Electrostatic interaction-mediated 1:1 complexes for high-contrast mitochondrial-targeted phosphorescence bioimaging

Organelle-targeted imaging can provide information on cellular functions and intracellular interactions,being significant for disease *** use of room-temperature phosphorescence(RTP)in organelle-targeted imaging can fully utilize its unique characteristics of long wavelength and deep ***,this technology has long been plagued by insufficient probe targeting and limited luminous *** this work,we prepared a series of complexes composed of multicationic persulfurated arenes and biomacromolecules via electrostatic interactions in 1:1 stoichiometry for high-contrast mitochondrial-targeted RTP *** an electrostatic interaction design effectively prevented the self-aggregation of the probes,which is not conducive to mitochondrial ***,it suppressed the non-radiative decay to the maximum extent,enabling the probes to exhibit strong RTP signals both in aqueous solution and at the cellular ***,the biomacromolecules can serve as carriers for an electrostatic interaction transfer of the persulfurated arenes to *** leads to high mitochondrial targeting Pearson's correlation coefficients of the probes and high-contrast RTP imaging effects,as well as the independence of the co-incubated probe *** results provide new insights for the development of targeted imaging technologies.

Atomistic origin of high grain boundary resistance in solid electrolyte lanthanum lithium titanate

Lanthanum lithium titanate is one of the promising electrolytes for solid-state lithium-ion batteries due to its high bulk ionic conductivity up to∼10^(−3) S/***,the practical application of this material has been bottlenecked by high grain boundary(GB)resistance,while the underlying mechanism is still under *** we report a comprehensive study with direct evidence to reveal the origin of high GB resistance in La_(2/3)–xLi_(3x)TiO_(3)(LLTO).Atomic-scale observations via advanced scanning transmission electron microscopy show that the GBs are uniformly subject to subsurface segregation of La atoms to compensate for the excess surface *** La segregation leads to an abrupt decrease of charge carrier concentration neighboring GBs and hence is supposed to have deleterious effect on GB *** findings suggest a novel mechanism of space-charge-induced cation segregation,which shed lights on the intrinsic origin of low GB ionic conductivity in LLTO.

Immunotherapy is an important cancer treatment method that offers hope for curing cancer *** immunotherapy has achieved initial success,a major obstacle to its widespread adoption is the inability to benefit the majority of *** success or failure of immunotherapy is closely linked to the tumor’s immune ***,there has been significant attention on strategies to regulate the tumor immune microenvironment in order to stimulate anti-tumor immune responses in cancer *** distinctive physical properties and design flexibility of nanomedicines have been extensively utilized to target immune cells(including tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs),T cells,myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs),and tumor-associated fibroblasts(TAFs)),offering promising advancements in cancer *** this article,we have reviewed treatment strategies aimed at targeting various immune cells to regulate the tumor immune *** focus is on cancer immunotherapy models that are based on nanomedicines,with the goal of inducing or enhancing anti-tumor immune responses to improve *** is worth noting that combining cancer immunotherapy with other treatments,such as chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and photodynamic therapy,can maximize the therapeutic ***,we have identified the challenges that nanotechnology-mediated immunotherapy needs to overcome in order to design more effective nanosystems.

Tunnel bottleneck management with high-occupancy vehicle priority on intelligent freeways

Tunnels on freeways,as one of the critical bottlenecks,frequently cause severe congestion and passenger *** solve the tunnel bottleneck problem,most of the existing research can be divided into two *** is to adopt variable speed limits(VSLs)to regulate a predetermined speed for vehicles to get through a bottleneck *** other is to adopt high-occupancy vehicle(HOV)lane *** HOV lane management strategies,all traffic is divided into HOVs and low-occupancy vehicles(LOVs).HOVs are vehicles with a driver and one or more *** are vehicles with only a *** kind of research can grant priority to HOVs by providing a dedicated HOV ***,the existing research cannot both mitigate congestion and maximize passenger-oriented *** address the research gap,this paper leverages connected and automated vehicle(CAV)technologies on intelligent freeways and develops a tunnel bottleneck management strategy with a dynamic HOV lane(DHL).The strategy bears the following features:1)enables tunnel bottleneck management at a microscopic level;2)maximizes passenger-oriented benefits;3)grants priority to HOVs even when the HOV lane is open to LOVs;4)allocates right-of-way segments for HOVs and LOVs in real time;and 5)performs well in a mixed-traffic *** proposed strategy is evaluated through comparison against the non-control baseline and a VSL *** analysis is conducted under different congestion levels and penetration *** results demonstrate that the proposed strategy outperforms in terms of passenger-oriented delay reduction and HOVs’priority level improvement.

Efficacy and safety of remimazolam in bronchoscopic sedation:A meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Remimazolam is a new benzodiazepine used for procedural sedation and general *** studies have used remimazolam for bendable *** To assess the safety and efficacy of remimazolam for sedation in patients undergoing bendable bronchoscopy by performing a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials(RCTs).METHODS We searched the EMBASE,PubMed,Cochrane Library,and Web of Science databases for RCTs on bendable bronchoscopic procedural sedation with remimazolam vs conventional sedatives(CS).RESULTS Five studies with 1080 cases were *** had the same sedation success rate compared with CS[relative risk(RR):1.35,95%CI:0.60-3.05,P=0.474,I2=99.6%].However,remimazolam was associated with a lower incidence of hypotension(RR:0.61;95%CI:0.40-0.95,P=0.027;I2=65.1%)and a lower incidence of respiratory depression(RR:0.50,95%CI:0.33-0.77,P=0.002,I2=42.3%).A subgroup analysis showed a higher success rate of sedation with remimazolam than midazolam(RR:2.45,95%CI:1.76-3.42,P<0.001).Compared with propofol,the incidence of hypotension(RR:0.45,95%CI:0.32-0.64,P<0.001,I2=0.0%),respiratory depression(RR:0.48,95%CI:0.30-0.76,P=0.002,I2=78.4%),hypoxemia(RR:0.36,95%CI:0.15-0.87,P=0.023),and injection pain(RR:0.04,95%CI:0.01-0.28,P=0.001)were *** Remimazolam is safe and effective during *** sedation success rate was similar to that in the CS ***,remimazolam has a higher safety profile,with fewer inhibitory effects on respiration and circulation.

Design of digital calibration based on variable step size of sub-binary SAR ADC

Addressing the impact of capacitor mismatch on the conversion accuracy of successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter(SAR ADC),a 12-bit 1 MS/s sub-binary SAR ADC designed using variable step size digital calibration was *** least mean square(LMS)calibration algorithm was employed with a ramp signal used as the calibration *** errors,extracted under injected disturbances,underwent iterative training to optimize weight *** address the trade-off between conversion accuracy and speed caused by a fixed step size,a novel variable step size algorithm tailored for SAR ADC calibration was *** core circuit and layout of the SAR ADC were implemented using the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company(TSMC)0.35μm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS)commercial *** of the SAR ADC calibration algorithm was conducted using Simulink,demonstrating quick convergence and meeting conversion accuracy requirements compared to fixed step size *** results indicated that the convergence speed of the LMS digital calibration algorithm with variable step size was approximately eight times faster than that with a fixed step size,also yielding a lower mean square error(MSE).After calibration,the simulation results for the SAR ADC exhibited an effective number of bit(ENOB)of 11.79 bit and a signal-to-noise and distortion ratio(SNDR)of 72.72 dB,signifying a notable enhancement in the SAR ADC performance.
