Atomistic quantum simulation is performed to compare the performance of zero-Schottky-barrier and doped source-drain contacts carbon nanotube field effect transistors(CNTFETs) with strain applied. The doped source-drain contact CNTFETs outperform the Schottky contact devices with and without strain applied. The off-state current in both types of contact is similar with and without strain applied. This is because both types of contact offer very similar potential barrier in off-state. However, the on-state current in doped contact devices is much higher due to better modulation of on-state potential profile, and its variation with strain is sensitive to the device contact type. The on/off current ratio and the inverse subthreshold slope are better with doped source-drain contact, and their variations with strain are relatively less sensitive to the device contact type. The channel transconductance and device switching performance are much better with doped source-drain contact, and their variations with strain are sensitive to device contact type.

An evolutionary computational framework for capacity-safety trade-off in an air transportation network

Airspace safety and airport capacity are two key challenges to sustain the growth in Air Transportation. In this paper, we model the Air Transportation Network as two sub-networks of airspace and airports, such that the safety and capacity of the overall Air Transportation network emerge from the interaction between the two. We propose a safety-capacity trade-off approach,using a computational framework, where the two networks can inter-act and the trade-off between capacity and safety in an Air Transport Network can be established. The framework comprise of an evolutionary computation based air traffic scenario generation using a flow capacity estimation module(for capacity), Collision risk estimation module(for safety) and an air traffic simulation module(for evaluation). The proposed methodology to evolve air traffic scenarios such that it minimizes collision risk for given capacity estimation was tested on two different air transport network topologies(random and small-world) with the same number of airports. Experimental results indicate that though airspace collision risk increases almost linearly with the increasing flow(flow intensity) in the corresponding airport network, the critical flow depend on the underlying network configuration. It was also found that, in general, the capacity upper bound depends not only on the connectivity among airports and their individual performances but also the configuration of waypoints and mid-air interactions among conflicts. Results also show that airport network can accommodate more traffic in terms of capacity but the corresponding airspace network cannot accommodate the resulting traffic flow due to the bounds on collision risk.

The research on the extent and effects of microplastics pollution in the Global South is only getting *** is a South Asian country with one of the fastest growing economies in the world,however,such exponential economic growth has also increased the pollution threats to its natural and urban *** this paper,we reviewed the recent primary research on the assessment of the extent of microplastics pollution in *** online databases,we developed a compilation of emergingresearch articles that detected and quantified microplastics in different coastal,marine,and urban environments in *** of the studies focused on the coastal environment(e.g.,beach sediment)and marine fish,while limited data were available for the urban *** also discussed the relationship of the type of anthropogenic activities with the observed microplastic *** Cox's Bazar sea beach in south-east Bangladesh experienced microplastics pollution due to tourism activities,while fishing and other anthropogenic activities led to microplastics pollution in the Bay of *** microplastics larger than 1 mm were prevalent in the beach sediments,smaller microplastics with size below 0.5 mm were prevalent in marine fish ***,the differences m microplastic abundance,size,shape,color,and polymer type found were depended on the sampling sites and relevant anthropogenic *** is imperative to identify majorsources of microplastics pollution in both natural and urban environment,determine potential environmental and human health effects,and develop mitigating and prevention strategies for reducing microplastics pollution.

The ingots with nominal composition Pr9.5Fe84-xB6.4P0.1Zrx(x=0,1,2,3)were prepared by an electric arc furnace under purified argon *** ribbons were obtained by melt spinning at a wheel speed of16-33 m·s-1.X-ray diffraction(XRD)results show that P addition decreases crystallinity of hard phase,but further Zr addition increases the amorphous-forming ability of soft *** intrinsic coercivity largely increases from 502(Zr-free)to 945 kA·m-1(2 at%Zr),which is among the highest value reported so far in this poor rare earth nanocomposite *** hysteresis loops of the alloys with addition of 1 at%and 2 at%Zr show good squareness with single-phase characteristic,indicating well exchange coupling between hard and soft magnetic *** electron microscope(TEM)results reveal small grain size and uniformity in the microstructure in the Zradded samples,which is the reason for high coercivity.

The distribution of the nuclear ground-state spin in a two-body random ensemble(TBRE)was studied using a general classification neural network(NN)model with two-body interaction matrix elements as input features and the corresponding ground-state spins as labels or output *** quantum many-body system problem exceeds the capability of our optimized NNs in terms of accurately predicting the ground-state spin of each sample within the ***,our NN model effectively captured the statistical properties of the ground-state spin because it learned the empirical regularity of the ground-state spin distribution in TBRE,as discovered by physicists.

Static recovery was confirmed to be the dominant softening mechanism during annealing for the studied A5083 aluminum *** kinetics of static recovery,described based on the activation parameters(activation energy and volume of static recovery)and the static softening fraction,were mainly studied through two thermomechanical tests,namely,double-pass compression and stress relaxation tests.A new approach was proposed to measure the static softening fraction in the stress relaxation *** general,a higher temperature or strain rate accelerates static recovery,while interestingly,the effect of pre-strain on static recovery is opposite in cases with and without external stress,owing to the enhanced static recovery by external stress during *** addition,microhardness tests and electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)characterization were also conducted to verify the accuracy of the *** grain average misorientation approach based on EBSD characterization was confirmed to be effective in distinguishing and quantifying static *** is noteworthy that the special stress hardening phenomenon occurring at 400℃and 0.1/s is caused by strain aging,showing the complexity of the material behaviors after deformation of the studied aluminum alloy.

Bacterial leaf blight(BLB)caused by Xanthomonas oryzae ***(Xoo)is one of the most damaging diseases to rice across the *** chemicals have been employed so far for the management of bacterial leaf *** the other hand,these compounds are damaging to the ecosystem and have an impact on non-target species such as humans and *** a result,there is a need to create a new natural inhibitor for BLB ***(PDF)enzyme is present in all eubacteria and its necessity in bacterial protein synthesis reveals it as an attractive target for drug *** this study,the active components of Nigella sativa have been selected based on their previously reported antimicrobial activity and screened on the active site of bacterial PDF by the in silico art of *** these compounds,dithymoquinone and p-cymene strongly bind with the PDF enzyme with binding energy values of 7.77 kcal/mol and 7.26 kcal/mol,respectively,which is comparatively higher than the control compound(−6.73 kcal/mol).Hence,the“dithymoquinone-PDF”and“p-cymene-PDF”complexes were selected for further study,and their stability was assessed by molecular dynamic(MD)*** MD simulation,both selected compounds exhibited steady-state interaction with PDF for 20 *** has been hypothesized that p-cymene and dithymoquinone inhibit peptide deformylase and could be used as antibacterials or pesticides against Xoo against the BLB disease.
