Antimicrobial activity of metal-substituted cobalt ferrite nanoparticles synthesized by sol-gel technique

metal-substituted cobalt ferrites [mxCo(1-x)Fe2O4(m=Zn,Cu,mn;x=0.0,0.25,0.5,and 0.75)]were synthesized via a sol-gel *** ferrite structures were confirmed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,surface analysis using the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method,and energy-dispersive X-ray *** activity of these ferrites against selected pathogenic microbes was *** structures remained cubic spinel phases after substitution of *** strongly influenced the microstructure and homoge- neous grain *** particle size of the ferrites increased linearly with increase in their annealing *** surface area of zinc cobalt ferrite nanoparticles (ZCFO)was 52.56m^2/g,the average pore size was 1.84nm,and pore volume was 0.136mL/*** ferrites showed antimicrobial activity toward all pathogens *** these,the most powerful was ZCFO,showing zones of inhibition of 13.0mm against Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus and 12.0mm against Candida ***-irradiated ZCFO nanoparticles (150.0kGy)maintained higher antimicrobial activity than non-irradiated particles,e.g. being active toward *** (16.0mm).ZCFO is proposed as a candidate material for industrial and biomedical purposes.

Effect of tritium reduction in determining energy gain by using R-matrix method direct laser fusion in D-T reaction

The laser fusion criterion is known as the ρR-Criterion, also called high-gain condition. This parameter is temperature dependent and can be calculated by R-matrix method. This method is applied for determining improved fusion cross-section for the reactions T(d,n)4He, 3He(d,p)4He, D(d,p)T, D(d,n)3He. In this paper the time dependent reaction rate equations for fusion reaction T(d,n)4He are solved and by using the obtained results we computed the fu- sion power density, energy gain versus temperature and ρR-parameter. The obtained results show that a suitable com- bination may be a deuterium fraction fD=0.65 and fT=0.35 which would lead 30% reduction in the tritium content of the fuel mixture, and this choice would not change the energy gain value very much. Finally, the obtained energy gain for D-T reaction by using R-matrix is in good agreement with other theories.

The kinetics of Cu ion exchange on Na-montmorillonite clay mineral has been investigated at three temperatures, in three solvents: H2O, ethylene glycol and glycerol. Solvent effects on the reaction rate have been discussed. The thermodynamic activation parameters were calculated and discussed in terms of solvation effects. The determined isokinetic temperature indicates that the reaction is enthalpy controlled where the interaction between solvent and clay surface plays an important role. A reaction mechanism which describes the solvent effect on the rate of Cu ion exchange is proposed.

Using combined cooling,heat and power systems can be an appropriate substitute for preventing emissions of pollutants and excessive consumption of fossil *** renewable energy in these systems as a source of power generation can be an appropriate substitute for fossil-fuel-based ***,in this paper,cogeneration cooling,heat and power systems based on gas-fired internal combustion engines with a solar-thermal system with evacuated tube collectors have been modelled and thermo-economic analysis has been done to compare fossil-fuel-based *** required rate of heat to supply the hot water is 50 *** the studied system,the internal combustion engine produces electrical ***,the solar-thermal system with evacuated tube collectors and the gas-burning generator provide the thermal energy required by the studied building and the primary stimulus of the absorption chiller for *** this study,two different scenarios are conducted in states considering simultaneous production systems and regardless of this environmental and thermo-economic analysis *** results showed that the efficiency of the studied system was 60% in summer and 56% in winter.

Semiotic Proposition for Understanding Semantics Within Construction Documents

This research develops a methodology that helps actors in understanding information generated from multiple construction participants. It employs semiotic theory which approaches the interpreter’s understanding of the role of the representations used in construction documents to communicate meanings to other participants. This strategy is designed to aid the interpreters’ comprehension of the use of symbols. The symbols within the construction documents are forms of representations that take the form of a visual representation of a set of markers that describe a formal language, and of markers that are used to represent natural language as well as other possible representations, such as a collection of codes for indexing documents. Symbols are replaced by signs under the semiotics theory. The use of symbols as signs is this study’s recognition of the relationship between the interpreter and the material quality of symbols. The semiotic analysis is an examination of the compromise between the meanings of a representation per se and the concept associated with the understanding of such representation.

