Application of functional near-infrared spectroscopy in the healthcare industry:A review

Functional near-infrared spectrosoopy(NIRS),a growing neuroimaging modality,has been utilized over the past few decades to understand the neuronal behavior in the *** technique has been used to assess the brain hemodynamics of impaired cohorts as well as *** is a critical technique for patients with inpaired cognitive or motor *** portable nature of the fNIRS system is suitable for frequent monitoring of the patients who exhibit impaired brain *** study comprehensively reviews brain impaired patients:The studies involving patient populations and the diseases discussed in more than 10 works are *** diseases examined in this paper include autism spectrum disorder,attentiondeficit hyperactivity disorder,epilepsy,depressive disorders,anxiety and panic disorder,schizophrenia,mild cognitive impairment,Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,stroke,and traumatic brain *** each disease,the tasks used for exarmination,NIRS variables,and significant findings on the impairment are *** channel configurations and the regions of interest are also *** the occurrence of symptoms at an earlier stage is vital for better rehabilitation and faster *** paper ilustrates the usability of fNIRS for early detection of inpairment and the usefulness in monitoring the rehabilitation ***,the limitations of the current fNIRS systems(ie,nonexistence of a standard method and the lack of well-established features for classification)and future research directions are *** authors hope that the findings in this paper would lead to advanced breakthrough discoveries in the fNIRS field in the future.

GPGPU-parallelised hybrid finite-discrete element modelling of rock chipping and fragmentation process in mechanical cutting

Mechanical cutting provides one of the most flexible and environmentally friendly excavation *** has attracted numerous efforts to model the rock chipping and fragmentation process,especially using the explicit finite element method(FEM) and bonded particle model(BPM),in order to improve cutting *** study investigates the application of a general-purpose graphic-processing-unit parallelised hybrid finite-discrete element method(FDEM) which enjoys the advantages of both explicit FEM and BPM,in modelling the rock chipping and fragmentation process in the rock scratch test of mechanical rock *** input parameters of FDEM are determined through a calibration procedure of modelling conventional Brazilian tensile and uniaxial compressive tests of limestone,A series of scratch tests with various cutting velocities,cutter rake angles and cutting depths is then modelled using FDEM with calibrated input parameters.A few cycles of cutter/rock interactions,including their engagement and detachment process,are modelled for each case,which is conducted for the first time to the best knowledge of the authors,thanks to the general purpose graphic processing units(GPGPU) *** failure mechanism,cutting force,chipping morphology and effect of various factors on them are discussed on the basis of the modelled ***,it is concluded that GPGPU-parallelised FDEM provides a powerful tool to further study rock cutting and improve cutting efficiencies since it can explicitly capture different fracture mechanisms contributing to the rock chipping as well as chip formation and the separation process in mechanical ***,it is concluded that chipping is mostly owed to the mix-mode Ⅰ-Ⅱ fracture in all cases although mode Ⅱ cracks and mode Ⅰ cracks are the dominant failures in rock cutting with shallow and deep cutting depths,*** chip morphology is found to be a function of cutter velocdty,cutting depth and cutter rake angl

制备特殊用途的AlCuFe合金,评估生长速率变化导致的结果,因为材料生长速率不同而引起的共晶间距(显微组织)的变化会影响其力学、电和热性能。为了研究AlCuFe合金的显微组织,在恒定的温度梯度(G=8.50 K/mm)和5种不同的生长速率(V=8.25,16.60,41.65,90.05,164.80μm/s)下,通过定向凝固法制备共晶成分的Al−32.5%Cu−0.5%Fe(质量分数)合金。得到生长速率对共晶间距影响,并通过对显微组织变化的回归分析及Hall−Petch关系得出显微硬度和极限拉伸强度。结果表明,尽管生长速率增加约20倍,但共晶间距却减少约5个数量级,而生长速率和显微组织变化导致的力学性能变化约为1.5个数量级。

Flexible and reconfigurable radio frequency electronics realized by high-throughput screen printing of vanadium dioxide switches

Smart materials that can change their properties based on an applied stimulus are in high demand due to their suitability for reconfigurable electronics,such as tunable filters or *** particular,materials that undergo a metal–insulator transition(MIT),for example,vanadium dioxide(VO 2)(M),are highly attractive due to their tunable electrical and optical properties at a low transition temperature of 68°*** deposition of this material on a limited scale has been demonstrated through vacuum-based fabrication methods,its scalable application for large-area and high-volume processes is still *** printing can be a viable option because of its high-throughput fabrication process on flexible *** this work,we synthesize high-purity VO 2(M)microparticles and develop a screen-printable VO 2 ink,enabling the large-area and high-resolution printing of VO 2 switches on various *** electrical properties of screen-printed VO 2 switches at the microscale are thoroughly investigated under both thermal and electrical stimuli,and the switches exhibit a low ON resistance of 1.8 ohms and an ON/OFF ratio of more than *** electrical performance of the printed switches does not degrade even after multiple bending cycles and for bending radii as small as *** a proof of concept,a fully printed and mechanically flexible band-pass filter is demonstrated that utilizes these printed switches as reconfigurable *** on the ON and OFF conditions of the VO 2 switches,the filter can reconfigure its operating frequency from 3.95 to 3.77 GHz without any degradation in performance during bending.

