Flexible sensors based on MXene-polymer composites are highly prospective for next-generation wearable electronics used in human-machine interfaces.One of the motivating factors behind the progress of flexible sensors is the steady arrival of new conductive materials.MXenes,a new family of 2D nanomaterials,have been draw-ing attention since the last decade due to their high electronic conduc-tivity,processability,mechanical robustness and chemical tunability.In this review,we encompass the fabrication of MXene-based polymeric nanocomposites,their structure-property relationship,and applications in the flexible sensor domain.Moreover,our discussion is not only lim-ited to sensor design,their mechanism,and various modes of sensing platform,but also their future perspective and market throughout the world.With our article,we intend to fortify the bond between flexible matrices and MXenes thus promoting the swift advancement of flexible MXene-sensors for wearable technologies.

Study of Effective Electrical Conductivity of Additive Free Electrodes Using a Homogenization Method

Conductive additives are used in the cathode of a Li-ion battery to improve electrical conductivity.However,these additives can negatively impact the ionic conductivity and specific capacity of the battery.Therefore,design of additive-free cathodes is gaining attention in the research community.In this paper,we explore the effective electrical conductivity of randomly generated two-phase conductive-free cathode microstructures using a mathematical homogenization method.Over thousand microstructures with various combinations of particle size,volume fraction and conductivity ratios are considered to evaluate effective electrical conductivity values using this method.An explicit formulation is proposed based on the results to provide a simple method for evaluation of the effective conductivity values.The intrinsic properties of each phase of the microstructure are used to obtain the effective electrical conductivity values.With the microstructure geometry information being utilized for the evaluation of the effective properties,the results obtained from this formulation are expected to be more accurate and reliable than those obtained using the popular Bruggeman’s approximation,providing better estimates of discharge characteristics.Finally,the significance of incorporation of micro-structural information to model cathodes is highlighted by studying the discharge characteristics of Li-ion battery system.

Treat to target in Crohn’s disease:A practical guide for clinicians

A treat-to-target(T2T)approach applies the principles of early intervention and tight disease control to optimise long-term outcomes in Crohn's disease.The Selecting Therapeutic Targets in Inflammatory Bowel Disease(STRIDE)-II guidelines specify short,intermediate,and long-term treatment goals,documenting specific treatment targets to be achieved at each of these timepoints.Scheduled appraisal of Crohn’s disease activity against pre-defined treatment targets at these timepoints remains central to determining whether current therapy should be continued or modified.Consensus treatment targets in Crohn’s disease comprise combination clinical and patient-reported outcome remission,in conjunction with biomarker normalisation and endoscopic healing.Although the STRIDE-II guidelines endorse the pursuit of endoscopic healing,clinicians must consider that this may not always be appropriate,acceptable,or achievable in all patients.This underscores the need to engage patients at the outset in an effort to personalise care and individualise treatment targets.The use of non-invasive biomarkers such as faecal calprotectin in conjunction with cross-sectional imaging techniques,particularly intestinal ultrasound,holds great promise;as do emerging treatment targets such as transmural healing.Two randomised clinical trials,namely,CALM and STARDUST,have evaluated the efficacy of a T2T approach in achieving endoscopic endpoints in patients with Crohn’s disease.Findings from these studies reflect that patient subgroups and Crohn’s disease characteristics likely to benefit most from a T2T approach,remain to be clarified.Moreover,outside of clinical trials,data pertaining to the real-world effectiveness of a T2T approach remains scare,highlighting the need for pragmatic real-world studies.Despite the obvious promise of a T2T approach,a lack of guidance to support its integration into real-world clinical practice has the potential to limit its uptake.This highlights the need to describe strategies,processes,and models of care capable of

Offshore triceratops is one of the successful manifestations of the form-dominant design approaches deployable in ultra-deepwater oil and gas exploration.The deck’s geometric shape and partial isolation from the legs counteract lateral loads.Legs are position-restrained to the sea bed by taut-moored tendons,while ball joints partially isolate the deck from the buoyant legs.However,compliance in the horizontal plane imposes large displacements,intuiting the necessity to examine tendon failure.Numerical analysis of triceratops under wave and wind combined action is carried out under the postulated conditions of a tendon failure.10-yr,100-yr,and 1000-yr post-Katrina hurricane conditions are assumed as loading to the platform.Results confirm a marginal increase in the natural periods of stiff degrees of freedom even under postulated failure conditions,ensuring good adaptability to ultra-deep water.Under postulated failure,the tension of adjacent tendons varies significantly,causing a shift to the mean position of the platform.Fatigue life is significantly reduced under the postulated failure of tendons,making the platform free-floating without affecting its stability.Results also show that the pitch response of the deck is a clear manifestation of the postulated failure,which is otherwise absent due to the presence of ball joints.The attempted study deliberates on the fatigue life of tendons,assessing the platform’s suitability to ultra-deep waters and identifying the vulnerable legs for the chosen load combinations.

