The effect of platinum （a rare metal）–aluminide coating parameters on the tensile properties of nickel-based superalloy Rene?80 was evaluated at 871。*** this purpose,initial layers of platinum with different thicknesses （2,4,6 and 8μm） were coated on tensile samples Then,low-temperature high-activity （LTHA） and hightemperature low-activity （HTLA） processes were used for *** of microstructural evaluations using scanning electron microscope （SEm） and phase analysis by X-ray diffraction （XRD） showed a three-layer structure coating for different platinum layer thicknesses and both aluminizing *** the thickness of the platinum layer from 2 to 8μm led to the improvement in the final coating thickness from 91.6 to 102.1μm in *** increase was from 128.1 to 148.6 μm in *** results of hot tensile tests at 871℃ showed a decrease in strength properties of the coated samples compared to the uncoated ***,HTLA and high thicknesses of the initial platinum layer showed an intense *** results of fractographic evaluations abou uncoated samples showed a ductile *** the other hand,coated samples showed a simultaneous ductile and brittle fracture failure *** the main fracture morphology was brittle cleavage fracture which was for the HTLA.

Immersion of scaffolds in Simulated Body Fluid(10SBF)is a standardized method for evaluating their bioactivity,simulating in vivo conditions where apatite deposits can be formed on the surface of scaffold,facilitating bone integration and ensuring their suitability for bone implant purposes,ultimately contributing to long-term implant *** effect of apatite deposition on bioactivity and cell behavior of TiO_(2)scaffolds was *** were soaked in 10SBF for different durations to form HAP layer on their *** results proved the development of a hydroxyapatite film resembling the mineral composition of bone Extracellular matrix(ECm)on the TiO_(2)*** XRD test findings showed the presence of hydroxyapatite layer similar to bone at the depth of 10 nm.A decrease in the specific surface area(18.913 m^(2)g^(−1)),the total pore volume(0.045172 cm^(3)g^(−1)(at p/p0=0.990)),and the mean pore diameter(9.5537 nm),were observed by BET analysis which confirmed the formation of the apatite *** was found that titania scaffolds with HAP coating promoted human osteosarcoma bone cell(mG63)cell attachment and *** seems that immersing the scaffolds in 10SBF to form HAP coating before utilizing them for bone tissue engineering applications might be a good strategy to promote bioactivity,cell attachment,and implant fixation.

The research focuses on evaluating how well new solvents attract light hydrocarbons,such as propane,methane,and ethane,in natural gas sweetening *** is important to accurately determine the solubility of hydrocarbons in these solvents to effectively manage the sweetening *** address this challenge,the study proposes using advanced empirical models based on artificial intelligence techniques like multi-Layer Artificial Neural Network(mL-ANN),Support Vector machines(SVm),and Least Square Support Vector machine(LSSVm).The parameters for the SVm and LSSVm models are estimated using optimization methods like Genetic Algorithm(GA),Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),and Shuffled Complex Evolution(SCE).Data on the solubility of propane,methane,and ethane in various ionic liquids are collected from reliable literature sources to create a comprehensive *** proposed artificial intelligence models show great accuracy in predicting hydrocarbon solubility in ionic *** these,the hybrid SVm models perform exceptionally well,with the PSO-SVm hybrid model being particularly efficient *** ensure a comprehensive analysis,different examples of hydrocarbons and their order are ***,a comparative analysis is conducted to compare the AI models with the thermodynamic COSmO-RS model for solubility *** results demonstrate the superiority of the AI models,as they outperform traditional thermodynamic models across a wide range of *** conclusion,this study introduces advanced artificial intelligence algorithms such as mL-ANN,SVm,and LSSVm in accurately estimating the solubility of hydrocarbons in ionic *** incorporation of optimization techniques and variations in hydrocarbon examples improves the accuracy,precision,and reliability of these intelligent *** findings highlight the significant potential of AI-based approaches in solubility analysis and emphasize their superiority over traditional thermodynami

研究由开孔聚合物和金属/聚合物泡沫芯制成的轻质夹层板的力学性能和能量吸收性能。通过结合聚合物树脂的增材制造和三层金属(Ni/Ni-Cu/Ni)的电沉积制备多层夹层板,每英寸孔数(PPI)为4、5和6。测试样品在单轴压缩变形过程中的屈服强度,计算其能量吸收密度、互补能和比吸收能(SEA)。结果表明,与相同厚度的纯Ni和Cu夹层板相比,复合夹层板的性能有明显改善。增加PPI和金属层可提高力学性能和能量吸收性能,当PPI为6时,屈服强度(能量吸收密度)由聚合物夹层板的0.12 mPa(0.12mJ/m^(3))提高到三层金属夹层板的1.83mPa(0.67 mJ/m^(3))。对夹层板结构归一化能量的研究表明,夹层板具有可预测的塑性变形行为,多金属层改善了新型夹层板的力学性能。其能量吸收性能的显著增强可保证材料在不同行业的独特应用。

