Pore Size Distribution as a Soil Physical Quality Index for Agricultural and Pasture Soils in Northeastern Iran

Assessment of soil quality is important for optimum production and natural resources conservation. Agricultural and pasture soil qualities of Deh-Sorkh region located at south of Mashhad, northeastern Iran were assessed using the integrated quality index (IQI) and Nemero quality index (NQI) models in combination with two datasets, i.e., total data set (TDS) and minimum data set (MDS). In this study 6 soil properties considered as MDS were selected out of 18 properties as TDS using principle component analysis. Soil samples were divided into 3 groups based on optimum ranges of 8 soil physical quality indicators. Soil samples with the most indicators at optimum range were selected as group 1 and the samples having fewer indicators at optimum range were located in groups 2 and 3. Optimum ranges of soil pore size distribution functions were also determined as soil physical quality indices based on 8 soil physical quality indicators. Pore size distribution curves of group 1 were considered as the optimum pore size functions. The results showed that relatively high organic carbon contents could improve pore size distribution. Mean comparisons of soil physical quality indicators demonstrated that mean weight diameter of wet aggregates, structural stability index, the slope of moisture retention curve at inflection point, and plant available water content in agricultural land use decreased significantly in relation to pasture land use. In addition, the results demonstrated that the studied MDS could be a suitable representative of TDS. 78% of pasture soils had the optimum pore size distribution functions, while this parameter for agricultural soils was only 13%. In general, the soils of the studied region showed high limitations for plant growth according to the studied indicators.

Deep Bimodal Fusion Approach for Apparent Personality Analysis

Personality distinguishes individuals’ patterns of feeling, thinking,and behaving. Predicting personality from small video series is an excitingresearch area in computer vision. The majority of the existing research concludespreliminary results to get immense knowledge from visual and Audio(sound) modality. To overcome the deficiency, we proposed the Deep BimodalFusion (DBF) approach to predict five traits of personality-agreeableness,extraversion, openness, conscientiousness and neuroticism. In the proposedframework, regarding visual modality, the modified convolution neural networks(CNN), more specifically Descriptor Aggregator Model (DAN) areused to attain significant visual modality. The proposed model extracts audiorepresentations for greater efficiency to construct the long short-termmemory(LSTM) for the audio modality. Moreover, employing modality-based neuralnetworks allows this framework to independently determine the traits beforecombining them with weighted fusion to achieve a conclusive prediction of thegiven traits. The proposed approach attains the optimal mean accuracy score,which is 0.9183. It is achieved based on the average of five personality traitsand is thus better than previously proposed frameworks.

Information schema constructs for instantiation and composition of system manifestation features

Complementing our previous publications, this paper presents the information schema constructs （ISCs） that underpin the programming of specific system manifestation feature （SMF） orientated information management and composing system models. First, we briefly present （1） the general process of pre-embodiment design with SMFs, （2） the procedures of creating genotypes and phenotypes of SMFs, （3） the specific procedure of instantiation of phenotypes of SMFs, and （4） the procedure of system model management and processing. Then, the chunks of information needed for instantiation of phenotypes of SMFs are discussed, and the ISCs designed for instantiation presented. Afterwards, the information management aspects of system modeling are addressed. Methodologically, system modeling involves （1） placement of phenotypes of SMF in the modeling space, （2） combining them towards the desired architecture and operation, （3） assigning values to the parameters and checking the satisfac- tion of constraints, and （4） storing the system model in the SMFs-based warehouse database. The final objective of the reported research is to develop an SMFs-based toolbox to support modeling of cyber-physical systems （CPSs）.

Automobile power windows are mechanisms that can be opened and shut with the press of a *** these windows can comfort the effort of occupancy to move the window,failure to recognize the person’s body part at the right time will result in damage and in some cases,loss of that *** anti-pinch mechanism is an excellent choice to solve this problem,which detects the obstacle in the glass path immediately and moves it *** this paper,an optimal solution H_/H_(∞)is presented for fault detection of the anti-pinch window *** anti-pinch makes it possible to detect an obstacle and prevent damages through sampling parameters such as current consumption,the speed and the position of DC *** this research,a speed-based method is used to detect the *** order to secure the anti-pinch window,an optimal algorithm based on a fault detection observer is *** the residual design,the proposed fault detection algorithm uses theDCmotor angular velocity *** against disturbances and sensitivity to the faults are considered as an optimization problem based on Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization ***,an optimal filter for solving the fault problem is designed using the H_/H_(∞)*** results show that the simulated anti-pinch window is pretty sensitive to the fault,in the sense that it can detect the obstacle in 50 ms after the fault occurrence.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has resulted in significant morbidity and mortality since its first case was discovered in December *** then,multiple countries have witnessed a healthcare system collapse due to the overwhelming demand for COVID-19 *** measures have been taken globally in order to curb the spread of the ***,those measures have led to the disruption of other aspects of healthcare,increasing the burden due to other medical *** have also stepped back in achieving the ambitious goal set in place by World Health Organization to eliminate viral hepatitis as a public threat by *** B and C are chronic conditions with a significant worldwide burden,and COVID-19 has resulted in many hepatitis elimination programs slowing or stopping *** this review,we elucidate the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on the interventions targeted towards the elimination of hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C *** of the salient features that we have covered in this review include hindrance to screening and diagnostic tests,neonatal vaccinations,the transmission dynamics affecting hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus,role of limited awareness,restrictions to treatment accessibility,and disparity in healthcare *** have highlighted the major issues and provided recommendations in order to tackle those challenges.