Screen printing of silver nanowires: balancing conductivity with transparency while maintaining flexibility and stretchability

Printing metal nanowires are particularly attractive as compared to conventional coating methods due to the ease of processing,direct patterning,and large-scale fabrication ***,it is still challenging to print metal nanowire patterns that simultaneously have high conductivity,high transparency,flexibility,and *** steps have been taken in this work to balance the transparency and conductivity of the screen-printed flexible and stretchable silver nanowire films,(1)selection of the ink formulation,(2)optimization of the printing parameters,and(3)posttreatment with a *** as-obtained silver nanowire patterns are large-area and demonstrate an ultralow sheet resistance of 1.9 ohm/sq,high transmittance(73%)at the wavelength of 550 nm,and an ultrahigh figure of merit(~136)as compared to the printed silver nanowire electrodes in the *** screenprinted transparent patterns exhibit excellent electrical stability and mechanical repeatability when subjected to 1000 bending cycles with a bending radius of 28 mm and 1000 stretch-release cycles with 10%strain,which makes the transparent patterns suitable for the fabrication of flexible,transparent microwave *** absorption performance of the prepared frequency selective surface absorbers indicates no obvious degradation after various manipulating configurations and multiple bending and stretching *** results are promising enough to make this ink and screen-printing process suitable for many applications of flexible,stretchable,and transparent electronics.

Surface plasmon polariton at the interface of dielectric and graphene medium using Kerr effect

We theoretically investigate the control of surface plasmon polariton（SPP） generated at the interface of dielectric and graphene medium under Kerr nonlinearity. The controlled Kerr nonlinear signal of probe light beam in a dielectric medium is used to generate SPPs at the interface of dielectric and graphene medium. The positive, negative absorption, and dispersion properties of SPPs are modified and controlled by the control and Kerr fields. A large amplification（negative absorption） is noted for SPPs under the Kerr nonlinearity. The normal/anomalous slope of dispersion and propagation length of SPPs is modified and controlled with Kerr nonlinearity. This leads to significant variation in slow and fast SPP propagation. The controlled slow and fast SPP propagation may predict significant applications in nano-photonics, optical tweezers, photovoltaic devices, plasmonster, and sensing technology.

Coat-and-print patterning of silver nanowires for flexible and transparent electronics

Silver nanowires(Ag NWs)possess excellent optoelectronic properties,which have led to many technology-focused applications of transparent and flexible *** of these applications require patterning of Ag NWs into desired shapes,for which maskbased and printing-based techniques have been developed and widely ***,there are still several limitations associated to these *** limitations,such as complicated patterning procedures,limited patterning area,and compromised optical transparency,hamper the efficient fabrication of high-performance Ag NW ***,we propose a coat-and-print approach for effectively patterning Ag *** printed a polymer-based ink on the spin-coated Ag NW *** ink acts as a protective layer to help remove excess Ag NWs from the substrate and then dissolves itself into an organic *** this way,we can take advantage of both coating-based techniques(lead to Ag NWs with high transparency)and printing-based techniques(efficiently pattern diverse shapes).The resultant Ag NW patterns exhibit comparable conductivity(sheet resistance:7.1 to 30 Ohm/sq)and transparency(transmittance:84 to 95%atλ=550 nm)to those made by conventional coating *** addition,the patterned Ag NWs exhibit robust mechanical stability and reliability,surviving extensive bending and peeling *** to higher conductivity,efficient patterning ability and inherent transparency,this material system and application method is highly suitable for transparent and flexible *** a proof of concept,this research demonstrates a wide-band antenna,operating in the mm-wave range that includes the 5G communication *** proposed antenna exhibits a wide bandwidth of 26 GHz(from 17.9 GHz to 44 GHz),robust return loss under 1000 cyclic bending(bending radius of 3.5 mm),and decent transparency over the entire visible wavelength(86.8%transmittance atλ=550 nm).This work’s promising results indicate that this method can be adapted for r

Diffusion Monte Carlo calculations on LaB molecule

Potential energy curves for the lowest electronic states of LaB and LaB- have been calculated by ab initio *** diffusion Monte Carlo method has been employed in combination with three different trial functions. Spectroscopic constants have also been numerically derived for the neutral molecule and compared with the only available theoretical work;^（[19]） however, predictions are provided for the corresponding constants for the anionic species which have not been reported yet. Our calculations suggest the high spin quintet state of LaB as the ground state with the triplet state higher in energy irrespective of the type of the functional used. This suggestion is in good accordance with the previous theoretical results calculated at B3LYP/LANL2DZ level of theory, whereas it contradicts with the prediction based upon B3LYP/SDD calculations in the same study. Moreover, variations of the permanent dipole moments as a function of the internuclear separations for the two electronic states of the neutral molecule have been studied and analyzed.
