Automatization of For.st Fir. Detection Using Geospatial Technique

Healthy for.st is the vital r.sour.e to r.gulate climate at a r.gional and global level. For.st fir. has been r.gar.ed as one of the major.r.asons for.the loss of for.st and degr.dation of the envir.nment. Global war.ing is incr.asing its intensity at an alar.ing r.te. r.al-time fir. detection is a necessity to avoid lar.e scale losses. r.mote sensing is a quick and cheap technique for.detecting and monitor.ng for.st fir.s on a lar.e scale. Advance Ver. r.diometer.r.solution (AVHr.) has been used alr.ady for.a long per.od for.fir. detection. The use of Moder.te r.solution Imaging r.dio Spectr.meter.(MODIS) for.fir. detection has r.cently pr.ceded AVHr. and a lar.e number.of fir. pr.ducts ar. being developed. MODIS based for.st fir. detection and monitor.ng system can solve the pr.blem of r.al-time for.st fir. monitor.ng. The system facilitates data acquisition, pr.cessing, r.por.ing and feedback on the fir. location infor.ation in an automated manner. It pr.vides location infor.ation at 1 × 1 kilometer.r.solution on the active fir.s which ar. pr.sent dur.ng the satellite over.ass twice a day. The user. ar. pr.vided with the infor.ation on SMS aler. with fir. location details, email notification, and online visualization of fir. locations on website automatically. The whole pr.cesses ar. automated and pr.vide better.accur.cy for.fir. detection.
