Lithium–sulfur(Li-S)batteries have the advantages of high theoretical specific capacity(1675 mAh g^(−1)),rich sulfur resources,low production cost,and friendly environment,which makes it one of the most promising next-generation rechargeable energy storage ***,the“shuttle effect”of polysulfide results in the passivation of metal lithium anode,the decrease of battery capacity and coulombic efficiency,and the deterioration of cycle *** realize the commercialization of Li-S batteries,its serious“shuttle effect”needs to be *** commercial separators are ineffective to suppress this effect because of its large pore ***,it is an effective strategy to modify the separator surface and introduce functional modified *** addition to the blocking strategy,the catalysis of polysulfide conversion reaction is also an important factor hindering the migration of *** this review,the principles of separator modification,functionalization,and catalysis in Li-S batteries are ***,the research trend of separator functionalization and polysulfide catalysis in the future is prospected.

Control charts are commonly used tools in statistical process control for the detection of shifts in process parameters. Shewhart-type charts are efficient for large shift values, whereas cumulative sum(CUSUM) charts are effective in detecting medium and small shifts. Control chart use commonly assumes that data are free of outliers and parameters are known or correctly estimated based on an in-control process. In practice, these assumptions are not often true because some processes occasionally have outliers. Monitoring the location parameter is usually based on mean charts, which are seriously affected by violations of these assumptions. In this paper we propose several CUSUM median control charts based on auxiliary variables, and offer comparisons with their corresponding mean control charts. To monitor the location parameter, we examined the performance of mean and median control charts in the presence and absence of outliers. Both symmetric and non-symmetric processes were studied to examine the properties of the proposed control charts to monitor the location parameter using CUSUM control charts. We used different run length measures to study in-control and out-of-control performances of CUSUM charts. Results revealed that our proposed control charts perform much better than the traditional charts in the presence of outliers. A real application of our study was provided using data on concrete compressive strength as it relates to the quality of cement manufacturing.

Conventional flat planting is commonly used for growing wheat in Pakistan and the crop is irrigated by flood irrigation, but it leads to ineffective use of applied nitrogen owing to poor aeration and leaching and volatilization losses. The practice also results in greater crop lodging, lower water use efficiency, and crusting of the soil surface. In contrast, bed planting of wheat not only saves water but improves fertilizer use efficiency and grain yield. Three years of pooled data from the present study showed that wheat planting on beds and nitrogen application at 120 kg ha-1produced 15.06% higher grain yield than flat planting at the same nitrogen rate. Similarly, 25.04%, 15.02%, 14.59%, and 29.83% higher nitrogen uptake, nitrogen use, and agronomic and recovery efficiencies, respectively, were recorded for bed compared to flat planting. Wheat planting on beds with a nitrogen application of80 kg ha-1gave a yield similar to that of flat planting with 120 kg ha-1nitrogen. However,the economic return was 29% higher in bed planting as compared to flat planting, when nitrogen was applied at 120 kg ha-1.

The error correction performance of Belief Propagation(BP)decoding for polar codes is satisfactory compared with the Successive Cancellation(SC)***,it has to complete a fixed number of iterations,which results in high computational *** necessitates an intelligent identification of successful BP decoding for early termination of the decoding process to avoid unnecessary iterations and minimize the computational complexity of BP *** paper proposes a hybrid technique that combines the“paritycheck”with the“G-matrix”to reduce the computational complexity of BP decoder for polar *** proposed hybrid technique takes advantage of the parity-check to intelligently identify the valid codeword at an early stage and terminate the BP decoding process,which minimizes the overhead of the G-matrix and reduces the computational complexity of BP *** explore a detailed mechanism incorporating the parity bits as outer code and prove that the proposed hybrid technique minimizes the computational complexity while preserving the BP error correction ***,mathematical formulation for the proposed hybrid technique that minimizes the computation cost of the G-matrix is *** performance of the proposed hybrid technique is validated by comparing it with the state-of-the-art early stopping criteria for BP *** results show that the proposed hybrid technique reduces the iterations by about 90%of BP decoding in a high Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)(i.e.,3.5~4 dB),and approaches the error correction performance of G-matrix and conventional BP decoder for polar codes.

Vibration characteristics of FGM circular cylindrical shells filled with fluid using wave propagation approach

The vibration characteristics of a functionally graded material circular cylindrical shell filled with fluid are examined with a wave propagation approach. The shell is filled with an incompressible non-viscous fluid. Axial modal dependence is approximated by exponential functions. A theoretical study of shell vibration frequencies is analyzed for simply supported-simply supported, clamped-simply supported, and clamped-clamped boundary conditions with the fluid effect. The validity and the accuracy of the present method are confirmed by comparing the present results with those available in the literature. Good agreement is observed between the two sets of results.

The extracellular matrix surrounding oligodendrocytes plays an important role during myelination and remyelination in the *** many cases,the microenvironment surrounding demyelination lesions contains inhibitory molecules,which lead to repair ***,blocking the activity of these inhibitory factors in the extracellular matrix should lead to more successful *** the central nervous system,oligodendrocytes form the myelin *** performed primary cell culture and found that a natural increase in fibronectin promoted the proliferation of oligodendrocyte progenitors during the initial stage of remyelination while inhibiting oligodendrocyte ***-L-ornithine blocked these inhibitory effects without compromising fibronectin’s pro-proliferation *** showed that poly-L-ornithine activated the Erk1/2 signaling pathway that is necessary in the early stages of differentiation,as well as PI3K signaling pathways that are needed in the mid-late *** poly-L-ornithine was tested in a lysolecithin-induced animal model of focal demyelination,it enhanced myelin regeneration and promoted motor function *** findings suggest that poly-L-ornithine has the potential to be a treatment option for clinical myelin sheath injury.
