2D spinel ZnCo_(2)O_(4) microsheet-coated functional separator for promoted redox kinetics and inhibited polysulfide dissolution

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are receiving increasing attention as one of the potential next-generation batteries,owing to their high energy densities and low ***,practical Li-S batteries with high energy densities are extremely hindered by the sulfur loss,low Coulombic efficiency,and short cycling life originating from the polysulfide(LiPS)*** this study,two-dimensional(2D)ZnCo_(2)O_(4) microsheets fabricated by a facile hydrothermal process are employed to modify the separator,for improving the electrochemical performances of Li-S *** resulting 2D Zn Co_(2)O_(4)-coated separator features a coating thickness of approximately 10 lm,high ionic conductivity of 1.8 m S/cm,and low mass loading of 0.2 mg/cm^(2).This 2D ZnCo_(2)O_(4)-coated separator effectively inhibits Li PS shuttle by a strong chemical interaction with Li PS as well as promotes the redox kinetics by Zn CO2O4-coated layers,as determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis,self-discharge,time-dependent permeation test,Li symmetric cell test,and Li2S nucleation ***,the Li-S batteries based on the 2D Zn Co_(2)O_(4)-coated separator exhibit a high initial discharge capacity of 1292.2 m Ah/g at 0.1 ***,they exhibit excellent long cycle stability at 1 and 2 C with capacity retention of 84%and 86%even after800 cycles,corresponding to a capacity fading rate of 0.020%and 0.016%per cycle,***,these Li-S cells with a high sulfur loading at 5.3 mg/cm^(2) and low electrolyte concentration of 9 l L/mg deliver a high discharge capacity of 4.99 m Ah/cm^(2) after 200 cycles at 0.1 C.

The electrical properties of solder contact layers between Cu-Ni shunt metal and tube type Bi2212 superconductor that is applied in superconducting fault current limiter were *** contact properties of the solders are improved not only by Ag precoating layers,but also by the pre-sprayed Ag layer and subsequent Ag precoating *** annealed Ag sprayed layers onto Bi2212 superconductor prior to Ag electroplating work as protecting layers for the superconductor from plating *** contact angle of the electroplated Ag layer is 42.91° and decreases to 15.25° and 5.88° with Ag sprayed layer and additional Ag electroplated *** Ag sprayed layer with suitable annealing prior to Ag electroplating improves contact strength of the Ag electroplated layer by about 12% due to denser microstructure of the Ag electroplated layers.

Spontaneous rupture of hepatic metastasis from a thymoma: A case report

Bleeding resulting from spontaneous rupture of the liver is an infrequent but potentially life threatening complication that may be associated with an underlying liver disease. A hepatocellular carcinoma or hepatic adenoma is frequently reported is such cases. however, hemoperitoneum resulting from a hepatic metastatic thymoma is extremely rare. Here, we present a case of a 62-year-old man with hypovolemic shock induced by ruptured hepatic metastasis from a thymoma. At the first hospital admission, the patient had a 45-mm anterior mediastinal mass that was eventually diagnosed as a type A thymoma. The mass was excised, and the patient was disease-free for 6 years. He experienced sudden-onset right upper quadrant pain and was again admitted to our hospital. We noted large hemoperitoneum with a 10-cm encapsulated mass in S5/8 and a 2.3-cm nodular lesion in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen. He was diagnosed with hepatic metastasis from the thymoma, and he underwent chemotherapy and surgical excision.

Structural optimization for ball valve made of CF8M stainless steel

The mechanical and chemical properties of CF8M were studied through experiments. An application of CF8M in valve body was analyzed by using finite element method(FEM) to evaluate the structural safety. An optimization containing several variables based on the response surface method(RSM) was conducted to find the optimum dimension of the valve. The results show that using this process can save valve mass as well as the computational expense effectively.

Effects of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction(Yukmijihwang-tang)on Physical Fatigue by Regulating Neurotransmitters in Brain

Objective:To study the effect of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction(六味地黄汤)or Yukmijihwangtang(YJT)on endurance exercise by in vivo ***:ICR mice were randomly divided into the control group(distilled water)and the YJT groups(1,10,100 mg/kg),5 animals per *** and distilled water were orally *** anti-fatigue effect of YJT was evaluated by open fifiled test(OFT),forced swimming test(FST),and tail suspension test(TST).Results:In the OFT,YJT signifificantly increased the total movement distance in a dose-dependent ***,treatment with YJT signifificantly decreased immobility time in the FST and the *** neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine(NE),serotonin(5-HT),dopamine(DA)levels were increased by *** of YJT down-regulated the expression levels of NE,5-HT,5-hydroxyindole-acetic acid(5-HIAA),and DA in the brain stem and hypothalamus of ***,protein expression of HSP70 in mice liver and heart muscles was signifificantly increased in the YJT ***:YJT could ameliorate fatigue and enhance exercise tolerance through suppressing of brain monoamines including NE,5-HT,5-HIAA,and DA in FST mice model.

