Soil-borne pathogens,e.g.,Plasmodiophora brassicae,causes devastating clubroot disease,and existing identified resistance(R)genes has been broken down with the co-evolution of pathogen,threatening the future of cruciferous ***,there is a dire need to identify new R genes for developing clubroot-resistant ***,Wang et al.,2023 have reported a new R gene,WeiTsing,that confers complete resistance to Plasmodiophora brassicae,providing an opportunity to deliver broad-spectrum,durable clubroot-resistant crop varieties.

RNA interference （RNAi） of vital insect genes is a potential tool for targeted pest control. However, selection of the right target genes is a challenge because the RNAi efficacy is known to vary among insect species. Cotton mealybug, Phenacoccus solenopsis, is a phloem-feeding economically important crop pest. We evaluated the RNAi of 2 vital genes, Bursicon （PsBur） and V-ATPase （Ps V-ATPase） as potential targets in P. solenopsis for its control. PCR fragments of PsBur and PsV-ATPase were amplified using cDNA synthesized from the total RNA. The PCR amplicons were cloned into Potato virus X （PVX） to develop recombinant PVX for the inoculation ofNicotiana tabacum plants for bioassays with healthy P. solenopsis. Reverse-transcription-polymerase chain reaction （RT- PCR） was used to validate the expression oftransgenes in the recombinant-PVX-inoculated plants （treated）, and suppression of the target genes in the mealybugs exposed to them. The RT-PCR confirmed the expression of transgenes in the treated plants. Mealybug individuals on treated plants either died or showed physical deformities. Further, the population of mealybug was significantly reduced by feeding on N. tabacum expressing RNAi triggers against PsBur and Ps V-A TPase. The results conclude that RNAi is activated in P. solenopsis by feeding on N. tabacum expressing RNAi triggering elements of PsBur and Ps V-ATPase genes through recombinant PVX vector. Further, V-ATPase and Bursicon genes are potential targets for RNAi-mediated control ofP. solenopsis.

Domesticated buffaloes have been integral to rice-paddy agro-ecosystems for millennia, yet relatively little is known about the buffalo genomics. Here, we sequenced and assembled reference genomes for both swamp and river buffaloes and we re-sequenced 230 individuals(132 swamp buffaloes and 98 river buffaloes)sampled from across Asia and Europe. Beyond the many actionable insights that our study revealed about the domestication, basic physiology and breeding of buffalo, we made the striking discovery that the divergent domestication traits between swamp and river buffaloes can be explained with recent selections of genes on social behavior, digestion metabolism, strengths and milk production.

This study aims to identify the potential association of mental health and social media forum during the outbreak of COVID-19 ***-19 brings a lot of challenges to government *** the different strategies the most extensively adopted ones were lockdown,social distancing,and isolation among *** people with no mental illness history have been found with high risk of distress and psychological discomfort due to anxiety of being infected with the *** among people due to COVID-19 spread faster than the disease *** misinformation and excessive usage of social media in this pandemic era have adversely affected mental health across the *** to limited historical data,psychiatrists are finding it difficult to cure the mental illness of people resulting from the pandemic repercussion,fueled by social media *** this study the methodology used for data extraction is by considering the implications of social network platforms(such as Reddit)and levering the capabilities of a semi-supervised co-training technique-based use of Naïve Bayes(NB),Random Forest(RF),and Support Vector Machine(SVM)*** experimental results shows the efficacy of the proposed methodology to identify the mental illness level(such as anxiety,bipolar disorder,depression,PTSD,schizophrenia,and OCD)of those who are in anxious of being infected with this *** observed 1 to 5%improvement in the classification decision through the proposed method as compared to state-of-the-art classifiers.

Context:Since the end of 2019,the COVID-19 pandemic had a worst impact on world’s economy,healthcare,and *** are several aspects where the impact of COVID-19 could be *** these,one aspect is the productivity of researcher,which plays a significant role in the success of an ***:There are several factors that could be aligned with the researcher’s productivity of each domain and whose analysis through researcher’s feedback could be beneficial for decision makers in terms of their decision making and implementation of mitigation plans for the success of an ***:We perform an empirical study to investigate the substantial impact of COVID-19 on the productivity of researchers by analyzing the relevant factors through their *** study aims to find out the impact of COVID-19 on the researcher’s productivity that are working in different *** this study,we conduct a questionnaire-based analysis,which included feedback of 152 researchers of certain *** researchers are currently involved in different research ***,we perform a statistical analysis to analyze the collected responses and report the ***:The results indicate the substantial impact of COVID-19 pandemics on the researcher’s productivity in terms of mental disturbance,lack of regular meetings,and field visits for the collection of primary ***:Finally,it is concluded that researcher’s daily or weekly meetings with their supervisors and colleagues are necessary to keep them more productive in task *** findings would help the decision makers of an organization in the settlement of their plan for the success of an organization.

Ordered mesoporous carbon（CMK-3） was synthesized and functionalized with 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole groups（AMT-OCMK-3） for Hg（Ⅱ） removal from aqueous solution. The modified CMK-3 was characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2adsorption-desorption isotherm, scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The effects of solution pH, contact time, initial Hg（Ⅱ） concentration and matrix effect were studied. The adsorption data were successfully fitted with the Langmuir model, exhibiting high adsorption capacity of 450.45 mg/g of AMT-OCMK-3. In the solid-phase extraction system a series of experimental parameters such as sample flow rate, sample volume,eluent volume and concentration of the eluent solution have been investigated and established for preconcentration of Hg（Ⅱ） in aqueous solution. The results showed that the enrichment factor for Hg（Ⅱ） was 250, the precision（relative standard deviation（RSD）, %） for six replicate measurements was 2.05% and the limit of detection for Hg（Ⅱ） was achieved at0.17 μg/L.
