Field experiments were undertaken on sandy soils with three cropping systems at Giridih,Jharkhand,India for two years during *** experiments were executed in split plot design by assigning water soluble phosphorus(WSP)fertilizers in main-plot and recommended dose of phosphorus(RDP)in sub-plot with three *** maximum economical yield of rice(4705 kg/ha),baby corn(842 kg/ha)and Chickpea(920 kg/ha)were recorded with the application of 30%*** maximum economical yield of successive crops-wheat(3185 kg/ha),mustard(1720 kg/ha)and groundnut(1578 kg/ha)were recorded with the application of 30%WSP and 100%RDP *** similar trends were noticed in terms of by-product yield,nutrient uptake and residual soil fertility *** the levels of WSP(30%-89%)in complex fertilizers were found to be equally effective for grain yield,straw yield,nutrient uptake,and residual soil fertility.

Lassa hemorrhagic fever,caused by Lassa mammarenavirus(LASV)infection,accumulates up to 5000 deaths every ***,there is no vaccine available to combat this *** this study,a library of 200 bioactive compounds was virtually screened to study their drug-likeness with the capacity to block theα-dystroglycan(α-DG)receptor and prevent LASV *** rigorous absorption,distribution,metabolism,and excretion(ADME)and quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR)profiling,molecular docking was conducted with the top ligands against theα-DG *** compounds chrysin,reticuline,and 3-caffeoylshikimic acid emerged as the top three ligands in terms of binding ***-docking analysis revealed that interactions with Arg76,Asn224,Ser259,and Lys302 amino acid residues of the receptor protein were important for the optimum binding affinity of *** dynamics simulation was performed comprehensively to study the stability of the protein-ligand ***-depth assessment of root-mean-square deviation(RMSD),root mean square fluctuation(RMSF),polar surface area(PSA),B-Factor,radius of gyration(Rg),solvent accessible surface area(SASA),and molecular surface area(MolSA)values of the protein-ligand complexes affirmed that the candidates with the best binding affinity formed the most stable protein-ligand *** authenticate the potentialities of the ligands as target-specific drugs,an in vivo study is underway in real time as the continuation of the research.

PURPOSE: To document a previously unreported complication after vitrectomy with peeling of the internal limiting membrane (ILM) for idiopathic macular holes. Method: Retrospective review of notes of 232 consecutive patients who underwent vitrectomy with peeling of the ILM for idiopathic macular holes from 1996 to 2001. Four patients were found to have eccentric iatrogenic macular holes postoperatively. Optical coherence tomography was used to evaluate these holes. Results: The idiopathic macular holes were graded from stages II to IV preoperatively with visual acuities from 6/18 to 6/60. All patients had surgery within 6 months of presentation. They underwent vitrectomy with complete separation of the posterior cortical vitreous, peeling of the ILM, injection of platelets (0.1ml), and gas tamponade with SF6 20%. Postoperatively the patients postured strictly face down for 10 days. Follow-up ranged from 8 months to 6 years. Iatrogenic eccentric macular holes were noted postoperatively. The holes were located between 3 and 6 o’clock in three patients and at 9 o’clock in the fourth patient, relative to the macula. Optical coherence tomography showed them to be full thickness and completely flat. No further intervention was necessary. No complications have arisen during follow-up. Comment: To our knowledge iatrogenic eccentric full thickness macular holes after macular hole surgery have never been reported. We believe that the location of the holes represents the initial site of ILM elevation. These holes are asymptomatic, have not required any treatment and have not caused any complications in up to 6 years of follow-up.

Patients with primary hypothyroidism may also have other underlying associated endocrinopathies, which are important to exclude. A 15-y-old girl presented w ith clinical and biochemical evidence of hypothyroidism. Conclusion: Thyroxine r eplacement unmasked Addison’s disease and precipitated an acute adrenal crisis. On physiological steroid replacement therapy, her “hypothyroidism”resolved.
