In this editorial,we comment on an article by Liao et al published in the current issue of the World Journal of *** focus on the clinical significance of tibial transverse transport(TTT)as an effective treatment for patients with diabetic foot ulcers(DFU).TTT has been associated with tissue regeneration,improved blood circulation,reduced amputation rates,and increased expression of early angiogenic ***,TTT can influence macrophage polarization and growth factor *** this potential,the limitations and conflicting results of existing studies justify the need for further research into its optimal application and *** clinical implications highlight the efficacy of TTT in recalcitrant DFU and provide lasting stimuli for tissue re-generation,and blood vessel and bone marrow ***-lation via systemic responses contributes to its therapeutic *** studies should investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms to enhance our understanding and the efficacy of *** manuscript emphasizes the potential of TTT in limb preservation and diabetic wound healing and suggests avenues for preventive measures against limb amputation in diabetes and peripheral artery ***,we highlight the clinical significance of the TTT and its importance in healing DFU to promote the use of this technique in tissue regeneration.

Let （M, ω） be a closed symplectic 2n-dimensional manifold. Donaldson in his paper showed that there exist 2m-dimensional symplectie submanifolds （V^2m,ω） of （M,ω）, 1 ≤m ≤ n - 1, with （m - 1）-equivalent inclusions. On the basis of this fact we obtain isomorphic relations between kernel of Lefschetz map of M and kernels of Lefschetz maps of Donaldson submanifolds V^2m, 2 ≤ m ≤ n - 1. Then, using this relation, we show that the flux group of M is discrete if the action of π1 （M） on π2（M） is trivial and there exists a retraction r ： M→ V, where V is a 4-dimensional Donaldson submanifold. And, in the symplectically aspherical case, we investigate the flux groups of the manifolds.

We have studied the redox potentials and electronic properties of C60 and C59N using density functional theory method. It is found that doping C60 with one nitrogen atom results in a slight increase in redox potential. Next, we have also studied C59N functionalized with various redox-active oxygen containing functional groups and strongly electron withdrawing functional groups. It is found that the intrinsic electronic structure of the molecule is the major determinant of the redox potential. Our DFT calculations show that the electron affinity to redox potential of functionalized C59N is correlated with the LUMO of the systems very well. This is the first systematic study on the redox properties and electronic structures of N-doped C60 systems.

Group I niobates(KNbO_(3) and NaNbO_(3))are promising lead-free alternatives for high-performance energy storage *** their potential,their complex phase transitions arising from temperature-dependent phonon softening and anharmonic effects on dielectric properties remain poorly *** this study,we employ density-functional theory(DFT)and self-consistent phonon(SCP)calculations to investigate finite-temperature phonons in cubic niobate *** include explicit anharmonic vibrational effects,SCP frequencies are shifted by the bubble self-energy correction within the quasiparticle(QP)approximation,providing precise descriptions of phonon softening in these strongly anharmonic *** further calculate the static dielectric constant of KNbO_(3) and NaNbO_(3) as a function of temperature using the Lyddane-Sachs-Teller(LST)relation and QP-corrected phonon *** theoretical results align with experimental data,offering reliable temperature-dependent phonon dispersions while considering anharmonic self-energies and thermal expansion effects,enhancing our understanding of the complex relations between lattice vibrations and phase transitions in these anharmonic oxides.

The carbon dioxide （CO2） concentrations and fluxes measured at a height of 17.5 m above the ground by a sonic anemometer and an open-path gas analyzer at an urban residential site in Seoul, Korea from February 2011 to January 2012 were analyzed. The annual mean CO2 concentration was found to be 750 mg m-3, with a maximum monthly mean concentration of 827 mg m-3 in January and a minimum value of 679 mg m-3 in August. Meanwhile, the annual mean CO2 flux was found to be 0.45 mg m-2 s-1, with a maximum monthly mean flux of 0.91 mg m-2 s-1 in January and a minimum value of 0.19 mg m-2 s-1 in June. The hourly mean CO2 concentration was found to show a significant diurnal variation; a maximum at 0700-0900 LST and a minimum at 1400-1600 LST, with a large diurnal range in winter and a small one in summer, mainly caused by diurnal changes in mixing height, CO2 flux, and surface complexity. The hourly mean CO2 flux was also found to show a significant diurnal variation, but it showed two maxima at 0700-0900 LST and 2100-2400 LST, and two minima at 1100-1500 LST and 0300-0500 LST, mainly caused by a diurnal pattern in CO2 emissions and sinks from road traffic, domestic heating and cooking by liquefied natural gas use, and the different horizontal distribution of CO2 sources and sinks near the site. Differential advection with respect to wind direction was also found to be a cause of diurnal variations in both the CO2 concentration and flux.

