Reinforced concrete(RC)structures are generally designed to carry quasi-static gravity loads through almost indispensable components namely slab,however,it may be subjected to high intense loads induced from the impact of projectiles generated by the tornado,falling construction equipment,and also from accidental explosions during their construction and service *** due to rock/boulder falls do occur on the structures located especially in hilly *** loadings are not predictable but may cause severe damage to the slab/*** stimulates structural engineers and researchers to investigate and understand the dynamic response of RC structures under such impulsive *** research work first investigates the performance of 1000×1000×75 mm^(3)conventionally reinforced two-way spanning normal strength concrete slab with only tension reinforcement(0.88%)under the concentric impact load(1035 N)using the finite element method based computer code,ABAQUS/*** impact load is delivered to the centroid of the slab using a solid-steel cylindroconical impactor(drop weight)with a flat nose of diameter 40 mm,having a total mass of 105 kg released from a fixed height of 2500 *** popular concrete constitutive models in ABAQUS namely;Holmquist-Johnson-Cook(HJC)and Concrete Damage Plasticity(CDP),with strain rate effects as per fib MODEL CODE 2010,are used to model the concrete material behavior to impact loading and to simulate the damage to the *** slab response using these two models is analyzed and compared with the impact test *** strain rate effect on the reinforcing steel bars has been incorporated in the analysis using the Malvar and Crawford(1998)approach.A classical elastoplastic kinematic idealization is considered to model the steel impactor and support *** reveal that the HJC model gives a little overestimation of peak displacement,maximum acceleration,and damage of the slab while the predictions given by

The velocity field and the associated shear stress corresponding to the torsional oscillatory flow of a second grade fluid, between two infinite coaxial circular cylinders, are determined by means of the Laplace and Hankel transforms. At time t = 0, the fluid and both the cylinders are at rest and at t = 0 ＋ , cylinders suddenly begin to oscillate around their common axis in a simple harmonic way having angular frequencies ω 1 and ω 2 . The obtained solutions satisfy the governing differential equation and all imposed initial and boundary conditions. The solutions for the motion between the cylinders, when one of them is at rest, can be obtained from our general solutions. Furthermore, the corresponding solutions for Newtonian fluid are also obtained as limiting cases of our general solutions.

The ever-increasing dependence on electrical power has posed more challenges to power system engineers to deliver secure, stable, and sustained energy to electricity consumers. Due to the increasing occurrence of short-and long-term power interruptions in the power system, the need for a systematic approach to mitigate the negative impacts of such events is further manifested. Self-healing and its control strategies are generally accepted as a solution for this concern. Due to the importance of self-healing subject in power distribution systems, this paper conducts a comprehensive literature review on self-healing from existing published papers. The concept of self-healing is briefly described, and the published papers in this area are categorized based on key factors such as self-healing optimization goals, available control actions, and solution methods. Some proficient techniques adopted for self-healing improvements are also classified to have a better comparison and selection of methods for new investigators. Moreover, future research directions that need to be explored to improve self-healing operations in modern power distribution systems are investigated and described at the end of this paper.

In this paper,we have analyzed a tri-trophic food chain model consisting of phytoplankton,zooplankton and fish population in an aquatic ***,the pelagic water column is divided into two layers namely,the upper layer and the lower *** zooplankton population makes a diel vertical migration(DVM)from lower portion to upper portion and vice-versa to trade-off between food source and fear from predator(Fish).Here,mathematical model has been developed and analyzed in a rigorous *** from routine calculations like boundedness and positivity of the solution,local stability of the equilibrium points,we performed Hopf bifurcation analysis of the interior equilibrium point of our model system in a systematic *** is observed that the migratory behavior of zooplankton plays a crucial role in the dynamics of the model *** the upward and downward migration rates of DVM leads the system into Hopf *** upward migration rate of zooplankton deteriorates the stable coexistence of all the species in the system,whereas the downward migration rate enhance the stability of the ***,we analyze the non-autonomous version of the system to capture seasonal effect of environmental *** have shown that under certain parametric restrictions periodic coexistence of all the species of our system is ***,extensive numerical simulation has been performed to support our analytical findings.

In this study,we calculated transport coefficients including the shear viscosity and electrical conductivity relative to the density of dense hadronic and quark *** considering the simple massless limit for the quark matter and two different effective models for the hadronic matter,we estimated the transport coefficients of the two phases ***,density profiles of the transport coefficients were depicted in two parts:the phasespace part and the relaxation time *** calculating the shear viscosity to density ratio,we also explored the nearly perfect fluid domain of the quark and hadronic matter.

The preparation of hitherto unknown steroidal heterocycles containing pyrazole fused to 6,7-position of the steroidal nucleus is described. These heterocycles were prepared by the action of Vilsmeier reagent with steroidal semicarbazones in DMF. The structure of the compounds has been established on the basis of their elemental analysis and spectral data. A general mechanistic scheme for these reactions is also suggested based on current and previous results.

Peroxynitrite （ONOO-） is a powerful oxidant and nitrosative agent and has in vivo existence. The half life of ONOO- at physiological pH is less than 1 s. It can react with nucleic acids, proteins, lipoproteins, saccharides, cardi- olipin, etc., and can modify their native structures. Action of ONOO-, synthesized in the authors＇ laboratory by a rapid quenched flow process, on structural changes of commercially available RNA was studied by ultraviolet （UV）, fluo- rescence, and agarose gel electrophoresis. Compared to native RNA, the ONOO--modified RNA showed hyper- chromicity at 260 nm. Furthermore, the ethidium bromide （EtBr） assisted emission intensities of ONOO--modified RNA samples were found to be lower than the emission intensity of native RNA-EtBr complex. Agarose gel electrophoresis of ONOO--modifled RNA showed a gradual decrease in band intensities compared to native RNA, an observation clearly due to the poor intercalation of EtBr with ONOO--modified RNA. Native and ONOO--modified RNA samples were used as an antigen to detect autoantibodies in sera of patients with clinically defined breast cancer. Both direct binding and inhibition enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） confirmed the prevalence of native and 0.8 mmol/L ONOO--modified RNA specific autoantibodies in breast cancer patients. Moreover, the progressive retarda- tion in the mobility of immune complexes formed with native or 0.8 mmol/L ONOO--modified RNA and affinity purified immunoglobulin G （IgG） from sera of breast cancer patients supports the findings of the direct binding and inhibition ELISAs. The peroxynitrite treatment to RNA at a higher concentration appears to have damaged or destroyed the typical epitopes on RNA and thus there was a sharp decrease in autoantibodies binding to 1.4 mmol/L ONOO--modified RNA.