The development,production and utilization of renewable energy,energy storage and green hydrogen and the associated technologies in Sri Lanka have great potential to contribute to the United Nations’Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).The island aims to achieve 70%electricity generation from renewable energy sources by 2030(within the target of 40%utilization of renewable energy sources for the entire energy generation of the country by 2030).The power sector has to invest US$11 billion from 2023 to 2030 to contribute to reaching this *** commentary aims to provide a critical perspective on the recommendations of the report from the National Science and Technology Commission’s 9th biennial conference in 2023 on science and technology,the sub-thematic technical report on clean energy,energy storage and green hydrogen in line with the SDGs in the Sri Lankan *** technical report provides insightful recommendations for Sri Lanka’s energy sector under three main sections:renewable energy,energy storage and green ***,it explores the potential of various renewable energy sources,energy storage systems and green hydrogen as sustainable solutions to address the country’s energy challenges while emphasizing the spillover effects of them,which could contribute to the enterprise’s job creation and uplift the economy.

Progressive failure analysis of notched composite plate by utilizing macro mechanics approach

In this study,gradual and sudden reduction methods were combined to simulate a progressive failure in notched composite plates using a macro mechanics *** the presented method,a progressive failure is simulated based on a linear softening law prior to a catastrophic failure,and thereafter,sudden reduction methods are employed for modeling a progressive *** combination method significantly reduces the computational cost and is also capable of simultaneously predicting the first and last ply failures(LPFs)in composite *** proposed method is intended to predict the first ply failure(FPF),LPF,and dominant failure modes of carbon/epoxy and glass/epoxy notched composite *** addition,the effects of mechanical properties and different stacking sequences on the propagation of damage in notched composite plates were *** results of the presented method were compared with experimental data previously reported in the *** comparing the numerical and experimental data,it is revealed that the proposed method can accurately simulate the failure propagation in notched composite plates at a low computational cost.

Permanent displacement of a bridge column can be directly measured during the inspection after near-fault ***,the engineer needs to estimate the expected residual drift at the design stage to determine if the bridge seismic performance is *** most direct method to estimate the residual displacement is nonlinear response history analysis,which is time consuming and ***,an attractive but indirect method is generating estimated residual displacement spectra that depend on displacement ductility demand,column period,site conditions,and earthquake *** the period and the expected displacement ductility demand for the column,the residual drift response spectra curves can be utilized to estimate the residual drift *** drift spectra that are applicable to RC bridge columns in different parts of the United States were developed based on nonlinear response history analyses using a comprehensive collection of recorded and synthetic near-fault ground motions and were linked to one-second spectral acceleration(S1)of the AASHTO *** was also found that the residual drift ratio is below one percent when S1 is less than 0.6 g.

Vanadium oxide （VOx） nanostructures, synthesized by hydrothermal treatment using dodecylamine as template, were evaluated for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia （NH3-SCR）, The effect of solvent type in the reaction mixture （EtOH/（EtOH ＋ H20）） and time of hydrolysis was studied. The obtained materials were characterized by XRD, SEm, TEm and BET, The VOx nanorods （80-120 nm diameter and 1-4 μm length） were synthesized in 25 vol% EtOH/（EtOH ＋ H20） and the open-ended multiwalled VOx nanotube （50-100 nm inner diameter, 110-180 nm outer diameter and 0,5-2 pm length） synthesized in 50 vol% EtOH/（EtOH ＋ H20）. VOx nanotuhes performed the superior NH3-SCR activity under a gas hourly space velocity of 12,000 h-1 at low temperature of 250 ~C （NOx conversion of 893g ＆ N2 selectivity of 100%）, while most of the developed Vanadia base catalysts are active at high temperature （〉350 ℃）. The superior NH3-SCR activity ofVOx nanotubes at low tem- perature is related to nanocrystalline structure, special nanotube morphology as well as high specific surface area.

This study statistically evaluated the characteristics of induced earthquakes by geothermal power plants(GPPs)and generated a probabilistic model for simulating stochastic seismic *** well-known power plant zones were selected worldwide from the United States,Germany,France,and New *** operational condition information,as well as the corresponding earthquake catalogs recorded in the vicinity of GPPs,were gathered from their commencement *** statistical properties of events were studied *** using this proposed database,a probabilistic model was developed capable of generating the number of induced seismic events per month,their magnitude,focal depth,and distance from the epicenter to the power plant,*** of these parameters are simulated as a function of power plant injection *** speaking,the model,introduced in this study,is a tool for engineers and scientists interested in the seismic risk assessment of built environments prone to induced seismicity produced by GPPs operation.
