Background:Data on the evolution of recent small sub-cortical infarcts are limited,especially in the *** studies have reported a large heterogeneity in cavitation and infarct location;therefore,the present study assessed the morphology of small subcortical infarcts in the basal ganglia in a Chinese ***:Patients who had experienced a recent,single,small sub-cortical infarct in the basal ganglia and received at least one follow-up magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)scan were retrospectively identified from January 2014 to June *** to followup imaging,baseline infarct size,vascular risk factors,and other clinical data,as well as the morphologic changes of the index infarct and surrounding white matter were ***,clinical and MRI characteristics were respectively compared among three groups(white matter hyper-intensitie[WMH]*** ***)and between with and without new WMH formation *** addition,logistic regression analyses were performed in investigating the determinate independent predictors for new WMH ***:Seventy-eight subjects were included with a median follow-up time of 304 days(range:124–552 days).We found a significant reduction in infarct size at follow-up:46 of 78(59.0%)infarctions showed some degree of cavitation,19 of 78(24.4%)index lesions resembled non-cavitated WMH,and 13 of 78(16.7%)infarcts had disappeared at follow-up *** factors were found to be associated with differential outcomes of the *** addition,8 of 78(10.3%)patients demonstrated new WMH formation surrounding the index infarct;white matter progression(odds ratio=15.95,95%confidence interval=1.65–153.99;P=0.017)was an independent risk factor of new WMH ***:More than half of the small sub-cortical infarcts in the basal ganglia progressed to cavities,demonstrating that these infarcts can be reduced and go *** presence of new WMH around the infarct may be indicative of the worsening p

The hydrodynamics and their evolution on the Upper Yangtze Block during the Ordovician-Silurian transition period remain unclear. The present study is an assessment of how regional and global events may have influenced the hydrodynamic evolution based on a planar lamination investigation of the shales from the Upper Yangtze Block. Analyses of large thin sections and argon-ion polished thin sections using field emission-scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) showed that there are four types of planar lamination, namely, silty graded planar lamination(SGPL), silt-clay graded planar lamination(SCGPL), silt-clay interlaminated planar lamination(SCIPL), and paper-like planar lamination(PPL). SGPL is formed by turbidity current with a flow speed less than 15 cm/s. SCGPL is formed by turbidity currents with a flow speed less than 15 cm/s for normal grading type and 15-25 cm/s for alternating grading type. SCIPL has a continuum of sparsely spaced type, closely spaced type, and alternating type, which is formed by bottom current with an increasing flow speed from 15 to 25 cm/s to above 25 cm/s. PPL can be divided into normal grading and composite grading types. The former is formed by vertical settling, while the latter is formed by bottom current with a flow speed of 5-15 cm/s. Vertically, types of planar lamination varied from SGPL to PPL and then SCIPL manifesting the waxing and waning of flow speed with a positive excursion at graptolite biozone Metabolograptus extraordinarius(WF4) and a negative excursion at graptolite biozone Persculptograptus persculptus(LM1). Background:With the wide application of endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for early gastric neoplasms,metachronous gastric neoplasms(MGN)have gradually become a *** study aimed to analyze the characteristics of MGN and evaluate the treatment and follow-up outcomes of MGN ***:A total of 814 patients were retrospectively *** these patients were treated by ESD for early gastric cancer or gastric dysplasia between November 2006 and September 2019 at The First Medical Center of Chinese People’s Liberation Army General *** risk factors for MGN were analyzed using Cox hazard proportional ***,the cumulative incidence,the correlation of initial lesions and MGN lesions,and the treatment and follow-up outcomes of MGN patients were ***:A total of 4.5%(37/814)of patients had MGN after curative *** 3-,5-,and 7-year cumulative incidences of MGN were 3.5%,5.1%,and 6.9%,respectively,and ultimately reaching a plateau of 11.3%at 99 months after *** was no significant correlation between initial lesions and MGN lesions in terms of gross type(P=0.178),location(long axis:P=0.470;short axis:P=0.125),and histological type(P=0.832).Cox multivariable analysis found that initial multiplicity was the only independent risk factor of MGN(hazard ratio:4.3,95%confidence interval:2.0-9.4,P<0.001).Seventy-three percent of patients with MGN were treated by endoscopic *** follow-up,two patients with MGN died of gastric cancer with lymph node *** disease-specific survival rate was significantly lower in patients with MGN than that in patients without MGN(94.6%vs.99.6%,P=0.006).Conclusions:The MGN rate gradually increased with follow-up time within 99 months after curative gastric ***,regular and long-term surveillance endoscopy may be helpful,especially for patients with initial multiple neoplasms.

Polymeric microwave actuators combining tissue-like softness with programmablemicrowave-responsive deformation hold great promise for mobile intelligentdevices and bionic soft robots. However, their application is challenged by restricted electromagneticsensitivity and intricate sensing coupling. In this study, a sensitized polymericmicrowave actuator is fabricated by hybridizing a liquid crystal polymer with Ti3C2Tx(MXene). Compared to the initial counterpart, the hybrid polymer exhibits unique spacechargepolarization and interfacial polarization, resulting in significant improvements of230% in the dielectric loss factor and 830% in the apparent efficiency of electromagneticenergy harvest. The sensitized microwave actuation demonstrates as the shortenedresponse time of nearly 10 s, which is merely 13% of that for the initial shape memory polymer. Moreover, the ultra-low content of MXene (upto 0.15 wt%) benefits for maintaining the actuation potential of the hybrid polymer. An innovative self-powered sensing prototype that combinesdriving and piezoelectric polymers is developed, which generates real-time electric potential feedback (open-circuit potential of ~ 3 mV) duringactuation. The polarization-dominant energy conversion mechanism observed in the MXene-polymer hybrid structure furnishes a new approachfor developing efficient electromagnetic dissipative structures and shows potential for advancing polymeric electromagnetic intelligent devices.

Nickel sulfide exhibits excellent catalytic activity in the electrochemical 2,5-hydroxymethylfurfural oxidation reaction(HMFOR).However,due to the polydispersity of nanoparticles,it is difficult to establish a clear structure-activity relationship at the atomic *** this work,we have successfully synthesized atomically precise Ni_(6)(PET)_(12)and Ni_(4)(PET)_(8)clusters(PET:2-phenylethanethiol)for ***^(2+)and S_(2)-with atomic ratio of 1:2 was mainly existed in Ni_(6)(PET)_(12)and Ni_(4)(PET)_(8)to form Ni-S *** electrochemical test results have suggested both Ni_(6)(PET)_(12)and Ni_(4)(PET)_(8)displayed outstanding electrocatalytic ability for *** Ni_(6)(PET)_(12)exhibited better electrocatalytic ability than Ni_(4)(PET)_(8)with higher current density,lower overpotential and faster reaction *** superior electrochemical ability of Ni_(6)(PET)_(12)may be due to the enhanced adsorption towards HMF molecule with strong interaction towards hydroxyl group and furan ***,it found that the Ni^(2+)species in Ni_(6)(PET)_(12)could rapidly oxidized into Ni^(3+)species,which could spontaneously capture electron and proton from HMF for *** theoretical calculation demonstrated that the Ni_(6)(PET)_(12)process lower free energy barrier than Ni_(4)(PET)_(8)to display excellent electrocatalytic *** work is of great significance for designing efficient electrocatalysts for HMFOR.
