Here,we compiled ten papers detailing recent strides in the field of stem cell therapy,which address critical issues relevant to pursuing this experimental treatment for clinical applications in brain *** include efficacy,safety,and mechanism of action underlying cell therapy,emerging technologies and combination pharmacotherapies with cell transplantation directed at improving the functional outcomes,and evaluation of key translational components of advancing novel therapeutics to the clinic,including the need for vis-a-vis comparisons with the gold standard of treatment post-injury (i.e.,physical rehabilitation).A bioethics paper is also incorporated here to further appreciate the current status of cell therapy in the community *** overall goal of this special volume is to provoke a meaningful assessment of the lessons we have learned in recent years and to use such knowledge to carefully translate safe and effective applications of cell therapy,and its mechanism of action for the treatment of neurological disorders.

The intensification of a low-level jet off the Somali coast, as observed through GOES (I-O) satellite during Indian summer monsoon 1979 has been studied. Excitation of Low-level cross-equatorial flow in the western Indian ocean results from an interaction between extratropical perturbations moving eastward across the South African-Malgassy region of the Southern Hemisphere. This excitation occurs 2-3 days after the first appearance of a northward propagation cold front across the South African-Malgassy region. Inten-sification of cross-equatorial flow is followed by an increase in rainfall activity along the west coast of India after 3-4 days. The study reveals that this association can be used to forecast an increase in rainfall activity along the west coast of India 5-7 days in advance.

During FGGE year 1979, low-level air flow over the western Indian Ocean was determined from the analysis of GOES images (5-20 June). The wind pattern shows sudden change in low-level air circulation over western Indian Ocean during the initial burst of summer monsoon. The burst of monsoon is characterized by sudden establishment of low-level jet and strong cross-equatorial flow. This abrupt change signals the beginning of southwest monsoon over India and it is associated with the first monsoon rainfall over the southern part of western coast of India. Sudden change in low-level air flow is followed by the burst of monsoon within 3-5 days.

BACKGROUND The broader use of high-throughput technologies has led to improved molecular characterization of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).AIM To comprehensively analyze and characterize all publicly available genomic,gene expression,methylation,miRNA and proteomic data in HCC,covering 85 studies and 3355 patient sample profiles,to identify the key dysregulated genes and pathways they *** We collected and curated all well-annotated and publicly available highthroughput datasets from PubMed and Gene Expression Omnibus derived from human HCC *** pathway enrichment analysis was performed using pathDIP for each data type(genomic,gene expression,methylation,miRNA and proteomic),and the overlap of pathways was assessed to elucidate pathway dependencies in *** We identified a total of 8733 abstracts retrieved by the search on PubMed on HCC for the different layers of data on human HCC samples,published until December *** common key dysregulated pathways in HCC tissue across different layers of data included epidermal growth factor(EGFR)andβ1-integrin *** along these pathways were significantly and consistently dysregulated across the different types of high-throughput data and had prognostic value with respect to overall *** CTD database,estradiol would best modulate and revert these genes *** By analyzing and integrating all available high-throughput genomic,transcriptomic,miRNA,methylation and proteomic data from human HCC tissue,we identified EGFR,β1-integrin and axon guidance as pathway dependencies in *** are master regulators of key pathways in HCC,such as the mTOR,Ras/Raf/MAPK and p53 *** genes implicated in these pathways had prognostic value in HCC,with Netrin and Slit3 being novel proteins of prognostic importance to *** on this integrative analysis,EGFR,andβ1-integrin are master regulators that could serve as potential therapeutic targets in HCC.

检测猪FGL2基因cDNA末端序列并对该基因结构初步分析。α 32PdCTP放射性同位素标记cDNA探针筛选猪基因组DNA文库;cDNA末端快速扩增(rapidamplificationofcDNAend,RACE)。以猪正常小肠及心脏组织提取新鲜总RNA,反转录后作为模板,设计基因特异性引物,采用Advantage2聚合酶混合物进行PCR扩增;依据猪与人FGL2基因3′端已知同源序列设计PCR上游引物,以人FGL2基因3′末端序列设计下游引物,以猪基因组DNA为模板采用Advantage2聚合酶混合物进行PCR反应;PCR载体重组质粒DNA亚克隆扩增。同位素探针未能筛选到特异阳性克隆,RACE反应检测到特异性转录起始位置及第一个转录终止位置,但仍未检测到第二个转录终止位置。猪基因组DNA行PCR扩增成功检测到猪FGL2基因3′末端未知序列及第二个转录终止位置。

γ射线辐照马铃薯可以抑制发芽,但是由于表皮细胞受射线的损伤,也影响了块茎的抗病能力。SPork等曾提出,辐照马铃薯的块茎易感染软腐病。本实验观察到不同剂量(0—50Krad)辐照的马铃薯置于空气中存放,由于贮存时间与贮存期温度的差异,对软腐病的发病率有显著的差别。辐照25Krad和50Krad的块茎与未辐照的相比,其易感性非常显著。如将辐照的马铃薯装入聚乙烯塑料袋中比在空气中存放发病率高。在高温(25℃以上)和缺氧状态下更为显著。实验结果详见于后。 1.贮藏条件对辐照马铃薯感染软腐病的影响。
