Comprehensive power swing detection by current signal modeling and prediction using the GMDH method

Power swing is an undesirable variation in power flow. This can be caused by large disturbances in demand load, switching, disconnection or reclosing lines. This phenomenon may enter the zones of distance relays and cause relay malfunction leading to the disconnection of healthy lines and undermining network reliability. Accordingly, this paper presents a new power swing detection method based on the prediction of current signal with a GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) artificial neural network. The main advantage of the proposed method over its counterparts is the immunity to noise effect in signals. In addition, the proposed method can detect stable, unstable, and multi-mode power swings and is capable of distinguishing them from the variety of permanent faults occurring simultaneously. The method is tested for different types of power swings and simultaneous faults using DIgSILENT and MATLAB, and compared with some latest power swing detection methods. The results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method in terms of response time, the ability to detect power swings of different varieties, and the ability to detect different faults that may occur simultaneously with power swings.

Coupling system application in photocatalytic degradation of methylorange by TiO_2, TiO_2/SiO_2 and TiO_2/SiO_2/Ag

Three different photocatalysts including TiO2, TiO2/SiO2 and TiO2/SiO2/Ag were synthesized via sol–gel growth method, in which colloidal silica was used as Si source, titanium tetra iso-propoxide (TTiP) as titanium source, Ag+ as dopant ion and hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) as dispersant. The purpose was to study the enhancement of photocatalytic activity of TiO2 by deposition on SiO2 colloids and also doping with Ag ion. The catalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) methods. It is confirmed that the major phase in all catalysts is anatase. Photocatalytic activity was studied in various conditions for degradation of methylorange (as a model pollutant) to evaluate the effect of some parameters on degradation efficiency. Studying the degradation process in various pH values reveals that the degradation is more efficient in acidic solution than alkaline condition. Coupling the photocatalytic process with some fields called electro-photochemical (EP), magnetic-photochemical (MP) and ultrasonic-photochemical (UP) was studied at two pH values which were compared with photochemical (P) alone. It is concluded that in most cases, the EP is the best coupled system and has the maximum efficiency. Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) analysis was used to check the complete decomposition of methylorange at the end of process.

An integrated geological-petrophysical analysis of the rudist-bearing sequence of the Cretaceous Sarvak Formation is given one giant oilfield,and provides an improved understanding of this main reservoir in the Abadan Plain,in the Zagros Basin,SW *** main objective of this study is to evaluate reservoir potential of the Sarvak Formation,and then to utilize the calibrated well log signature to correlate reservoir potential in un-cored *** main facies are recognized and categorized in five facies groups:lagoon,shoal,rudist-biostrome,slope,and shallow open marine,deposited on a shelf carbonate *** the distribution of diagenetic products and their effects on pore systems,three diagenetic facies namely,(DF-1)low dissolution and cementation;(DF-2);high dissolution;and(DF-3)high cementation are *** initial sedimentary characteristics in combination with distribution of diagenetic products play an important role in reservoir quality *** effect of diagenetic processes related to disconformities mainly depends on the facies nature below these ***-dominated facies of shoal and rudist debris,observed below the Cenomanian–Turonian disconformity,are mostly characterized by high dissolution and interconnected pore ***,depositional and diagenetic facies in the studied wells are correlated by petrophysical well log data,leading to distribution of the reservoir *** obtained can be utilized for efficient reservoir characterization of the Sarvak Formation and its equivalent units in the Arabian Plate.

