Performance Evaluation of MWCNTs Reinforced Cement Mortar Composites using Natural and Commercial Surfactants

An efficient and promising approach for effectively dispersing multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)in cementitious composites has been *** naturally occurring organic extracts from species of indigenously known‘Keekar’trees scattered along tropical and sub-tropical regions;is found as an exceptional replacement to the non-natural commercial *** the initial phase of investigation,ideal surfactant’s content required for efficient dispersion of MWCNTs in solution was determined using ultra-violet *** experimental investigations were then extended to five different cement composite formulations containing 0.0,0.025,0.05,0.08 and 0.10%MWCNTs by weight of *** was observed that the natural surfactant produced efficient dispersion at much reduced cost(approx.14%)compared with the commercial *** estimated weight efficiency factor f was found 6.5 times higher for the proposed sustainable replacement to the conventional along with remarkable increase of 23%in modulus of rupture on 0.08 wt%addition of *** strength enhancement,the dispersed MWCNTs also improved the first crack and ultimate fracture toughness by 51.5%and 35.9%,*** field emission scanning electron microscopy of the cryofractured samples revealed efficient dispersion of MWCNTs in the matrix leading to the phenomenon of effective crack bridging and crack branching in the composite ***,the proposed scheme significantly reduced the early age volumetric shrinkage by 39%.

FCS样锌指蛋白(FLZ)与植物的生长发育和逆境胁迫反应相关。水稻的FLZ基因家族分析和功能研究较少。本研究利用TBtools对水稻基因组Blast,鉴定到29个OsFLZ家族基因成员,并分析了相关基因位置、基因结构、motif和启动子顺式作用元件等特征。随后,通过水稻CREP数据库研究了FLZ家族成员的全生育期组织表达模式,并发现其中的OsFLZ13基因在开花前的花药中特异高水平表达。随后β-D-葡萄糖苷酸酶(GUS)染色显示,OsFLZ13在花药发育的第8阶段开始表达,并在开花前的第14阶段表达量最高。用CRISPR/Cas9基因编辑获得的突变体植株结实率显著下降。相比野生型中花11的94%结实率,Osflz13-1和Osflz13-2的结实率分别只有44%和36%。本研究表明OsFLZ13参与花药发育以及花粉育性的调控,为进一步研究该基因及其家族基因的功能提供参考,同时对水稻雄性不育利用具有潜在的价值。

To editor:Wernicke encephalopathy(WE)is an acute neurological disorder caused by a deficiency of vitamin B1(thiamine),with a prevalence of 1.3%in autopsy studies.1 Eighty-four percent of patients with WE will develop Korsakoff syndrome,which is characterized by amnesia and confusion.2 Although WE is more common in alcoholics,it can also be caused by vomiting,malnourishment,and other situations.

Due to ban on using antibiotics in feed industry,awareness of using natural feed additives have led to a great *** interest of plants phenolic compounds as a potential natural antioxidant source has been considered in research community due to their predictable potential role as feed additives in poultry and swine ***,the mode of action for their functional role and dosage recommendation in animal diets are still remain *** into account,the present review study highlights an outline about the mode of action of phenolic compound and their experimental uses in poultry and swine focusing on the growth performance,antioxidant function,immune function,antimicrobial role and overall health status,justified with the past findings till to ***,the present review study concluded that supplementation of phenolic compounds as natural feed additives may have a role on the antioxidant,immunity,antimicrobial and overall production performance in poultry and swine.

Evaluation of sample scale effect on geomechanical tests

The size of the rock specimen affects the stress concentrates in the vicinity of the top/bottom of the rock specimen during the evaluation of the geomechanical parameters in the laboratory,which causes un-reliable ***,the appropriate size for geomechanical evaluation is not well understood yet because of limitations in the sampling and *** this study,a series of numerical simulations using a finite element package was conducted to investigate the effect of sample aspect ratio,fluid saturation,and porosity,on the mechanical behavior of the rock under elastic and poroelastic *** addition,two concepts,stress/strain homogeneity index(SHI)and representative elementary volume(REV),were developed to find out the appropriate sample *** results show that the presence of stiff platens,which are dissimilar to the specimen material,causes significant stress concentration in the two ends of the *** concentration of stress in the specimen reduces when the aspect ratio *** optimum aspect ratio(length-to-diameter equal to 3)was observed by SHI analysis which after that the changes in stress concentration are *** REV size analysis confirms the obtained optimum aspect ratio by SHI *** saturated specimens show a lower magnitude of stress than applied stress because of the presence of pore pressure,which can carry a portion of the *** higher void ratio results in lower strength of the *** study could be beneficial for the better design of geomechanical tests to have reliable results.

Geomechanics as the knowledge of rock deformation and stability is an indispensable part of all field development *** geomechanical analyses leads to a safer and more efficient operation otherwise different kinds of instability and distortion might *** this study,the geomechanical behavior of Ilam and Sarvak formations of an oil field in southwest of Iran was *** research objectives can be summarized as wellbore stability evaluation and predicting the value of reservoir subsidence due to pressure drop as a result of reservoir fluid *** fulfill these,a set of petrophysical logs run in the exploration well of this green field were ***,using empirical correlations and statistical methods,required data for evaluating wellbore stability during drilling,specifying safe mud window to discover reservoir breakdown pressure,predicting the possibility of wellbore collapse in field lifetime,and assessing reservoir subsidence were *** results revealed that the average subsidence value as the consequence of production within 21 years is 0.275 ft Which is not *** terms of wellbore stability,it was concluded that all horizontal and vertical wells remain stable during this time *** to conclude,field development is not associated with alarming incidents from geomechanical aspect.

