Al composites are of interest due to their appropriate ratio of strength to *** our research,an Al/Co3O4 nanocomposite was generated using a sintering *** powders of Al with various Co3O4 nanoparticle contents(0 wt%,0.5 wt%,1.0 wt%,1.5 wt%,2.0 wt%,and2.5 wt%)were first blended using planetary milling for 30 min,and compressed in a cylindrical steel mold with a diameter of 1 cm and a height of5 cm at a pressure of 80 *** samples were evaluated with X-ray diffractometry(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Vickers hardness,and a vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM).Although the crystallite size of the Al particles remained constant at 7–10 nm,the accumulation of nanoparticles in the Al particle interspace increased the structural tensile strain from 0.0045 to 0.0063,the hardness from HV 28 to HV 52 and the magnetic saturation from 0.044 to 0.404 emu/g with an increase in Co3O4 nanoparticle content from 0 wt%to 2.5 wt%.

Stellite-21/WC nanopowders were deposited on inconel through vibration-assisted laser cladding with different laser *** and scanning electron microscopy,hardness measurements,and wear characterizations were employed to understand the microstructural and mechanical behaviors of the *** showed that varying the cooling rate exerted remarkable effects on the microstructure of the as-cladded ***,increasing the laser power from 150 W to 250 W increased the heat input and the *** was affected by the scanning rate and powder feeding rate at a high laser power of 250 *** WC nanoparticles were added as reinforcement,the dilution magnitude intensified while the hardness value increased from HV 350 to HV *** wear characterizations indicated that the composites containing 3 wt%WC nanoparticles possessed the highest wear resistance.

Thorium as a suitable fertile with higher natural resources in comparison with uranium resources has been remarkably considered by different nuclear energy user countries in the last decades. its prominent features such as suitable possibility for power flattening of a nuclear reactor, applicable breeder blanket to produce^(233)U fissile as well as neutron leakage prevention from a nuclear core has caused its application as power flatter, breeder material or other aimed utilizations be evaluated by the researches. in the present study, neutronics of a modeled CANDU 6loaded with Th O_2 and UO_2fuel rods have been computationally studied. The study aimed at reprocessing of burned Th O_2 seeds at CANDU 6 reactor to recover the total produced uranium, which is to be going under another compound fuel cycle. The obtained results showed all the core reactivity coefficients are sufficiently negative. The modeled core 949 GWd burn-up concluding in 99.99 %depletion of^(235)U initial loads. 18.38 kg of^(233) U was produced in the burnt Th O_2 fuel after 1-year burn-up time. in addition, 31.84 kg of^(239) Pu was produced in the UO_2 spent fuel rods after the burn-up time. After a proposed cooling time, about 50.01 kg of^(233)U will be available in the spent Th O_2 fuel.

Design feasibility of gamma camera without collimator based on specific arrangement of the detectors

in gamma camera and single-photon emission computerized tomography, the collimator removes most photons. Here, a gamma camera without collimator utilizes a specific arrangement of detectors. instead of bending beams(like a lens) or directing beams(by parallel hole collimator), changes are created in detectors' field of view(FOV), so that each detector's FOV looks different from others. Simulation proved this theory, with 98 detectors(2 cm 9 1.41 cm) arranged in a zigzag manner for Monte Carlo simulation. A radioactive source with energy of140 ke V was situated on the detectors' faces. Sixty projections, each 3(0 –179) apart, were simulated by Monte Carlo N-Particle(MCNP) 4C code, rotating detectors around a radioactive point. The band containing the radioactive source is clearly visible in each *** obtained after simulation in different projections were reconstructed, and point source location emerged correctly. Simulation of gamma camera with zigzag arrangement of detectors and MCNP-4C code demonstrated that one could string the space and determine radioactive source by image reconstruction without using collimators, solely through these special detectors' distribution.

in this paper,a novel cooling control strategy as part of the smart energy system that can balance thermal comfort against building energy consumption by using the sensing and machine programming technology was *** this goal,a general form of a building was coupled by the smart cooling system(SCS)and the consumption of energy with thermal comfort cooling of persons simulated by using the EnergyPlus software and compared with similar buildings without *** the beginning of the research,using the data from a survey in a randomly selected group of hundreds and by analyzing and verifying the results of the specific relationship between the different groups of people in the statistical society,the body mass index(BMi)and their thermal comfort temperature were obtained,and the sample building was modeled using the EnergyPlus *** result show that if an intelligent ventilation system that can calculate the thermal comfort temperature was used in accordance with the BMi of persons,it can save up to 35%of the cooling load of the building yearly.

