Nano-design of ultra-efficient reversible block based on quantum-dot cellular automata

Reversible logic has recently gained significant interest due to its inherent ability to reduce energy dissipation,which is the primary need for low-power digital *** of the newest areas of relevant study is reversible logic,which has applications in many areas,including nanotechnology,DNA computing,quantum computing,fault tolerance,and low-power complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS).An electrical circuit is classified as reversible if it has an equal number of inputs and outputs,and a one-to-one relationship.A reversible circuit is conservative if the EXOR of the inputs and the EXOR of the outputs are *** addition,quantum-dot cellular automata(QCA)is one of the state-of-the-art approaches that can be used as an alternative to traditional ***,we propose an efficient conservative gate with low power demand and high speed in this ***,we present a reversible gate called ANG(Ahmadpour Navimipour Gate).Then,two non-resistant QCA ANG and reversible fault-tolerant ANG structures are implemented in QCA *** suggested reversible gate is realized through the Miller ***,reversible fault-tolerant ANG is implemented by the 2DW clocking ***,the power consumption of the suggested ANG is assessed under different energy ranges(0.5Ek,1.0Ek,and 1.5Ek).Simulations of the structures and analysis of their power consumption are performed using QCADesigner 2.0.03 and QCAPro *** proposed gate shows great improvements compared to recent designs.

Inhibitability of soil loss and sediment concentration during consecutive rainfalls from experimental plots treated by endemic microorganisms

Consecutive rainfalls, due to changes in antecedent moisture, alter soil erosion processes, necessitating the implementation of suitable soil loss control methods. Biological soil microorganism approaches have been applied to control soil loss. However, information on the involvement of microorganisms in the soil loss and rill erosion processes has yet to be supplied. In this study, the individual and combined inoculation of cyanobacteria and bacteria was investigated during five consecutive rainfalls with an interval of three days, an intensity of 50 mm/h, and a duration of 30 min. Also, additional runoff simulation of about 2.18 ± 0.32 L/min was done in mid-sized experimental plots(i.e., 6 m × 1 m × 0.5 m) induced by rill erosion. These experiments were done at the Rainfall and Soil Erosion Simulation Laboratory of the Faculty of Natural Resources, Tarbiat Modares University, Iran. Soil loss and sediment concentration were measured during five consecutive rainfalls in the study treatments and compared with the control treatment. Results showed that the highest soil loss of 30,810.70 g occurred at the control treatment in the first rainfall. In contrast, individual and combined inoculation treatments of cyanobacteria and bacteria with the secretion of polysaccharides and resulting stability of aggregates decreased soil loss significantly(p < 0.01) by 99.65%, 99.91%, and 100.00%, respectively, compared to the control *** the combined treatment of cyanobacteria and bacteria, soil loss further decreased by 68.38%, 70.33%,and 7.27% for 2 through 4, respectively, events and increased by 19.96% in the fifth event, and sediment concentration also decreased by 68.88% and 59.86% for the second and third events, respectively and increased by 4.66% and 83.30% for the fourth and fifth events, respectively. Feedforward Neural Network(FNN)is one of the most popular neural network models that is utilized to solve a wide range of nonlinear and complex *** models such as stochastic gradient descent have been developed to train ***,they mainly suffer from falling into local optima leading to reduce the accuracy of ***,the convergence speed of training process depends on the initial values of weights and biases in ***,these values are randomly determined by most of the training *** deal with these issues,in this paper,we develop a novel evolutionary algorithm by modifying the original version of Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA).To this end,a nonlinear function is introduced to improve the exploration and exploitation phases in the search process of ***,the modified WOA is applied to automatically obtain the initial values of weights and biases in FNN leading to reduce the probability of falling into local *** addition,the FNN model trained by the modified WOA is used to develop a classification approach for medical diagnosis *** medical diagnosis datasets are utilized to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed ***,four evaluation metrics including accuracy,AUC,specificity,and sensitivity are used in the experiments to compare the performance of classification *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is better than other competing classification models due to achieving higher values of accuracy,AUC,specificity,and sensitivity metrics for the used datasets.

Texture evolution and mechanical anisotropic behavior of an ultrafine-grained(UFG)pure copper tube processed by recently introduced method of hydrostatic tube cyclic expansion extrusion(HTCEE)was *** the UFG tube,different deformation behavior and a significant anisotropy in tensile properties were recorded along the longitudinal and peripheral *** HTCEE process increased the yield strength and the ultimate strength in the axial direction by 3.6 and 1.67 times,***,this process increased the yield strength and the ultimate strength in the peripheral direction by 1.15 and 1.12 times,*** ratio of ultimate tensile strength in the peripheral direction to that in the axial direction,as a criterion for mechanical anisotropy,are 1.7 and 1.16 for the as-annealed coarse-grained and the HTCEE processed UFG tube,*** results are indicative of a reducing effect of the HTCEE process on the mechanical ***,after HTCEE process,a low loss of ductility was observed in both directions,which is another advantage of HTCEE *** measurements revealed a slight increment of hardness values in the peripheral direction,which is in agreement with the trend of tensile *** analysis was conducted in order to determine the oriental distribution of the *** obtained{111}pole figures demonstrate the texture evolution and reaffirm the anisotropy observed in mechanical *** electron microscopy micrographs showed that different modes of fracture occurred after tensile testing in the two orthogonal directions.

The discrete element method(DEM)is a capable tool used to simulate shear wave propagation in granular assemblies for many *** have studied assembly shapes such as rectangles(in 2D simulations)or cylinders and cubes(in 3D simulations).This paper aimed to qualify the effect of assembly shape on the shear wave propagation and maximum amplification in the vertical plane(horizontal and vertical directions)caused by this *** this end,shear wave propagations in different assembly shapes such as rectangle,trapezium,and triangle with rigid boundary conditions were simulated.A sine wave pulse was applied with a point source by moving a particle as the transmitter *** evaluate the shear wave velocity of the assemblies,the transmitter and receiver particles were *** the simulations were performed with 2D DEM which is a useful tool to determine the amount and location of the maximum amplification factor of the assembly in both horizontal and vertical *** advantage of this study was assessing the effect of parameters such as input wave frequency,assembly height,shape,and aspect ratios on the amplification of the input waves.

Solar radiation-based method for early design stages to balance daylight and thermal comfort in office buildings

There is a lack of facade design methods for early design stages to balance thermal comfort and daylight provision that consider the obstruction angle as an independent variable without using modeling and *** paper aims to develop easy-to use solar radiationbased prediction method for the design of office building facades(i.e.,design parameters:room size,window-to-floor ratio,and glazing thermal/optical properties)located in urban canyons to balance daylight provision according to the European standard EN 17037:2018 and thermal comfort through specific cooling *** used a simulation-based methodology that includes correlation analyses between building performance metrics and design parameters,the development of design workflows,accuracy analysis,and validation through the application of the workflows to a new development office building facades located in Tallinn,*** validation showed that the mean percentage of right/conservative predictions of thermal comfort classes is 98.8%whereas for daylight provision,it is higher than 75.6%.The use of the proposed prediction method can help designers to work more efficiently during early design stages and to obtain optimal performative solutions in much shorter time:window sizing in 73,152 room combinations in 80 s.
