electrical Relaxation in Mixed Alkali Bi_2O_3-K_2O-Li_2O-fe_2O_3 Glasses

A new glass system （Bi2O3）50（fe2O3）10（Li2O）x（K2O）40-x, where x changes in steps of 5 mole fraction between 0 and 40, was selected to study the electrical relaxation and the mixed alkali effect （MAE） phenomena. Measurements of ac conductivity σac, dielectric permittivity ε′ and loss factor tanδ in the frequency range of 0.12～10^2 kHz and in the temperature range of 300～650 K were carried out. The temperature dependence of the ac conductivity shows a slow increasing rate at low temperature and high frequency and a rapid increase at high temperature and low frequency. At constant temperature, the ac conductivity is found to be proportional to ω^8, where s is the frequency exponent, which is less than 1. Analysis of the conductivity data and the frequency exponent shows that the overlapping large polaron tunnelling （OLPT） model of ions is the most favorable mechanism for the ac conduction in the present glass system. The ac response, the dc conductivity and dielectric relaxation have the same activation energy and they originate from the same basic transport mechanism. The results of the dielectric permittivity show no maximum peak in the temperature and frequency range studied. This absence of maximum peak is an indication of non-ferroelectric behavior of all the studied samples. The MAE has been detected in the ac conductivity, which is the same as the classical MAE in the dc conductivity. The electrical parameters such as dielectric permittivity ε′ and real dielectric modulus M′ show a typical minimum deviation from linearity by about two orders of magnitude. The loss factor tanδ and the imaginary dielectric modulus M″ are insignificantly dependent on composition even at the same transition temperature Tg.

Due to the numerous variables to take into account as well as the inherent ambiguity and uncertainty,evaluating educational institutions can be *** concept of a possibility Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft set(pPyfHSS)is more flexible in this regard than other theoretical fuzzy set-like models,even though some attempts have been made in the literature to address such *** study investigates the elementary notions of pPyfHSS including its set-theoretic operations union,intersection,complement,OR-and *** results related to these operations are also modified for ***,the similarity measures between pPyfHSSs are formulated with the assistance of numerical examples and ***,an intelligent decision-assisted mechanism is developed with the proposal of a robust algorithm based on similarity measures for solving multi-attribute decision-making(MADM)problems.A case study that helps the decision-makers assess the best educational institution is discussed to validate the suggested *** algorithmic results are compared with the most pertinent model to evaluate the adaptability of pPyfHSS,as it generalizes the classical possibility fuzzy set-like theoretical ***,while considering significant evaluating factors,the flexibility of pPyfHSS is observed through structural comparison.

Spinal cord injury remains a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

The dramatic rise in the number of people living in cities has made many environmental and social problems *** search for a productive method for disposing of solid waste is the most notable of these *** scholars have referred to it as a fuzzy multi-attribute or multi-criteria decision-making problem using various fuzzy set-like approaches because of the inclusion of criteria and anticipated *** goal of the current study is to use an innovative methodology to address the expected uncertainties in the problem of solid waste site *** characteristics(or sub-attributes)that decision-makers select and the degree of approximation they accept for various options can both be indicators of these *** tackle these problems,a novel mathematical structure known as the fuzzy parameterized possibility single valued neutrosophic hypersoft expert set(ρˆ-set),which is initially described,is integrated with a modified version of Sanchez’s *** this,an intelligent algorithm is *** steps of the suggested algorithm are explained with an example that explains *** compatibility of solid waste management sites and systems is discussed,and rankings are established along with detailed justifications for their *** study’s strengths lie in its application of fuzzy parameterization and possibility grading to effectively handle the uncertainties embodied in the parameters’nature and alternative approximations,*** uses specific mathematical formulations to compute the fuzzy parameterized degrees and possibility grades that are missing from the prior *** is simpler for the decisionmakers to look at each option separately because the decision is *** the computed results,it is discovered that they are consistent and dependable because of their preferred properties.

