Dear Editor, The current standard 12-core systematic transrectal ultrasound （TRUS）-guided biopsy in prostate cancer diagnosis has the disadvantages of overdetecting indolent tumors, while failing to identify clinically significant cancers in up to 35%.1 Advances in imaging techniques, notably the multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging （mpMRI）, allow clinically significant prostate cancers to be detected with more precise localization） Fusion of MRI and real-time TRUS enables targeted biopsy of suspicious lesions, overcoming human error, and inability of biopsy site tracking in cognitive fusion？ Multiple Western series have suggested a higher detection rate, higher specificity, and better risk stratification with fusion biopsy.

Experimental results on solubility of the styrene, phenol, methylphenylcarbinol, acetophenone, ethyl benzene, propylene glycol and molybdenum as a complex with Trilon B in supercritical CO2 obtained using a dynamic (flow) method are presented. The obtained data are described in the framework of Peng-Robinson equation. The results of the experients on the extraction of organic components from waste formed in the olefin epoxidation process at Nizhnekam-skneftekhim Inc., on the analysis of extract composition, and on the testing of the extract as an epoxidation catalyst are presented. The supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) process of epoxidation process waste was conducted in periodical and continuous mode. The analysis results of reaction product are given. Pilot experiments on dry sediment formation were conducted using Radio Frequency (RF) Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) of low pressure.

A novel composite membrane of poly(vinyl alcohol) and regenerated silk fibroin was employed to immobilize horseradish.peroxidase (HRP) and IR was used to give a useful insight into the structure of the composite membrane before and after ethanol treatment. A methylene green-mediated sensor sensitive to hydrogen peroxide was fabricated, based on the composite membrane as immobilization matrix for HRP. Cyclic voltammetry and amperometric measurement were for the first time utilized to demonstrate the suitability of methylene green as an electron transfer mediator between immobilized HRP and a glassy carbon electrode in bioelectrocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide. Performance and characteristics of the sensor were evaluated in respect to response time, detection limit, applied potential and concentration of the mediator. The sensor possesses a variety of characteristics including good sensitivity, rapid response time and low detection of limit of 0.1 mu mol/L.

BACKGROUND： T4 hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） with invasion to adjacent structure（s） may require resection of not only the tumor but also the invaded structure（s）. This study aims to assess whether such combined resection for T4 HCC is justifiable. METHODS： Adult patients with T4 HCC were divided into three groups. Group 1： tumors and invaded adjacent structures were resected together if histopathologically confirmed tumor invasion; group 2： same as group 1 but histopathologically confirmed tumor adhesion; group 3： tumor resection only. Group comparisons were made. RESULTS： Totally 144 patients were included in the study. There were 71, 14 and 59 patients in groups 1, 2 and 3, respec- tively. The groups were comparable in demographics, compli- cation and survival. Ten hospital deaths occurred （5, 0 and 5 in groups 1, 2 and 3, respectively; P=0.533）. The 5-year overall survival （hospital mortality excluded） was 17.8% in group 1, 14.3% in group 2, and 28.9% in group 3 （P=0.191）. The 5-year disease-free survival was 10.4% in group 1 and 14.5% in group 3 （no data for group 2 yet）（P=0.565）. On multivariate analysis, macrovascular invasion and poor differentiation were risk factors for survival whereas combined resection did not impact patients＇ survival. CONCLUSIONS： Combined resection achieved survival outcomes similar to tumor resection only. Patients with tumor invasion and those with tumor adhesion had comparable survival after combined resection. At centers with the required expertise, combined resection sh.uld be attempted to treat T4 HCCs with clinically suspected invasion of adjacent structures.

Objectives: Testing a hypothesis, that platelet cytochrome c-oxidase (COX) activities in patients with paranoid schizophrenia, acute episode, may be linked to dynamics of their clinical patterns and quality of cognitive functioning under antipsychotic treatment. Methods: Psychopatho-logical (PANSS, NSA-16) and cognitive assess-ments;platelet COX enzymatic activity determination, post-hoc nonparametric statistical analysis. Results: Psychopathological and cognitive assessments were done and blood was sampled in patients before (at baseline) and after treatment with risperidone. Following regu- larities were found after the treatment of patients: Significant elevation of COX, wherein the higher was COX at baseline, the more prominent was decrease in PANSSneg and NSA rates;significant negative correlation between COX and executive time in cognitive tests. When the patient group was divided by median of COX at baseline into two subgroups (greater or equal median, and 20% was assigned to the first subgroup;significantly larger amount of patients with PANSSneg by <20% was assigned to the second group. Conclusions: Therapy with risperidone seems to be more effective for patients with higher COX activity at baseline, but this fact requires further study.

