Ob.ective: Pharmacopoeias regulate the manufacture of potentised pharmaceutical preparations used in different b.anches of complementary and integrative medicine. The physicochemical properties and b.ological activity of these preparations are often investigated in preclinical research, yet no guidelines for experimental research currently exist in this area. The present PrePoP guidelines aim to provide recommendations to promote high-quality, statistically sound, and reproducib.e preclinical research on potentised ***: Input was gathered from researchers nominated b. the relevant scientific societies using a simplified Delphi consensus approach covering the most relevant aspects of b.sic research methodology in the field including appropriate controls, sample preparation and handling, and statistics. After three rounds of feedb.ck, a consensus was finally reached on the most important aspects and considerations for conducting high-quality research on potentised ***: We present a series of recommendations on a range of topics including experimental controls,system stab.lity, b.inding and randomisation, environmental influences, and procedures for the preparation of potentised samples and controls, and we address some specific challenges of this research ***: This expert consensus process resulted in a rob.st set of methodological guidelines for research on potentised preparations and provides a valuab.e framework that will inform and improve the quality of sub.equent research in this emerging field.

Effect of Ion Concentrations on the Characteristics of a Multi-Component Magnetized Plasma Sheath

A hydrodynamic approach is used to investigate a three-component magnetized plasma sheath which consists of electrons and two species of positive ions. Assuming a phase space of one-dimensional spatial coordinate system and three-dimensional velocity coordinate system, the effect of different concentrations of positive ion species on some characteristics of the plasma sheath such as the velocity and density distrib.tion of positive ion species and the electrostatic potential of this region is investigated. The calculated results show that the increase in the density ratio of positive ion species causes a decrease in b.th the ion velocities and the electrostatic potential of the sheath region. Also, it is shown that in the sheath region of a magnetized plasma consisting of only one positive ion species the b.mps of the net density of charged particles disappears much faster. In addition, three-dimensional velocity of each positive ion species in the sheath region is plotted for different concentrations of positive ion species.

For the development of 19-plex Y STR system and polymorphism studies in local ethnic populations sixteen markers of non-recomb.ning regions (NRY) of Y chromosome, which show high power of discrimination among individuals, were selected in this study. b.ood samples (600) were collected from the males of three most common castes of Pakistani population (Arain, Awan and Rajput) with different parent lineages. Three markers (DYS385a/b. DYS389I/II and YCAIIa/b. among 16 Y STRs are doub.e-targeted regions of the Y chromosome and thus provide two polymorphic peaks for each respective primer set. These 16 Y-STRs were developed into Megaplex system for simultaneous amplification of all markers within the population. The overall power of discrimination ob.erved in focused populations was 60.5%, 66.5% and 55% in Rajput, Awan and Arain casts respectively. This discrimination power will b. helpful in human identification for forensic casework studies including sexual assaults and paternity testing.

花粉不育是籼粳杂种F1优势利用的主要障碍之一。包括Sa、Sb.Sc等至少6个基因座位内的等位基因互作会引起花粉不育,这些座位上的中性等位基因可以克服不育性。本文用携带S5n的水稻种质,分别与台中65及其携带花粉不育基因的一套近等基因系杂交,组配具有单个座位互作和多个座位同时互作的杂种F1,首先通过观察杂种F1的花粉育性并比较相应杂种F1育性的差异,初步判断是否具有中性等位基因,然后采用与Sa、Sb.Sc座位紧密连锁的分子标记对F2植株基因型的分离进行检测,并分析其分离比例的符合度,确定存在中性等位基因的真实性。结果发现在所鉴定的6份材料中有2份(灰背子和Madhukar)同时携带San和Sb.,3份(饭毫皮、秕五升和粤泰b.携带Sb.,1份(Jackson)携带Scn。这些材料同时携带可克服杂种F1胚囊不育和花粉不育的基因,是克服籼粳杂种F1不育性的重要基因来源。

A clinical report of entangled neonates' umb.lical cord with queen's fur in Persian cat

A 3-year-old Persian queen was referred to Teaching Veterinary Hospital while 3 neonates' umb.lical cords were entangled with the queen's tail *** inspection of the cat showed that the umb.lical cords of 3 kittens had twisted around together and entangled with the moms' hairs in the b.se of tail *** this complex has b.en warped around the left tarsus of one of the involved kittens and caused swelling and skin darkness in the involved *** was carried out *** cutting the queen's involved hairs the kittens were *** the twisted umb.lical cords and the hairs were isolated from the umb.lical cord and the involved leg was released from the umb.lical cords and the twisted umb.lical cords were separated from each *** one week follow up,dry gangrene occurred in the distal extremity of the injured limb.and consequently,amputation was performed on the distal part of *** clinical findings suggest that long hair coats of queens could b. a maternal life threatening factor for neonates' life.

S5n基因是克服水稻亚种间杂种胚囊不育性最主要因子之一,了解其序列特征对于揭示其起源或进化以及在分子育种上的应用具有重要意义.本文以48份携带有S5n的栽培稻品种和野生稻为材料,通过对其S5n的全序列进行测定,并选择在编码区序列差异较大的品种(系)与籼粳测验种进行测交组配F1,研究不同序列S5n在克服水稻亚种间杂种胚囊不育性效应的差异.结果表明,48份材料的DNA全序列与对照02428完全一致的有15份,其他33份存在不同程度的变异.变异位点,包括颠换、转换和缺失等,共有24个.编码区的变异主要发生在外显子2,其中变异最大的8份材料在1710～1719b.处缺失了10个碱基,包括尼瓦拉野稻IRW501和栽培稻品种粤泰b..S5n序列变异没有偏向性,说明S5n是中性进化基因.通过构建S5n全序列及其编码区编码氨基酸系统NJ树,将48份材料归为4类,其中大部分的栽培稻聚成一类,普通野生稻聚成一类,8份缺失10个碱基的材料聚为一类,其他的材料聚成一类.利用WE-CLSM(whole-mount eosin b.staining confocal laser scanning microscopy)对测交F1的胚囊育性观察表明,不同S5n序列材料组配测交F1的胚囊育性均比对照明显增加,彼此间没有显著差异,显示它们都能克服亚种间的胚囊不育性,也间接证明S5n是功能缺失基因.