Cytoprotective Effect of Silymarin against Diabetes-Induced Cardiomyocyte Apoptosis in Diabetic Rats

Objective The beneficial effects of silymarin have been extensively studied in the context of inflammation and cancer treatment, yet much less is known about its therapeutic effect on diabetes. The present study was aimed to investigate the cytoprotective activity of silymarin against diabetes-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis. Methods Rats were randomly divided into： control group, untreated diabetes group and diabetes group treated with silymarin （120 mg/ks·d） for 10 d. Rats were sacrificed, and the cardiac muscle specimens and blood samples were collected. The immunoreactivity of caspase-3 and Bcl-2 in the cardiomyocytes was measured. Total proteins, glucose, insulin, creatinine, AST, ALT, cholesterol, and triglycerides levels were estimated. Results Unlike the treated diabetes group, cardiomyocyte apoptosis increased in the untreated rats, as evidenced by enhanced caspase-3 and declined Bcl-2 activities. The levels of glucose, creatinine, AST, ALT, cholesterol, and triglycerides declined in the treated rats. The declined levels of insulin were enhanced again after treatment of diabetic rats with silymarin, reflecting a restoration of the pancreatic β-cells activity. Conclusion The findings of this study are of great importance, which confirmed for the first time that treatment of diabetic subjects with silymarin may protect cardiomyocytes against apoptosis and promote survival-restoration of the pancreatic β-cells.

Lanthanide amino acid Schiff base complexes:synthesis,spectroscopic characterization,physical properties and in vitro antimicrobial studies

Complexes of La （III）, Nd（III）, Gd（III）, Sm（III）, and Ce（IV） were synthesized with Schiff base [（3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hy- droxybenzyl） amino] acetic acid （H3L）. The ligand and its complexes were synthesized and characterized based on the following analysis： elemental analyses, fAB-mass, molar conductance measurements, magnetic measurement, UV-visible, IR, and NMR spectral studies. The spectral data revealed that the ligand acted as a neutral tridentate coordinating to metal ion through ONO donor sequence. Thermal degradation studies of the ligand and its complexes showed that the previous lanthanide complexes were more thermally stable than the ligand itself. The Schiff base and its complexes were screened for their antibacterial （Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus） and antifungal （Aspergillus flavus and Candida Albicans）.

Sorption of certain lanthanides by kieselguhr loaded with Cyanex 572 from sulfate medium

Kieselguhr for chromatography was loaded with Cyanex 572 extractant and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRf),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),fourier transform infra-red(fT-IR),and thermal *** of some heavy lanthanides together with yttrium by the prepared kieselguhr/Cy-572 sorbent was investigated by batch experiment in terms of initial metal ions concentrations,volume to solid mass ratio(V/m),sulfuric acid concentration as well as *** sorption equilibrium of Cy-572 loaded kieselguhr was satisfactorily explained by the pseudo second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm ***,the values of thermodynamic parameters △G°,△H°,and △S°at25℃of the studied metal ions show that the process is spontaneous and endothermic in nature.2.0 mol/L HNO3 is promising to desorb these metal ions.

Comparative studies on Y(Ⅲ)and Dy(Ⅲ)extraction from hydrochloric and nitric acids by Cyanex 572 as a novel extractant

Extraction of Y(III) and Dy(III) from hydrochloric and nitric acids by Cy-572 in kerosene was studied. The factors affecting the extraction were separately investigated. The stoichiometry of the extracted species was deduced on the basis of slope analysis method. Evaluation of extraction equilibrium and stripping investigation was studied as well as saponification effect of Cy-572. The composition of the extracted metal species in the organic phase was found to be [MA·(HA)] for Y(III) or Dy(III) in both media.1.0 mol/L HCI is the best stripping agent for each metal ion from the studied acidic media in one *** Cy-572 does not exhibit any selectivity towards the extraction of Y(III) or Dy(III) from both HCI and HNOsolutions. Based on the obtained results, the data were compared and the separation feasibility between lanthanides and Y(III) in the two media was discussed.

The optimum conditions for methanol conversion to dimethyl ether over modified sulfated zirconia catalysts prepared by different methods

Sulfated zirconia(SZ)and two promoted 1% Mn/SZ catalysts which have been prepared via sol gel(Mn/SZ-S)and impregnation(Mn/SZ-I)methods were *** morphology of the catalysts was characterized by XRD,BET,NH3-TPD,ICP,SEM and fT-IR *** conversion of methanol to dimethyl ether and hydrocarbons was carried out in the temperature range of 120−300℃.The Mn/SZ-S showed the highest activity due to the high surface area with suitable *** optimum condition of Mn/SZ-S catalyst was investigated at 200℃ and LHSV of 0.02 h^−1 in a time range from 30 to 210 *** was found that the total conversion decreased from 80.18% to 53.26% at 210 *** reusability of this catalyst was studied at the optimum condition up till four cycles for 1 *** characterization of the reused catalyst showed a significant change in the structure and surface acidity due to the blockage of the surface acid sited by carbonaceous materials.
