The elimination of the silica matrix of composites by HF occurred by a two-step reaction deposition of a Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40(CsHPW) salt *** used 2D hexagonal SBA-15 silica as a template for the nanofabrication of CsHPW *** CsHPW materials are stable against leaching and colloidization in polar *** catalytic performance of the nanocast CsHPW materi-als exceeded that of bulk Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40,which is the most active among the acidic HPW salts.A series of novel 1,3,5-triaryl-pyrazoline derivatives were synthesized by the reaction between chalcone and phenylhydrazine in high yield in the presence of CsHPW salt nanocrystals.

An investigation was conducted to determine the effect of addition of different levels of AK2,a fuel additive that reduces ash fusion for agricultural biomass,on the physico-chemical properties of biomass *** different biomass straws,barley,oat,and wheat were ground at two hammer mill screen sizes of 0.8 mm and 1.6 *** ground biomass sample was mixed with three levels of AK2,0.05%,0.10%,and 0.15%by mass and also a blank(no AK2)was set aside for *** were made using single-pelleting unit at a pre-set load of 4400 N corresponding to a pressure of 138.9 *** quality of pellets were determined by measuring pellet density,relaxed density,durability,and the specific energy required to make a *** having higher durability values(74%-88%)were obtained from ground straw at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm and AK2 level of 0.15%compared to other ***,hydrogen,nitrogen,and sulfur content of blank pellets and those with 0.15%AK2 at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm were *** made with 0.15%AK2 at hammer screen size of 0.8 mm,manufactured by pilot-scale pellet mill,were gasified and the tar content was *** tar content of pellets with 0.15%AK2 was significantly lower than blank pellets.

Forest fires are a significant threat to the environment, causing ecological damage, economic losses, and posing a threat to human life. Hence, timely detection and prevention of forest fires are critical to minimizing their impact. In this paper, we review the current state-of-the-art methods in forest fire detection and prevention using predictions based on weather conditions and predictions based on forest fire history. In particular, we discuss different Machine Learning (ML) models that have been used for forest fire detection. Further, we present the challenges faced when implementing the ML-based forest fire detection and prevention systems, such as data availability, model prediction errors and processing speed. Finally, we discuss how recent advances in Deep Learning (DL) can be utilized to improve the performance of current fire detection systems.

A distributed processing system (DPS) contains many autonomous nodes, which contribute their own computing power. DPS is considered a unified logical structure, operating in a distributed manner;the processing tasks are divided into fragments and assigned to various nodes for processing. That type of operation requires and involves a great deal of communication. We propose to use the decentralized approach, based on a distributed hash table, to reduce the communication overhead and remove the server unit, thus avoiding having a single point of failure in the system. This paper proposes a mathematical model and algorithms that are implemented in a dedicated experimental system. Using the decentralized approach, this study demonstrates the efficient operation of a decentralized system which results in a reduced energy emission.

Network congestion, one of the challenging tasks in communication networks, leads to queuing delays, packet loss, or the blocking of new connections. In this study, a data portal is considered as an application-based network, and a cognitive method is proposed to deal with congestion in this kind of network. Unlike previous methods for congestion control, the proposed method is an effective approach for congestion control when the link capacity and information inquiries are unknown or variable. Using sufficient training samples and the current value of the network parameters, available bandwidth is adjusted to distribute the bandwidth among the active flows. The proposed cognitive method was tested under such situations as unexpected variations in link capacity and oscillatory behavior of the bandwidth. Based on simulation results, the proposed method is capable of adjusting the available bandwidth by tuning the queue length, and provides a stable queue in the network.

Preana: Game Theory Based Prediction with Reinforcement Learning

In this article, we have developed a game theory based prediction tool, named Preana, based on a promising model developed by Professor Bruce Beuno de Mesquita. The first part of this work is dedicated to exploration of the specifics of Mesquita’s algorithm and reproduction of the factors and features that have not been revealed in literature. In addition, we have developed a learning mechanism to model the players’ reasoning ability when it comes to taking risks. Preana can predict the outcome of any issue with multiple steak-holders who have conflicting interests in economic, business, and political sciences. We have utilized game theory, expected utility theory, Median voter theory, probability distribution and reinforcement learning. We were able to reproduce Mesquita’s reported results and have included two case studies from his publications and compared his results to that of Preana. We have also applied Preana on Irans 2013 presidential election to verify the accuracy of the prediction made by Preana.

The ability to predict the future behavior of solar activity has become extremely import due to its effect on the environment near the Earth. Predictions of both the amplitude and timing of the next solar cycle will assist in estimating the various consequences of space weather. The level of solar activity is usually expressed by in- ternational sunspot number （Rz）. Several prediction techniques have been applied and have achieved varying degrees of success in the domain of solar activity prediction. We predict a solar index （Rz） in solar cycle 24 by using a neural network method. The neural network technique is used to analyze the time series of solar activity. According to our predictions of yearly sunspot number, the maximum of cycle 24 will occur in the year 2013 and will have an annual mean sunspot number of 65. Finally, we discuss our results in order to compare them with other suggested predictions.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL)is a malignancy of bone marrow lymphoid *** effective treatments,the causes of its progression or recurrence are still *** prognostic biomarkers is needed for early diagnosis and more effective *** study was performed to identify long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)involved in ALL progression by constructing a competitive endogenous RNA(ceRNA)*** lncRNAs may serve as potential new biomarkers in the development of *** GSE67684 dataset identiﬁed changes in lncRNAs and mRNAs involved in ALL *** from this study were re-analyzed,and probes related to lncRNAs were ***,miRTarBase,and miRcode databases were used to identify microRNAs(miRNAs)related to the discovered genes and *** ceRNA network was constructed,and the candidate lncRNAs were ***,the results were validated with reverse transcription quantitative real-time PCR(RT-qPCR).The ceRNA network outcomes demonstrated that the top lncRNAs associated with altered mRNAs in ALL are IRF1-AS1,MCM3AP-AS1,TRAF3IP2-AS1,HOTAIRM1,CRNDE,and *** of the subnets linked to MCM3AP-AS1,TRAF3IP2-AS1,and IRF1-AS1 indicated that these lncRNAs were considerably related to pathways associated with inﬂammation,metastasis,and *** expression levels of IRF1-AS1,MCM3AP-AS1,TRAF3IP2-AS1,CRNDE,and TUG1 were found in ALL samples compared to *** expression of MCM3AP-AS1,TRAF3IP2-AS1,and IRF1-AS1 is signiﬁcantly elevated during the progression of ALL,playing an oncogenic *** to their role in the main cancer pathways,lncRNAs could be suitable therapeutic and diagnostic targets in ALL.

On Point-Based Haptic Rendering

Haptic rendering is referred to as an approach for complementing graphical model of the virtual object with mechanics- based properties. As a result, when the user interacts with the virtual object through a haptic device, the object can graphically deflect or deform following laws of mechanics. In addition, the user is able to feel the resulting interaction force when interacting with the virtual object. This paper presents a study of defining the levels-of-detail (LOD) in point-based computational mechanics for haptic rendering of objects. The approach uses the description of object as a set of sampled points. In comparison with the finite element method (FEM), point-based approach does not rely on any predefined mesh representation and depends on the point representation of the volume of the object. Different from solving the governing equations of motion representing the entire object based on pre-defined mesh representation which is used in FEM, in point-based modeling approach, the number of points involved in the computation of displacement/deformation can be adaptively defined during the solution cycle. This frame work can offer the implementation of the notion for levels-of-detail techniques for which can be used to tune the haptic rendering environment for in- creased realism and computational efficiency. This paper presents some initial experimental studies in implementing LOD in such environment.