The present study was aimed that determine the effects of polysaccharide isolated from fermented barley about tumor metastasis inhibition via immune related factors such as complementary system,macrophages,natural killer(NK)cells,and cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL).To characterize the tumor inhibition effects through immunostimulation of polysaccharides purified from fermented barley,the active crude polysaccharide(BF-CP)was isolated from fermented barley and further fractionated into three purified polysaccharides(BF-I,-II,and-III)with different molecular weights through gel permeation ***-I was mainly composed of four monosaccharides,including xylose(32.90%),arabinose(26.71%),and glucose(33.43%).BF-I augmented the secretion of cytokines,such as interleukin(IL)-6,IL-12,and tumor necrosis factor-α,through peritoneal macrophages and potently activated the complement *** the experiment for NK cells and CTL activities,intravenous(i.v.)administration of BF-I significantly augmented the cytotoxicity of NK cells and CTL-mediated cytotoxicity against tumor *** addition,*** of BF-I potently inhibited tumor metastasis in a mouse model of lung cancer and tumor metastasis in mice with suppressed NK cell function through anti-asialo ***,BF-I shows potent tumor inhibition effects,and these effects are related to various immune factors such as macrophages,the complement system,NK cells,and ***,BF-I,the polysaccharide purified from fermented barley possess the new possibility for developing functional foods and medical ingredients.

The potent anti-cancer metastatic effects induced by the immunostimulatory activities of intravenously administered BF–I,an active polysaccharide purified from fermented barley,were previously *** study aimed to evaluate the anti-cancer metastatic effect of orally administered BF–I and elucidated the microstructure and active moiety of BF–I using sequential enzymatic *** experiments using Colon26-M3.1 carcinoma,prophylactic oral administration of BF–I potently suppressed lung cancer ***,gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis of partially methylated alditol acetate showed that BF–I comprised 15 different glycosyl linkages,including 4-linked Xylp(16.1%),terminal Araf(12.4%),4-linked Glcp(32.8%),3-linked Glcp(13.5%),3,6-linked Glcp(1.5%),and 3,6-linked Galp(5.3%).These glycosyl linkage combinations are typical for arabinoxylan,yeast-derivedβ-glucan,barley-derivedβ-glucan,and type II *** clarify the microstructure,BF–I was sequentially degraded via linkage-specific enzymatic hydrolysis using five ***,the sugar composition,glycosyl linkage,and reactivity with theβ-glucosyl Yariv reagent were analyzed,along with sequencing based on tandem mass spectra of partially degraded fragment *** results confirmed that BF–I comprises a mixture of four different types of polysaccharides(arabinoxylan,yeast-derivedβ-glucan,barley-derivedβ-glucan,and type II arabinogalactan)with similar molecular ***,different polysaccharides contribute significantly to cytokine(interleukin-6,-12,and tumor necrosis factor-α)secretion by peritoneal ***,the potent anti-cancer metastatic activity of BF–I is proposed to be related to the immunostimulatory activities of the four different types of polysaccharides.

This study aimed to evaluate the anti-cancer effects as well as stimulation of various immune related factors such as complementary system, macrophages, and NK cells of polysaccharides isolated from Panax ginseng (P. ginseng) leaf. The polysaccharide fractions (PGEP, PGEP-I, -II, and -III) isolated from P. ginseng were contained rhamnose (Rha), arabinose (Ara), galactose (Gal), galacturonic acid (GalA), and glucuronic acid (GlcA), all of which are typical sugar components of rhamnogalacturonan (RG)-I. Only PGEP-I reacted with the beta-glucosyl Yariv reagent (37.29%), indicating the presence of type-II arabinogalactan. Additionally, methylation analysis indicated the PGEP-I mainly comprised 19 different sugar linkages including 4-linked GalpA, 2,4-linked Rhap, 3,6-linked Galp, 5-linked Araf, terminal GlcpA, and terminal Arap which are characteristics of RG-I. Meanwhile, PGEP-I enhanced the production of cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-6, IL-12, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha and augmented the complement system. The intravenous administration of PGEP-I activated the natural killer (NK) cells in a dosedependent manner against YAC-1. Prophylactic intravenous administration of PGEP-I significantly suppressed Colon26-M3.1 carcinoma inoculation-induced lung cancer (48.7%). Moreover, the anti-cancer effects of PGEP-I were significant even though NK cell functions were blocked by anti-asialo GM1. The findings suggest that PGEPI, an RG-I polysaccharide, not only activates the complement system, macrophages and NK cells, but also has strong anticancer effects that inhibit lung cancer.

In previous study, potent anti-metastatic activities of turmeric-derived pectic polysaccharide (TP) via immune enhancing effects of intravenous and oral administration were evaluated. The present study was designed to elucidate intracellular signaling pathway for macrophage activation by the rhamnogalacturonan-I type polysaccharide (TPE-I) purified from TP. TPE-I increased the production of interleukin (IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha, and nitric oxide (NO) by RAW264.7 cells. In addition, immunoblotting analysis indicated that TPE-I dose-dependently phosphorylated the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and nuclear factor-xB (NF-xB) pathways. Subsequently, TPE-I induced the translocation of activated NF-xB into the nuclei, which was observed by confocal laser scanning microscopy. In the specific inhibitor experiments, cytokines and chemokine secretions were found to be suppressed by BAY11-7082, JNK inhibitor II, and SB20358. Furthermore, the experiments with neutralizing antibodies showed that pattern recognition receptors, such as dectin-1, toll-like receptor (TLR)2, TLR4, cluster of differentiation (CD)14, complement receptors (CR)3, mannose receptor (MR), and scavenger receptor (SR) were involved in cytokine and chemokine secretions by TPE-I in RAW264.7 cells. Consequently, these results suggest that TPE-I phosphorylated the MAPK and NF-xB signaling pathways via mainly the dectin-1, TLR2, TLR4, CD14, CR3, MR, and SR receptors to macrophage, and subsequently induced the secretion of IL-6, TNF-alpha and NO.
