A mathematical modeling is explored to scrutinize the unsteady stagnation point flow of Oldroyd-B nanofluid under the thermal conductivity and solutal diffusivity with bioconvection *** of Joule heating and Arrhenius activation energy including convective boundary conditions are studied,and the specified surface temperature and constant temperature of wall(CTW)are *** consequences of thermal conductivity and diffusivity are also taken into *** flow is generated through stretchable disk geometry,and the behavior of non-linear thermal radiation is incorporated in energy *** partial differential equations governing the fluid flow in the structure is reduced into dimensionless nonlinear ODEs by applying suitable similarity *** obtained system of non-dimensional nonlinear ODEs is treated numerically with the help of bvp4c solver in Matlab under shooting *** impact of various prominent parameters on velocity profile,thermal profile,volumetric nanoparticle concentration and microorganism distribution is depicted in graphical *** numerical outcomes for skin friction coefficient,heat transfer rate,Sherwood number as well as microorganism density number versus various parameters are listed in the *** results show that fluid velocity is reduced by increasing buoyancy ratio parameter,while the fluid flow increases with mixed convective *** temperature profile is enhanced with the amount of nonlinear thermal radiation and temperature dependent thermal ***,concentration profiles of nanoparticles have opposite behavior for Brownian motion coefficient and thermophoresis diffusion parameter,and it is noticed that by varying Peclet number the microorganisms profile is *** proposed study is useful to control and optimize heat transfer in industrial applications.

This research systematically examined the degradation,antibacterial effects,and biocompatibility of micro-arc oxidation(MAO)coatings with nano CuO and ZnO on extruded Mg *** copper(Cu)and Zinc(Zn)possess antibacterial *** findings demonstrated that adding ZnO will appreciably reduce the degradation rate of MAO-coating alloy due to the self-sealing micro ***+MAO coating exhibited excellent antibacterial performance,with an antibacterial rate of over 90%within 6 h co-cultured with Staphylococcus ***,the antibacterial rate of ZnO+MAO coating reached 90%after 12 h *** test using MG63 cell indicated that the incorporation of CuO and ZnO did not notably affect the cell viability rate of the ***,after 14 days of culture,the CuO+MAO and ZnO+MAO coated samples exhibited higher alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity than the MAO-coated and uncoated samples,suggesting favorable osteogenic properties.

Oleuropein alleviates sepsis-induced acute lung injury via the AMPK/Nrf-2/HO-1 signaling

Objective:To explore the effect of oleuropein on sepsis-induced acute lung injury(ali)in vitro and in vivo and investigate the underlying ***:In an lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-mediated cell model of sepsis-induced ali and a cecal ligation and puncture-induced mouse model of septic ali,CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry analysis were used to detect cell activity and *** and relevant assay kits were used to measure the levels of inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress,*** blot was applied to determine the expression of apoptosis-and AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor-2(Nrf-2)/heme oxygenase-1(HO-1)signaling-associated ***-1 staining,adenosine triphosphate(ATP)assay kit,and MitoSOX Red assays were performed to detect mitochondrial membrane potential,ATP content,and mitochondrial ROS formation,***,lung injury was evaluated by measuring lung morphological alternations,lung wet-to-dry ratio,myeloperoxidase content,and total protein ***:Oleuropein reduced inflammatory reaction,oxidative damage,and apoptosis,and ameliorated mitochondrial dysfunction in LPS-exposed BEAS-2B cells and mice with septic ***,oleuropein activated the AMPK/Nrf-2/HO-1 signaling ***,these effects of oleuropein were abrogated by an AMPK inhibitor compound ***:Oleuropein can protect against sepsis-induced ali in vitro and in vivo by activating the AMPK/Nrf-2/HO-1 signaling,which might be a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of sepsis-induced ali.

Dear Editor,Infections by the influenza virus are a significant and widespread global health threat,as these infections have an annual death toll ranging from 290,000 to 650,000.1 A significant proportion of these fatalities are attributed to secondary bacterial pneumonia,a severe complication commonly caused by ubiquitous respiratory pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus(***).2 Of particular concern is the increased morbidity and mortality rates in individuals infected simultaneously with influenza virus and methicillin-resistant ***(MRSA).3 The concurrent presence of bacteria and influenza virus usually causes acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS),which is associated with acute lung injury(ali),severe lung tissue edema,and widespread ***,determining the complex mechanisms underlying the synergistic interplay will require further investigation with a suitable coinfection mouse *** our previous study,we utilized different sequential coinfections at various time points to model influenza A virus and MRSA coinfection.

Schamel equation in an inhomogeneous magnetized sheared flow plasma with q-nonextensive trapped electrons

An investigation is carried out for understanding the properties of ion–acoustic（IA） solitary waves in an inhomogeneous magnetized electron-ion plasma with field-aligned sheared flow under the impact of q-nonextensive trapped electrons. The Schamel equation and its stationary solution in the form of solitary waves are obtained for this inhomogeneous plasma. It is shown that the amplitude of IA solitary waves increases with higher trapping efficiency（β）, while the width remains almost the same. Further, it is found that the amplitude of the solitary waves decreases with enhanced normalized drift speed, shear flow parameter and the population of the energetic particles. The size of the nonlinear solitary structures is calculated to be a few hundred meters and it is pointed out that the present results are useful to understand the solar wind plasma.