This paper investigated the uniaxial mechanical properties of a new type of hollow sphere structures. For this new type, the sphere shell was perforated by several holes in order to open the inner sphere volume and surface. The mechanical properties, i.e. elastic properties and initial yield stress of perforated hollow sphere structures （PHSS） in a primitive cubic arrangement were numerically evaluated for different hole diameters and different joining techniques of the hollow spheres. The results are compared to classical configurations without perforation.

The importance of accurate determination of the critical properties of plus fractions in prediction of phase behaviour of hydrocarbon mixtures by equations of state is well known in the petroleum industry. it has been stated in various papers （Elsharkawy, 2001） that using the plus fraction as a single group in equation of state calculations reduces the accuracy of the results. However in this work it has been shown that using the proper values of critical temperature and pressure for the plus fraction group can estimate the properties of hydrocarbon mixtures, and they are accurate enough to be used in reservoir engineering and enhanced oil recovery calculations. in this paper, a new method is proposed for calculating the critical properties of plus fractions of petroleum fluids. One can use this method either in predicting critical pressure and temperature of single carbon numbers （SCNs） after the splitting process or in predicting critical pressure and temperature of the plus fraction as a single group. A comparison study is performed against Riazi-Daubert correlation （Riazi and Daubert, 1987） and sancet correlations （sancet, 2007） for 25 oil samples taken from 14 fields from southwest iran. The results indicate the superiority of the proposed method to the Riazi-Daubert and sancet correlations.

One important step in binary modeling of environmental problems is the generation of absence-datasets that are traditionally generated by random sampling and can undermine the quality of *** solve this problem,this study develops the Absence Point Generation(APG)toolbox which is a Python-based ArcGiS toolbox for automated construction of absence-datasets for geospatial *** APG employs a frequency ratio analysis of four commonly used and important driving factors such as altitude,slope degree,topographic wetness index,and distance from rivers,and considers the presence locations buffer and density layers to define the low potential or susceptibility zones where absence-datasets are *** test the APG toolbox,we applied two benchmark algorithms of random forest(RF)and boosted regression trees(BRT)in a case study to investigate groundwater potential using three absence datasets i.e.,the APG,random,and selection of absence samples(saS)*** BRT-APG and RF-APG had the area under receiver operating curve(AUC)values of 0.947 and 0.942,while BRT and RF had weaker performances with the saS and Random *** effect resulted in AUC improvements for BRT and RF by 7.2,and 9.7%from the Random dataset,and AUC improvements for BRT and RF by 6.1,and 5.4%from the saS dataset,*** APG also impacted the importance of the input factors and the pattern of the groundwater potential maps,which proves the importance of absence points in environmental binary *** proposed APG toolbox could be easily applied in other environmental hazards such as landslides,floods,and gully erosion,and land subsidence.

Retaining walls have been used in many construction projects such as for road and inclined surfaces protection. The damage caused by an earthquake depends on the fundamental frequency, amplitude and the duration of the seismic motion. These parameters strongly depend on the seismic properties of the layers that are near the surface. in the study of retaining walls, in addition to the infl uence of soil, the infl uence of topography is also important. in the present study, site response analysis is performed by using fi nite element software PLAXiS to obtain the eff ect of various factors such as embedded length of the sheet pile, underground water table, length and angle of the nail, shear wave velocity of soil on site eff ect and dynamic response. Moreover, for better understanding of the eff ect of the above parameters, the stability analysis was performed by using shear reduction method. The results show that an increase in the embedded length of the sheet pile and the length of nailing causes an increase in the amplifi cation factor. Moreover, for shear-wave velocity in the range of 200- 600 m/s, the amplifi cation factor increases with increase of the shear-wave velocity due to the decrease of nonlinear behavior.

Discriminating barren and fertile intrusions is one of the main challenges in the search for rare-element *** comprising more than one element can make discrimination of productive and barren samples more *** diagrams distinguish samples by simultaneous means of positive and/or negative correlations between variables.A ternary diagram for S-type peraluminous granites has been obtained in this ***,a database composed of Ta-bearing and barren granitic systems was created,then geochemical behavior of trace elements was studied,and statistical investigations were done using GCDkit software,which resulted in the Ga-(Nb+Ta)-(Nb/Ta)(Zr/Hf)ternary diagram which can distinguish the non-mineralized granites from productive *** Ta-bearing samples,which are situated in the fertile field in the diagram,are those which have high Nb and Ta contents,elevated Ga content and the lowest Nb/Ta and Zr/Hf values.
