Overexpression of miR-196b and HOXA10 characterize a poor-prognosis gastric cancer subtype

AIM:To identify molecular biologic differences between two gastric adenocarcinoma subgroups presenting different prognoses through the analysis of microRNA and protein ***:Array technologies were used to generate1146 microRNAs and 124 proteins expression profiles of samples from 60 patients with gastric *** the integrative analysis,we used established mRNA expression data published in our previous *** mRNA expression levels were acquired from microarray data for 60 identical gastric cancer *** gastric adenocarcinoma subgroups with distinct mRNA expression profiles presented distinctly different *** and protein expression patterns were compared between gastric cancer tissue and normal gastric tissue and between two different prognostic *** expressed microRNA,associated mRNA,and protein in patients with poor-prognosis gastric cancer were validated by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and immunochemistry in independent ***:We obtained the expression data of 1146microRNAs and 124 cancer-related *** microRNAs were aberrantly expressed in the two prognostic groups and in cancer vs non-cancer tissues(P<0.05).In the poor-prognosis group,miR-196b,miR-135b,and miR-93 were up-regulated and miR-29c*was ***-196b expression positively correlated with Homeobox A10(HOXA10)expression(r=0.726,P<0.001),which was significantly increased in poor-prognosis patients(P<0.001).Comparing gastric cancer with non-cancer tissues,46/124 proteins showed differential expression(P<0.05);COX2(P<0.001)and cyclin B1(P=0.017)were clearly overexpressed in the poor-prognosis ***:Co-activation of miR-196b and HOXA10characterized a poor-prognosis subgroup of patients with gastric *** of the biologic function of miR-196b and HOXA10 is warranted.

AIM:To evaluate diagnostic value ofα-fetoprotein (AFP)-L3 and prothrombin induced by vitamin K absence-Ⅱ(PIVKA-Ⅱ)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Surgical treatment outcomes of primary hepatic sarcomas: A singlecenter experience

Three-dimensional porous graphene-metal oxide composite microspheres： Preparation and application in Li-ion batteries

The use of new three-dimensional （3D） porous graphene-metal oxide composite microspheres as an anode material for Li-ion batteries （LIBs） is first introduced here. 3D graphene microspheres are aggregates of individual hollow graphene nanospheres composed of graphene sheets. Metal oxide nanocrystals are uniformly distributed over the graphene surface of the microspheres. The 3D porous graphene-SnO2 microspheres are selected as the first target material for investigation because of their superior electrochemical properties. The 3D porous graphene-SnO2 and graphene microspheres and bare SnO2 powders deliver discharge capacities of 1,009, 196, and 52 mAh·g^-1, respectively, after 500 cycles at a current density of 2 A·g^-1 .The 3D porous graphene-SnO2 microspheres exhibit uniquely low charge transfer resistances and high Li-ion diffusivities before and after cycling.

Dyna-QUF:Dyna-Q based univector field navigation for autonomous mobile robots in unknown environments

A novel approach was presented to solve the navigation problem of autonomous mobile robots in unknown environments with dense obstacles based on a univector field method. In an obstacle-free environment, a robot is ensured to reach the goal position with the desired posture by following the univector field. Contrariwise, the univector field cannot guarantee that the robot will avoid obstacles in environments. In order to create an intelligent mobile robot being able to perform the obstacle avoidance task while following the univector field, Dyna-Q algorithm is developed to train the robot in learning moving directions to attain a collision-free path for its navigation. Simulations on the computer as well as experiments on the real world prove that the proposed algorithm is efficient for training the robot in reaching the goal position with the desired final orientation.

Forecasting promising technology using analysis of patent information:Focused on next generation mobile communications

In order to forecast promising technologies in the field of next generation mobile communication, various patent indicators were analyzed such as citation per patent, patent family information, patent share, increase rate, and patent activity. These indicators were quantified into several indexes and then integrated into an evaluation score to provide promising technologies. As a result of the suggested patent analysis, four technologies out of twenty two in details classification were selected, which showed outstanding technology competitiveness, high patent share and increasing rates as well as high recent-patent-ratios and triad-patent-family-ratios. Each of the selected technologies scored more than 10 points in total, and the following four technologies were suggested as promising ones in the field of next generation mobile communication: 1) 3GPP based mobile communication, 2) beyond 4G mobile communication, 3) IEEE 802.16 based mobile communication, which are in medium classification of broadband mobile communication system, and 4) testing/certification system of mobile communication, which is in medium classification of mobile communication testing/certification system.

Antioxidant activity and free radical scavenging activities of Streptomyces *** MJM 10778

Objective:To investigate the antioxidant activity of soil-borne ***:The total phenolic contents,the level of antioxidant potential by DPPH radical scavenging activity,MO scavenging activity,and ABTS radical scavenging activity in ethyl acelale extract were ***:The 16 S rDNA sequencing analysis revealed that Streptomyces *** MJM *** was isolated from Hambak ***,has 99.9% similarity to Streptomyces misionensis(***) NBRC *** physiological and the morphological test revealed that the strain MJM 10778 has different characteristics from the strain *** entire antioxidant assay with the ethyl acelale extract displayed good radical scavenging *** IC_(50) values of the strain MJM 10778 extract on DPPH,.*** ABTS radicals were identified to he 92.8 μg/mL,0.02 μg/ml,and 134.9 μg/mL,*** ethyl acetate extract of the strain MJM 10778 showed an 81.500% of cell viability at 100 μg/mL in Raw264.7cell viability ***:The results obtained suggesl that the ethyl acetate extract of Streptomyces *** MJM 10778 could be considered as a potential source of drug for the diseases that is caused by free radicals with its anti-oxidant activities and low cytotoxicity.

Wave prediction in a port using a fully nonlinear Boussinesq wave model

A wave forecasting system using FUNWAVE-TVD which is based on the fully nonlinear Boussinesq equations by Chen(2006)was developed to provide an accurate wave prediction in the Port of Busan,South *** system is linked to the Korea Operational Oceanographic System(KOOS)developed by Park et al.(2015).The computational domain covers a region of 9.6 km×7.0 km with a grid size of 2 m in both directions,which is sufficient to resolve short waves and dominant sea *** total number of grid points exceeds 16 millions,making the model computational *** provide real-time forecasting,an interpolation method,which is based on pre-calculated results of FUNWAVE-TVD and SWAN forecasting results at the FUNWAVE-TVD offshore boundary,was used.A total of 45 cases were pre-calculated,which took 71 days on 924 computational cores of a Linux cluster *** wave generation and propagation from the deep water were computed using the SWAN in *** results provided a boundary condition for the FUNWAVE-TVD forecasting *** verify the model,wave observations were conducted at three locations inside the port in a time period of more than 7 months.A model/model comparison between FUNWAVE-TVD and SWAN was also carried *** is found that,FUNWAVE-TVD improves the forecasting results significantly compared to SWAN which underestimates wave heights in sheltered areas due to incorrect physical mechanism of wave diffraction,as well as large wave heights caused by wave reflections inside the port.