Short-term effectiveness of radiochemoembolization for selected hepatic metastases with a combination protocol

AIM： To introduce the combination method of radio- chemoembolization for the treatment of selected he- patic metastases. METHODS： Twenty patients with biopsy proven hepat- ic metastases were selected from those who underwent transarterial radiochemoembolization, a novel combina- tion protocol, between .lanuary 2009 and July 2010. Patients had different sources of liver metastasis. The treatment included transarterial administration of three chemotherapeutic drugs （mitomycin, doxorubicin and cisplatin）, followed by embolization with large （50-150 μm） radioisotope particles of chromic 32R Multiphasic computer tomography or computer tomography stud- ies, with and without contrast medium injections, were performed for all patients for a short-term period before and after the treatment sessions. The short-term effec- tiveness of this procedure was evaluated by modified response evaluation criteria in solid tumors （mRECIST）, which also takes necrosis into account. The subjective percentage of necrosis was also assessed. The re- sponse evaluation methods were based on the changes in size, number, and the enhancement patterns of the lesions between the pre- and post-treatment imaging studies. RESULTS： Patients had liver metastasis from colorectal carcinomas, breast cancer, lung cancer and carcinoid tumors. The response rate based on the mRECIST criteria was 5% for complete response, 60% for par- tial response, 10% for stable disease, and 25% for progressive disease. Regarding the subjective necrosis percentage, 5% of patients had complete response, 50% had partial response, 25% had stable disease, and 20% had progressive disease. Based on traditional RECIST criteria, 3 patients （15%） had partial response, 13 patients （65%） had stable disease, and 4 patients （20%） had disease progression. In most patients, colorectal carcinoma was the source of metastasis （13 patients）. Based on the mRECIST criteria, 8 out of these 13 patients had partial responses, while one remained stable

Diagnostic dilemma of abdominal tuberculosis in non-HIV patients:An ongoing challenge for physicians

AIM： To assess the clinical features, yield of the diagnostic tests and outcome of abdominal tuberculosis in non-HIV patients.METHODS： Adult patients with discharge diagnosis of abdominal tuberculosis （based upon; positive microbiology, histo-pathology, imaging or response to trial of anti TB drugs） during the period 1999 to 2004 were analyzed. Patient＇s characteristics, laboratory investigations, radiological, endoscopic and surgical findings were evaluated. Abdominal site involved （intestinal, peritoneal, visceral, and nodal） and response to treatment was also noted.RESULTS： There were 209 patients enrolled. One hundred and twenty-three （59%） were females. Symptoms were abdominal pain 294 （93%）, fever 234 （64%）, night sweats 99 （48%）, weight loss 98 （47%）, vomiting 75 （36%）, ascites 74 （35%）, constipation 64 （31%）, and diarrhea 25 （12%）. Sub-acute and acute intestinal obstruction was seen in 28 （13%） and 12 （11%） respectively. Radiological evidence of pulmonary tuberculosis was found in 134 （64%） patients. Basis of diagnosis of abdominal tuberculosis were radiology （Chest and barium X-Rays, Ultrasound and CT scan abdomen） in 111 （53%） and histo-pathology （tissue obtained during surgery, colonoscopy, CT or ultrasound guided biopsy, laparoscopy and upper gastro intestinal endoscopy） in 87 （42%） patients. Mycobacterium culture was positive in 6/87 （7%） patients and response to therapeutic trial of anti tubercular drugs was the basis of diagnosis in 5 （2.3%） patients. Predominant site of involvement by abdominal TB was intestinal in 103 （49%） patients, peritoneal in 87 （42%） patients, solid viscera in 10 （5%） and nodal in 9 （4%） patients. Response to medical treatment was found in 158 （76%） patients and additionally 35 （17%） patients also underwent surgery. In a 425 ± 120 d follow-up period 12 patients died （eight post operative） and no case of relapse was noted.CONCLUSION： Abdominal TB has diverse and nonspecific symptomatology.
