The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) is a global pandemic that has heavily impacted not only the health sector, but also the economic sector in *** countries have projected a negative economic impact, and the effect on micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises(MSMEs) is predicted to be significantly *** study estimated the regional resistance of MSME sales revenues and identified the regional economic factors that affect resistance by analyzing South Korea, a country with one of the lowest economic impact projections from COVID-19. Resistance was estimated by comparing sales revenues and changes in resistance observed during the early COVID-19 period to those recorded in the same weeks(weeks 6 to 9) of 2019. The factors that affect regional resistance were determined by conducting robust regression and spatial regression analyses. The results show that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, a direct risk factor, is negatively related to regional resilience, while diversity is positively related to regional resistance. To improve the regional resistance against uncertain events, this study recommends increased diversity among regional industrial structures to reduce the duration of the early shock of an unexpected adverse event.

Most probable number （MPN） and colony-forming unit （CFU） estimates of fecal indicator bacteria （FIB） concentration are common measures of water quality in aquatic environments. Thus, FIB intensively monitored in Yeongsan Watershed in an attempt to compare two different methods and to develop a statistical model to convert from CFU to MPN estimates or vice versa. As a result, the significant difference was found in the MPN and CFU estimates. The enumerated Escherichia coli concentrations in MPN are greater than those in CFU, except for the measurement in winter. Especially in fall, E. coli concentrations in MPN are one order of magnitude greater than that in CFU. Contrarily, enterococci bacteria in MPN are lower than those in CFU. However, in general, a strongly positive relationship are found between MPN and CFU estimates. Therefore, the statistical models were developed, and showed the reasonable converting FIB concentrations from CFU estimates to MPN estimates. We expect this study will provide preliminary information towards future research on whether different analysis methods may result in different water quality standard violation frequencies for the same water sample.

Background:Pyelonephritis in infants is considered as a major factor for the formation of renal *** prevent recurrent pyelonephritis and renal damage,prophylaxis is extremely *** aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of probiotic and antibiotic prophylaxis or no-prophylaxis in infants with pyelonephritis and normal urinary ***:Altogether 191 infants,who were diagnosed with acute pyelonephritis,proven to have normal urinary tracts and followed up for 6 months on prophylaxis,were retrospectively *** to the types of prophylaxis,the infants were divided into three groups[probiotics(Lactobacillus species),antibiotics(trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole,TMP/SMX),and noprophylaxis].The incidence of recurrent urinary tract infection(UTI)during 6 months after the development of pyelonephritis,main causative uropathogens,and its antimicrobial sensitivities were ***:The incidence of recurrent UTI in the probiotic group was 8.2%,which was significantly lower than 20.6%in the no-prophylaxis group(P=0.035)and was not significantly different from 10.0%of the antibiotic group(P=0.532).The significant difference between the probiotic and no-prophylaxis groups was seen only in male infants(P=0.032).The main causative organism of recurrent UTI was Escherichia coli(***),which was not different among the three groups(P=0.305).The resistance rate of *** to TMP/SMX was 100%in the antibiotic group,which was significantly higher than 25.0%in the probiotic group and 41.7%in the no-prophylaxis group(P=0.008).Conclusion:Probiotic prophylaxis was more effective in infants with pyelonephritis and normal urinary tract than in those with *** could be used as a natural alternative to antibiotic prophylaxis.

Inspired by the controversy over tensile deformation modes of single-crystalline 〈110〉/{111} Au nanowires, we investigated the dependency of the deformation mode on diameters of nanowires using the molecular dynamics technique. A new criterion for assessing the preferred deformation mode-slip or twin propagation--of nanowires as a function of nanowire diameter is presented. The results demonstrate the size-dependent transition, from superplastic deformation mediated by twin propagation to the rupture by localized slips in deformed region as the nanowire diameter decreases. Moreover, the criterion was successfully applied to explain the superplastic deformation of Cu nanowires.

Background: The recently proposed definition of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD) is based on the co-existence of hepatic steatosis with other metabolic disorders, including obesity and metabolic risk abnormalities such as hyperglycemia, high blood pressure and dyslipidemia. This study aimed to assess MAFLD severity according to the presence of metabolic abnormalities and obesity. Methods: Using transient elastography, hepatic steatosis and fibrosis severity were assessed by measuring the controlled attenuation parameter and liver stiffness measurement. A total of 1163 patients with MAFLD were categorized into the following four groups according to metabolic risk abnormalities and obesity presence: non-obese without metabolic risk abnormality group(Group 1;reference group);nonobese with metabolic risk abnormality group(Group 2);obese without metabolic risk abnormality group(Group 3);and obese with metabolic risk abnormality group(Group 4). A multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to determine severe hepatic steatosis and fibrosis risk in each group in both unadjusted and adjusted models. Results: In the adjusted model, the odds ratios(ORs) [95% confidence interval(CI)] for severe hepatic steatosis in Groups 2, 3, and 4 were 1.07(0.61-1.88), 2.43(1.44-4.08), and 4.07(2.56-6.48), respectively( P trend minant of severe hepatic steatosis and fibrosis in patients with MAFLD.