The kinetics of Cu ion exchange on Na-montmorillonite clay mineral has been investigated at three temperatures, in three solvents: H2O, ethylene glycol and glycerol. Solvent effects on the reaction rate have been discussed. The thermodynamic activation parameters were calculated and discussed in terms of solvation effects. The determined isokinetic temperature indicates that the reaction is enthalpy controlled where the interaction between solvent and clay surface plays an important role. A reaction mechanism which describes the solvent effect on the rate of Cu ion exchange is proposed.

Effect of Zinc Methionine Supplementation on Productive Performance of Lactating Friesian Cows

Twelve lactating Friesian Cows with body weight of 450 to 550 kg and in the second to fifth lactating season were used after 8 weeks of cal- ving in a complete switch-back design. The cows were fed a basal ration of 35% concentrate feed mix-ture with 40% berseem and 25% rice straw （ on a dry matter （DM） basis） without supplementation （ G1 ） or supplemented with 5 and 10 g zinc methionine per head per day （G2 and G3, respectively）. Nutrient digestibility coefficients and nutritive values were significantly increased （P 〈0.05） by zinc methionine supplementation. Cows in G2 had the highest feed intake of total digestible nutrients （TDN） and digestible crude protein （DCP）, followed by Ga and G1, respectively （ P 〈 0.05 ）. The ruminal total volatile fatty acid concentration increased and ammonia nitrogen decreased significantly （ P 〈 0.05 ） by zinc methio-nine supplementation. Cows in G3 sh.wed the highest plasma total protein, albumin, and globulin concen- trations （ P 〈 0.05 ）. Zinc methionine supplementa- tion led to significant decreases （ P 〈 0.05 ） in the activities of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase. A significant increase （ P 〈 0.05 ） was observed in the milk yield for G2 （2.54 kg/d or 18. 1% ） and G3 （ 1.95 kg/d or 14.2% ） compared with the control group. The corresponding increase in 4% fat-corrected milk （FCM） was 2.85 and 2.03 kg/d （21.63% and 15.74% ） for G2 and G3, respectively. Cows in G2 had the highest fat, total protein, and total solids contents, and the yield of all milk constitu- ents and animals in G3 sh.wed the highest lactose, solids-not-fat, and ash.contents. Zinc methionine sup- plementation improved feed conversion, reducing the quantities of DM, TDN, and DCP required to pro- duce 1 kg of 4% FCM （P〈0.05）. The average dai- ly feed cost per kilogram of 4% FCM decreased and the average income from milk production increased with zinc methionine supplementation （ P 〈 0.05 ）. Two-pore domain potassium (K2P) channels gate primarily within the selectivity filter, termed ‘C-type’ gating. Due to the lack of structural insights into the nonconductive (closed) state, ‘C-type’ gating mechanisms remain elusive. Here, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations on TREK-1, a K2P channel, revealed that M4 helix movements induce filter closing in a novel ‘deeper-down’ structure that represents a ‘C-type’ closed state. The ‘down’ structure does not represent the closed state as previously proposed and instead acts as an intermediate state in gating. The study identified the allosteric ‘seesaw’ mechanism of M4 helix movements in modulating filter closing. Finally, guided by this recognition of K2P gating mechanisms, MD simulations revealed that gain-of-function mutations and small-molecule activators activate TREK-1 by perturbing state transitions from open to closed states. Together, we reveal a ‘C-type’ closed state and provide mechanical insights into gating procedures and allosteric regulations for K2P channels.

Objective:To determine the sensitivity of Blattela germanica L(*** L) to differenct doses of ***:*** were reared in laboratory conditions at(25±2) ℃ and(50±5)%relative humidity(RH),and exposure period of 12:12 L/*** concentrations,viz.5,10,15,20 and 25 μ of insulin N,R,(N+R) were prepared and injected to 10 treated cockroaches with another 10 cockroaches which were injected with normal saline as control ***:Insulin N with a dose of 20 μ caused more than 70%mortality of *** in this *** was a significant difference between 20 μ of insulin N with other doses of 5,10,15 and 25 μ,and its comparison with other forms of medication also sh.wed obvious difference(P<0.05).Conclusions:It can be concluded that effective drug doses of insulin which can be used as posion bait or gel against German cockroaches could be utilized in the control of *** in the future field studies.

Using combined cooling,heat and power systems can be an appropriate substitute for preventing emissions of pollutants and excessive consumption of fossil *** renewable energy in these systems as a source of power generation can be an appropriate substitute for fossil-fuel-based ***,in this paper,cogeneration cooling,heat and power systems based on gas-fired internal combustion engines with a solar-thermal system with evacuated tube collectors have been modelled and thermo-economic analysis has been done to compare fossil-fuel-based *** required rate of heat to supply the hot water is 50 *** the studied system,the internal combustion engine produces electrical ***,the solar-thermal system with evacuated tube collectors and the gas-burning generator provide the thermal energy required by the studied building and the primary stimulus of the absorption chiller for *** this study,two different scenarios are conducted in states considering simultaneous production systems and regardless of this environmental and thermo-economic analysis *** results sh.wed that the efficiency of the studied system was 60% in summer and 56% in winter.