Cow manure and cow manure-derived biochar application as a soil amendment for reducing cadmium availability and accumulation by Brassica chinensis L. in acidic red soil

Organic amendment is a promising,in situ phytostabilization approach to alleviate the phytotoxic effects of heavy metal contaminated *** aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of cow manure（CM）and its derived biochar（CMB）as a soil amendment on cadmium（Cd）availability and accumulation in low and high Cd-accumulating cultivars of Brassica chinensis *** in an acidic red *** and CMB were applied to Cd-contaminated acidic red soil at the rates of 0,3.0and 6.0%（w/w）.Application of CMB was significantly more effective than that of CM,as it reduced the availability of Cd in soil by 34.3–69.9%and its bioaccumulation in the low Cd accumulator,Aijiaoheiye 333,by 51.2 and 67.4%,*** addition of CMB significantly increased the extractability and accumulation of trace metals（Zn,Mn,Fe,and Cu）by plants and improved plant biomass *** application,combined with utilizing low Cd accumulating cultivars represents a new,sustainable strategy to alleviate the toxic effects on Cd and improve food safety.

Targeting TLR4 and regulating the Keap1/Nrf2 pathway with andrographolide to suppress inflammation and ferroptosis in LPS-induced acute lung injury

Acute lung injury（ali） is a severe inflammatory condition with a high mortality rate, often precipitated by sepsis. The pathophysiology of ali involves complex mechanisms, including inflammation, oxidative stress, and ferroptosis, a novel form of regulated cell death. This study explores the therapeutic potential of andrographolide（AG）, a bioactive compound derived from Andrographis, in mitigating Lipopolysaccharide（LPS）-induced inflammation and ferroptosis. Our research employed in vitro experiments with RAW264.7 macrophage cells and in vivo studies using a murine model of LPS-induced ali. The results indicate that AG significantly suppresses the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and inhibits ferroptosis in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. In vivo, AG treatment markedly reduces lung edema, decreases inflammatory cell infiltration, and mitigates ferroptosis in lung tissues of LPS-induced ali mice. These protective effects are mediated via the modulation of the Toll-like receptor 4（TLR4）/Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1（Keap1）/Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2（Nrf2） signaling pathway. Molecular docking simulations identified the binding sites of AG on the TLR4 protein(Kd value:-33.5 kcal·mol-1), and these interactions were further corroborated by Cellular Thermal Shift Assay（CETSA） and SPR assays. Collectively, our findings demonstrate that AG exerts potent anti-inflammatory and anti-ferroptosis effects in LPS-induced ali by targeting TLR4 and modulating the Keap1/Nrf2 pathway. This study underscores AG's potential as a therapeutic agent for ali and provides new insights into its underlying mechanisms of action.

Effect of fineness of ash on pozzolanic properties and acid resistance of sugarcane bagasse ash replaced cement mortars

This paper addresses the potential use of Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash(SCBA)as a pozzolanic material for partial cement replacement in concrete *** mortars containing SCBA having five different particle size distributions at a replacement rate of 20%by weight were used to study the chemical and physical pozzolanic properties of *** durability of SCBA replaced mortars was also *** with 0%retained on sieve No.325 was used to replace 20%by weight of cement and create mortar specimens that were subjected to sulfuric acid attack of varying concentrations(1%–3%by weight of water).The tested samples were observed to check visual distortion,mass loss,and compressive strength loss at 1,7,14,28,and 56 d of acidic exposure,and the results were compared to those for the control sample,that was lime water cured,at the same *** SCBA sets were found to meet the requirements for pozzolan class N specified by ASTM C *** containing SCBA with 0%or 15%retention produced better compressive strength than the control mortars after 28 ***,X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the SCBA had favorable chemical properties for a pozzolanic ***,SCBA replaced samples at all ages showed improved resistance against acidic attack relative to that of the control *** deterioration was seen for 3%concentrated *** study’s findings demonstrated that SCBA with an appropriate fineness could be used as a pozzolanic material,consistently with ASTM C 618.

目的了解武汉市产前胎儿羊水染色体异常核型检出情况，探讨羊水染色体异常核型种类分布及不同产前诊断指征的异常核型检出率。方法纳入2017年7月至2023年12月在华中科技大学同济医学院附属协和医院产前诊断中心行羊膜腔穿刺术的3363例孕妇资料进行统计分析。结果 3363例羊水样本检出368例异常核型和161例多态性变异，异常核型检出率为10.94%，包括241例数目异常、107例结构异常、20例嵌合体。羊水染色体异常核型检出率由高到低的产前诊断指征分别是：无创DNA高风险、父/母染色体异常、两项及以上异常、NT增厚、B超异常、高龄（≥35岁）、其他、不良孕产史、血清学筛查高风险。随着孕妇年龄的增长，羊水染色体核型异常的风险越高。结论产前诊断指征中无创DNA高风险和父/母染色体异常的羊水核型异常率最高。对所有符合产前诊断指征的孕妇进行羊水染色体核型检查可以有效避免染色体异常患儿的出生。