BACKGROUND Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome(PRES)is characterized mainly by occipital and parietal lobe involvement,which can be reversible within a few ***,we report a rare case of PRES that developed after craniotomy for an unruptured intracranial aneurysm(UIA).CASE SUMMARY A 59-year-old man underwent clipping surgery for the treatment of UIA arising from the left middle cerebral *** surgery was performed uneventfully,and he regained consciousness quickly immediately after the *** the 4th hour after surgery,he developed a disorder of consciousness and *** resonance imaging revealed cortical and subcortical T2/FLAIR hyperintensities in the parietal,occipital,and frontal lobes ipsilaterally,without restricted diffusion,consistent with unilateral *** conservative treatment,his symptoms and radiological findings almost completely disappeared within *** our case,the important causative factor of PRES was suspected to be a sudden increase in cerebral perfusion pressure associated with temporary M1 *** Our unique case highlights that,to our knowledge,this is the second report of PRES developing after craniotomy for the treatment of *** must keep PRES in mind as one of the causes of perioperative neurological abnormality following clipping of an UIA.

This paper presents the power hardware in the loop(PHIL)validation of a feed forward DC voltage control scheme for the fault ride through(FRT)of voltage source converter(VSC)high voltage DC(HVDC)connected offshore wind power plants(WPPs).In the proposed FRT scheme,the WPP collector network AC voltage is actively controlled by considering both the DC voltage error and the AC current from the WPP AC collector system which ensures fast and robust FRT of the VSC HVDC connected offshore *** PHIL tests were carried out in order to verify the efficacy of the proposed feed forward DC voltage control scheme for enhancing the FRT capability of the VSC HVDC connected *** PHIL test results have demonstrated the proper control coordination between the offshore WPP and the WPP side VSC and the efficient FRT of the VSC HVDC connected WPPs.

AIM: To assess the efficacy and safety of a patientpositioning device(EZ-FIX) for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP).METHODS: A total of 105 patients were randomized to the EZ-FIX(n = 53) or non-EZ-FIX(n = 52) group in this prospective study. Midazolam and propofol,titrated to provide an adequate level of sedation during therapeutic ERCP, were administered by trained registered nurses under endoscopist *** outcome measures were the total dose of propofol and sedative-related complications, including hypoxia and hypotension. Secondary outcome measures were recovery time and sedation satisfaction of the endoscopist, nurses, and ***: There was no significant difference in the rate of hypoxia, but there was a statistical trend(EX-FIX group; n = 4, 7.55%, control group; n = 6, 11.53%,P = 0.06). The mean total dose of propofol was lower in the EZ-FIX group than in the non-EZ-FIX group(89.43 ± 49.8 mg vs 112.4 ± 53.8 mg, P = 0.025).In addition, the EZ-FIX group had a shorter mean recovery time(11.23 ± 4.61 mg vs 14.96 ± 5.12 mg, P< 0.001). Sedation satisfaction of the endoscopist and nurses was higher in the *** group than in the nonEZ-FIX group. Technical success rates of the procedure were 96.23% and 96.15%, respectively(P = 0.856).Procedure-related complications did not differ by group(11.32% vs 13.46%, respectively, P = 0.735).CONCLUSION: Using EZ-FIX reduced the total dose of propofol and the recovery time, and increased the satisfaction of the endoscopist and nurses.

To achieve active control of the AC voltage magnitude of wind power plant(WPP)collector network and improve the fault ride-through(FRT)capability,an FRT scheme based on feed forward DC voltage control is presented for voltage source converter-high voltage direct current(VSC-HVDC)connected offshore *** steady state operation,an open loop AC voltage control is implemented at the WPP-side VSC of the HVDC system so that any possible control interactions between WPP-side VSC and VSC of wind turbine are *** during any grid fault,a dynamic AC voltage reference is made according to both the DC voltage error and AC active current from the WPP collector system,thus ensuring fast and robust FRT of the VSC-HVDC-connected offshore *** the unbalanced fault condition in the host power system,the resulting oscillatory DC voltage is directly used in the VSC AC voltage controller at the WPP side so that the WPP collector system voltage also reflects the unbalance in the main *** domain simulations are performed to verify the efficacy of the FRT scheme based on the proposed feed forward DC voltage *** results show satisfactory FRT responses of the VSC-HVDC-connected offshore WPP under balanced and unbalanced faults in the host power system,as is shown under a serious fault in the WPP collector network.