Due to the short distance between the sources of production and consumption,microgrids(mGs)have received considerable attention because these systems involve fewer losses and waste less *** another advantage of mGs is that renewable energy sources can be widely used because these resources are not fully available and can provide a part of the required *** purpose of this research is to model the mG considering the production sources of microturbines,gas turbines and internal combustion *** energies such as wind turbines(WTs)and photovoltaic(PV)cells have been used to provide part of the required power and,because of the lack of access to renewable energy sources at all times,energy reserves such as batteries and fuel cells(FCs)have been *** power of the microturbine,gas turbine,internal combustion engine,FC and battery in this system is 162,150,90,100 and 225 kW,*** modelling the studied system,optimization was done using the imperialist competitive algorithm to minimize production costs and provide maximum thermal and electrical *** maximum production power for PVs is equal to 0.6860 mWh and at this time this value for WTs is equal to 0.3812 mWh,in which case the excess electricity produced will be sold to the grid.

Spectroscopic, thermal and magnetic properties of some transition metal complexes derived from 1-Phenyl-3-Substituted-4-Nitroso-5-Pyrazolones

Complexes derived from some 1Phenyl3meth yl4nitroso5pyrazolone (L1), 1,3diphenyl4 nitroso5pyrazolone (L2) and 1phenyl3anilino 4nitroso5pyrazolone (L3) with mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ metal ions have been prepared. Structural investigation of the ligands and their complexes has been made based on elemental analysis, infrared (FTIR), ultraviolet and visible spectra (UVVis.), proton nuclear magnetic reso nance (1H NmR), magnetic susceptibility (?eff.) and thermal analysis (TG and DTG). The effect of solvents has been carried out in organic solvents of varying polarity. The observed transition energy and oscillator strengths were also calculated. The data obtained show that all of the prepared complexes contain water molecules in their coordination sphere. The investigated ligands acts as neutral bidentate ligands bonded to the metal ions through the two oxygen atoms of the carbonyl and nitroso groups. The isolated complexes behave as nonelectro lyte in DmF solution. The mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ complexes show high spin configurations as the ground state. The high spin values of ma gnetic susceptibility may be due to the ligands being weak ligands. The mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ complexes exhibit an octahedral or distorted octahedral coordination with the investigated ligands.

选取40名被试,采用2-back任务诱导认知分心,利用驾驶模拟系统构建行人-机动车、非机动车-机动车和机动车-机动车等3种应激场景,开展了不同应激场景正常驾驶及认知分心驾驶2种工况驾驶人的应激反应实验研究;根据采集的被试的眼动、脑电和驾驶行为等数据,分析了认知分心驾驶工况驾驶人的应激反应行为特性;对实验结果进行集对分析(SPA),完成了不同应激场景下驾驶人应激反应行为的安全性评估。结果表明:驾驶人应激反应行为的安全性因受认知分心的影响而降低,其中在行人应激场景下的影响最为显著。

本研究的主要目标是研究含有微小颗粒的非牛顿Sutterby流体的流动性,以及微生物回旋运动引起感应磁场的影响。流动设置在一对圆盘之间,圆盘间充满了含有微小颗粒和趋旋微生物的Sutterby流体。在流动控制中考虑了Arrhenius动力学和热辐射的影响。利用相关的相似变换将所建立的数学模型修改为非线性常微分方程。为了计算非线性常微分方程的数值解,使用微分变换程序(DTm)。对于非线性问题,积分变换技术执行难度大。因此,使用基于Taylor展开的微分变换方法以获得多项式解作为解析解。为了提高公式化数学建模的收敛性,将Padé近似与微分变换方法相结合。讨论了不同无量纲因子对速度、温度场、浓度分布和运动回旋微生物剖面的影响,用表格形式对两块板上的扭矩进行计算和显示。