Prediction of rotary drilling penetration rate in iron ore oxides using rock engineering system

Prediction of the drilling penetration rate is one of the important parameters in mining operations. This parameter has a direct impact on the mine planning and cost of mining operations, Generally, effective parameters on the penetration rate is divided into two classes： rock mass properties and specifications of the machine, The chemical components of intact rock have a direct effect in determining rock mechan- ical properties, Theses parameters usually have not been investigated in any research on the rock drill- ability, In this study, physical and mechanical properties of iron ore were studied based on the amount of magnetite percent, According to the results of the tests, the effective parameters on the pen- etration rate of the rotary drilling machines were divided into three classes： specifications of the machi- nes, rock mass properties and chemical component of intact rock, Then, the rock drillahility was studied using rock engineering systems, The results showed that feed, rotation, rock mass index and iron oxide percent have important effect on penetration rate, Then a quadratic equation with 0,896 determination coefficient has been obtained, Also, the results showed that chemical components can he described as new parameters in rotary drill penetration rate,

Mechanical behavior of salt rocks: A geomechanical model

The geomechanical behavior of salt rocks is a significant concern during drilling and development operations in some hydrocarbon reservoirs and underground gas storage *** this study,the static and dynamic salt rock geomechanical properties from a field in southwest Iran were evaluated using experiments such as waves'velocities,and thermo-mechanical coupled uniaxial and triaxial compression *** a result and by considering both the petrophysical well logs and laboratory data of the waves’velocities,it is observed that the elastic properties of the core samples are concentrated within a narrow range unless an abnormality causes *** results of uniaxial compression tests showed that rock strength decreases with increasing temperature *** addition,the reduction of rock strength was observed with increasing porosity of the core samples as *** the case of triaxial compression tests,applying confining pressure on the core sample caused an increment in rock strength,while temperature decreased rock *** temperature also increased cohesion and decreases friction *** ratio of changes in stress to strain was used to investigate the dynamic changes in the geomechanical *** maximum 0.25 damage factor was observed for the core samples for different definitions of the damage ***,we propose a novel analytical model to predict the stress-strain behavior of salt rocks at different *** model was validated using experimental results and indicated a satisfactory accuracy.

Entropy Evolution in the Interior Volume of a Charged f(R) Black Hole

Based on the 4-dimensional black hole solution of f(R) theory coupled to a nonlinear Maxwell field, we calculate the interior volume of a charged f(R) black hole using the method proposed by Christodoulou and *** massless scalar field in the interior volume and Hawking radiation carrying only energy, we calculate the entropy of the scalar field inside a charged f(R) black hole and investigate the evolution of the entropy under Hawking radiation. In the meantime, the evolution of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy under Hawking radiation has also been calculated. Based on these results, the proportional relation is obtained between the evolution of the scalar field entropy and the evolution of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy under Hawking radiation. According to the result, we investigate and discuss how the modified coefficient b in f(R) gravity theory affects the evolution relation between the two types of entropy. It is shown that the radiation rate for Hawking radiation of a charged f(R) black hole can increase with the modified coefficient b.

Natural capsicum extract replacing chlortetracycline enhances performance via improving digestive enzyme activities,antioxidant capacity,anti-inflammatory function,and gut health in weaned pigs

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of natural capsicum extract(NCE,containing 2%natural capsaicin,the rest is carrier)replacing chlortetracycline(CTC)on performance,digestive enzyme activities,antioxidant capacity,inflammatory cytokines,and gut health in weaned pigs.A total of 108 weaned pigs(Duroc×[Landrace×Yorkshire],initial body weight-8.68±1.34 kg;weaned on d 28)were randomly allotted into 3 treatments with 6 replicate pens per treatment(3 barrows and 3 gilts per pen).The treatments include a corn-soybean meal basal diet as a control group(CON),a CTC group(basal diet+CTC at 75 mg/kg),and a NCE group(basal diet--NEC at 80 mg/kg).Compared with CON and CTC,NCE had increased(P<0.05)average daily gain in phase 2(d 15 to 28)and overall(d 1 to 28),and higher(P<0.05)apparent total tract digestibility of gross energy,dry matter,crude protein,and organic matter in phase 1(d 1 to 14).These pigs also had increased(P<0.05)pancrelipase activity in pancreas,α-amylase,lipase and protease activities in the jejunal mucosa,and lipase activity in the ileal mucosa on d ***,NCE had increased(P<0.05)the contents of growth hormone,β-endorphin,5-hydroxytryptamine,total antioxidant capacity,total superoxide dismutase,catalase,and IL-10,as well as decreased(P<0.05)contents of malondialdehyde,tumor nuclear factor-a,interferon-y,and interleukin-6 in serum on d 28 compared with CON and *** showed higher(P<0.05)propionic acid,butyric acid and total volatile fatty acids(VFA)contents,and increased(P<0.05)relative abundance of Faecalibacterium in colon,as well as higher(P<0.05)propionic acid and total volatile fatty acids in cecum on d 28 compared with *** conclusion,NCE replacing CTC could enhance performance via improving digestive enzyme activities,antioxidant capacity,anti-inflammatory function,gut VFA composition and microbiota community in weaned pigs,and it could be used as a potential target for the development of feed additives.
