2.17 mIU/L/30IEQ vs 8.87 ± 0.65 mIU/L/30IEQ, 12.50 ± 2.17 mIU/L/30IEQ