Carbon Isotope Stratigraphy of the Uppermost Aptian-Lower Cenomanian Strata from the Lut Block,East Iran

The Mid-Cretaceous interval has been recognized as a crucial period in Earth’s history,and a number of studies on Neo-Tethyan successions illustrate intense evolutions in the nature of Mid-Cretaceous ocean chemistry,sea level,and marine faunal ***,much less investigations have been conducted in the Sistan Ocean,in the eastern ***,the Nimbolook Section(Lut Block,central Iran)has provided an opportunity to address these shortcomings and provide a better understanding of the paleoenvironmental changes in this *** biostratigraphic analysis and age interpretation of the Nimbolook Section have been performed in earlier investigations by means of planktonic foraminifera,ammonites and calcareous *** provides a reliable age framework for the chemostratigraphic *** the Nimbolook Section,the δ^(13)C stratigraphy was carried out on a total of 41 samples,which ranged between -3.26‰and 2.86‰ with an average of 1.09‰(standard deviation=1.15‰),and expanded within the upper Aptian to lower Cenomanian ***,there is a prominent negative shift at the base of the section,accompanied by episodes of sea-level ***,according to the age-diagnostic calcareous nannofossils records,this carbon isotope negative shift(0.88‰ to -3.26‰)straddle between late Aptian and early Albian ***,these new chemostratigraphic observations could be interpreted as being the coeval data from the reference well-studied successions in the other parts of the world,tentatively reflecting the oceanic anoxic event(OAE)1b.

Characterization and corrosion behavior of Al-Co-rare earth(Ce-La)amorphous alloy

A new Al-based amorphous alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and high thermal stability was produced in the Al-Co-RE(Ce-La)*** this regard,two different amorphous-nanocrystalline ribbons:Al_(87.6)-Co_(6.4)-Ce_(3.8-)La_(2.2)(M_(1))and Al_(82.3)-Co_(10.1)-Ce_(4.8)-La_(2.8)(M_(2))were prepared using melt *** results reveal the supercooled liquid region(ATx)of 218℃which shows that the M2alloy has higher thermal stability in comparison to the *** M2ribbons present the superior corrosion resistance because of the formation of amorphous *** icorr,Ecorr,Epit,and Epit-Ecorrvalues of fully amorphous Al-Co-Ce-La metallic ribbons have a better trend of anti-corrosion performance compared to other crystalline and amorphous aluminum alloys.

Determination of Salinity in Fluid Inclusions with Laser Raman Spectroscopy Technique

A preliminary study was conducted to outline the laser Raman spectroscopy technique for determination of salinity in the aqueous phase in fluid inclusions. The skewing parameters of the Raman profiles of the calibration solutions determined were used to derive a calibration curve for the estimation of the equivalent mass fraction NaCl in aqueous solutions. This technique was also verified in the analysis of the natural fluid inclusions from Tongshankou porphyry Cu (Mo) deposit, Hubei Province, China. Although the analyses on the natural fluid inclusions are limited, an acceptable agreement has been reached on the salinities, for most fluid inclusions, determined by the Raman spectroscopy and microthermometry techniques, indicating the reliability of the Raman technique for determination of salinity in fluid inclusion studies.

Excess mortality in Northeast Iran caused by COVID-19:Neglect of offset community transformations of health

Objective:To make evidence-based decisions based on broad mortality trends for razavi Khorasan province,***:In order to determine the baseline number of deaths,we used univariate time series analyses for monthly data from the monthly vital statistics reports(From April 2015 to March 2022).For excess mortalities,these baselines were subtracted from reported deaths with a 95%prediction *** compare time and causes,a P-score was ***:From March 2020 to March 2022,there were 61949 registered deaths,and the estimated deaths with a 95%confidence interval(CI)were 43246.16(35718.28,50774.05).So,in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022,the death counts were 35.15%and 51.33%higher than projected.A total of 18666 cardiovascular diseases were reported and a total of 15704.46(12006.95,19401.96)was *** P-score for this duration was 14.49%and 23.23%higher than *** and parasitic diseases plus COVID-19 were 16633 and estimated to be 1044.87(456.77,1632.96).A total of 4420 diseases of the respiratory system were reported,and 4564.94 deaths were predicted(2277.43,6852.43).In the first year of the pandemic,the P-score dropped to-35.28%and in the second year,it jumped sharply to 22.38%.Conclusions:Excess mortality,along with cause-specific mortality,can be helpful for monitoring trends and developing public health policies at the local,national,and international levels.