Influence of the wastewater composition on denitrification and biological P-removal in the S-DN-P process: (c) Dissolved and undissolved substrates

The denitdfication and P-removal in the sorption-denitrification-P-removal （S-DN-P） process were carded out under various wastewater compositions. It is noted that P-removal largely depends on the wastewater composition as well to the quantity of the substrates present in wastewater fraction. Three different wastewater fractions are obtained as： raw wastewater, dissolved wastewater （obtained with filtration using 0.45 μm filter）, and undissolved wastewater （i.e., infiltrate obtained by above filtration）. The ratio of P-release/CODtotal-consumption clearly inferred that undissolved wastewater possess very low value i.e., 0.0008 followed by raw wastewater 0.008 and dissolved wastewater 0.03. When this ratio was nearby 0.01, enhanced P-removal was observed. Moreover, the ratio of P-uptake to NO3^--N decomposition for raw wastewater was two times for dissolved wastewater. Interestingly, it was observed that the P-removal and denitrification depend not only on the dissolved substrates but also the undissolved substrates present in the wastewater. The result of the P-removal obtained with this S-DN-P process did not show a big difference of 36%, 34% and 30%, respectively, for raw, dissolved and undissolved wastewater.

Three-dimensional porous graphene-metal oxide composite microspheres： Preparation and application in Li-ion batteries

The use of new three-dimensional （3D） porous graphene-metal oxide composite microspheres as an anode material for Li-ion batteries （LIBs） is first introduced here. 3D graphene microspheres are aggregates of individual hollow graphene nanospheres composed of graphene sheets. Metal oxide nanocrystals are uniformly distributed over the graphene surface of the microspheres. The 3D porous graphene-SnO2 microspheres are selected as the first target material for investigation because of their superior electrochemical properties. The 3D porous graphene-SnO2 and graphene microspheres and bare SnO2 powders deliver discharge capacities of 1,009, 196, and 52 mAh·g^-1, respectively, after 500 cycles at a current density of 2 A·g^-1 .The 3D porous graphene-SnO2 microspheres exhibit uniquely low charge transfer resistances and high Li-ion diffusivities before and after cycling.

Reliability and validity of tongue color analysis in the prediction of symptom patterns in terms of East Asian Medicine

OBJECTIVE:To examine whether color parameters of tongue inspection(TI)using a digital camera was reliable and valid,and to examine which color parameters serve as predictors of symptom patterns in terms of East Asian medicine(EAM).METhoDS:Two hundred female subjects'tongue substances were photographed by a mega-pixel digital *** with the photographs,the subjects were asked to complete Yin deficiency,Phlegm pattern,and Cold-Heat pattern *** three sets of digital imaging software,each digital image was exposure-and white balance-corrected,and finally L*(luminance),a*(red-green balance),and b*(yellow-blue balance)values of the tongues *** examine intra-and inter-rater reliabilities and criterion validity of the color analysis method,three raters were asked to calculate color parameters for 20 digital image ***,four hierarchical regression models were ***:Color parameters showed good or excellent reliability(0.627-0.887 for intra-class correlation coefficients)and significant criterion validity(0.523-0.718 for Spearman's correlation).In the hierarchical regression models,age was a significant predictor of Yin deficiency(β=0.192),and b*value of the tip of the tongue was a determinant predictor of Yin deficiency,Phlegm,and Heat patterns(β=-0.212,-0.172,and-0.163).Luminance(L*)was predictive of Yin deficiency(β=-0.172)and Cold(β=0.173)***:Our results suggest that color analysis of the tongue using the L*a*b*system is reliable and valid,and that color parameters partially serve as symptom pattern predictors in EAM practice.

Lymphovascular invasion in more than one-quarter of small rectal neuroendocrine tumors

AIM To identify the frequency, clinicopathological risk factors, and prognostic significance of lymphovascular invasion(LVI) in endoscopically resected small rectal neuroendocrine tumors(NETs).METhoDS Between June 2005 and December 2015, 104 cases of endoscopically resected small(≤ 1 cm) rectal NET specimens at Hallym University Sacred Heart hospital in Korea were retrospectively evaluated. We compared the detected rate of LVI in small rectal NET specimens by two methods: hematoxylin and eosin(H&E) and ancillary immunohistochemical staining(D2-40 and Elastica van Gieson); in addition, LVI detection ratedifference between endoscopic procedures were also evaluated. Patient characteristics, prognosis and endoscopic resection results were reviewed by medical *** We observed LVI rates of 25.0% and 27.9% through H&E and ancillary immunohistochemical staining. The concordance rate between H&E and ancillary studies was 81.7% for detection of LVI, which showed statistically strong agreement between two methods(κ = 0.531, P hods were studied, including endoscopic submucosal resection with a ligation device and endoscopic submucosal dissection, and no statistically significant difference in the LVI detection rate was detected between the two(26.3% and 26.8%, P = 0.955). LVI was associated with large tumor size(> 5 mm, P = 0.007), tumor grade 2(P = 0.006). Among those factors, tumor grade 2 was the only independent predictive factor for the presence of LVI(HR = 4.195, 95%CI: 1.321-12.692, P = 0.015). No recurrence was observed over 28.8 mo regardless of the presence of *** LVI may be present in a high percentage of small rectal NETs, which may not be associated with short-term prognosis.