Intelligent Energy Utilization Analysis Using IUA-SMD Model Based Optimization Technique for Smart Metering Data

Smart metering has gained considerable attention as a research focus due to its reliability and energy-efficient nature compared to traditional electromechanical metering systems. Existing methods primarily focus on data management,rather than emphasizing efficiency. Accurate prediction of electricity consumption is crucial for enabling intelligent grid operations,including resource planning and demandsupply balancing. Smart metering solutions offer users the benefits of effectively interpreting their energy utilization and optimizing costs. Motivated by this,this paper presents an Intelligent Energy Utilization Analysis using Smart Metering Data(IUA-SMD)model to determine energy consumption patterns. The proposed IUA-SMD model comprises three major processes:data Pre-processing,feature extraction,and classification,with parameter optimization. We employ the extreme learning machine(ELM)based classification approach within the IUA-SMD model to derive optimal energy utilization labels. Additionally,we apply the shell game optimization(SGO)algorithm to enhance the classification efficiency of the ELM by optimizing its parameters. The effectiveness of the IUA-SMD model is evaluated using an extensive dataset of smart metering data,and the results are analyzed in terms of accuracy and mean square error(MSE). The proposed model demonstrates superior performance,achieving a maximum accuracy of65.917% and a minimum MSE of0.096. These results highlight the potential of the IUA-SMD model for enabling efficient energy utilization through intelligent analysis of smart metering data.

Epidemiology of EGFR Mutation in Adenocarcinoma NSCLC Patients in India: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Studies reporting the Indian prevalence of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) mutation are mostly single centers with small sample sizes. This systematic review and meta-analysis summarized the available evidence of EGFR mutation epidemiology in Indian patients with adenocarcinoma (ADC) Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). We conducted a structured literature search in PubMed, and EMBASE databases from January 2004 through October 2019. The primary outcome of interest was prevalence of EGFR mutation by gender, smoking status, and mutation subtype. The review included 34 studies. EGFR mutation prevalence was 39.5% in patients with ADC, and significantly higher in females, non-smokers, and patients with exon 19 deletions. The EGFR mutation frequency in Indian patients with ADC was higher than reported in Caucasians but at a lower range of that reported in East Asians. These findings support the use of EGFR mutation testing to guide choice of treatment.

Optimizing Spatial Pattern Analysis in Serial Remote Sensing Images through Empirical Mode Decomposition and Ant Colony Optimization

Serial remote sensing images offer a valuable means of tracking the evolutionary changes and growth of a specific geographical area over time. Although the original images may provide limited insights， they harbor considerable potential for identifying clusters and patterns. The aggregation of these serial remote sensing images (SRSI) becomes increasingly viable as distinct patterns emerge in diverse scenarios， such as suburbanization， the expansion of native flora， and agricultural activities. In a novel approach， we propose an innovative method for extracting sequential patterns by combining Ant Colony Optimization and Empirical Mode Decomposition. This integration of the newly developed Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) techniques proves remarkably effective in identifying the most significant characteristic features within serial remote sensing images， guided by specific criteria. Our findings highlight a substantial improvement in the efficiency of sequential pattern mining through the application of this unique hybrid method， seamlessly integrating EMD and ACO for feature selection. This study exposes the potential of our innovative methodology， particularly in the realms of urbanization， native vegetation expansion， and agricultural activities.

Strength Characteristics of Treated Soil with Proposed Layer Formation

The engineering characteristics of the soil,soil-fly ash and fly ash-lime,were examined to utilize as base layer material in civil construction.The influence of fly ash percentage and the effect of curing on California bearing ratio(CBR)and unconfined compressive strength(UCS),of soil and soil-fly ash mixing and layered system were examined to estimate the optimum quantity.The volumetric swelling of the optimal mixture was estimated to be within the allowable limits.Scanning microscope analysis and X-ray diffraction tests were performed.A model test analyses with three layers were conducted by finite element method and stress-strain behavior was observed.

Secured Vehicle Life Cycle Tracking Using Blockchain and Smart Contract

Life Cycle Tracking(LCT)involves continuous monitoring and analy-sis of various activities associated with a vehicle.The crucial factor in the LCT is to ensure the validity of gathered data as numerous supply chain phases are involved and the data is assessed by multiple stakeholders.Frauds and swindling activities can be prevented if the history of the vehicles is made available to the interested parties.Blockchain provides a way of enforcing trustworthiness to the supply chain participants and the data associated with the various actions per-formed.Machine learning techniques when combined decentralized nature of blockchains can be used to develop a robust Vehicle LCT model.In the proposed work,Harmonic Optimized Gradient Descent andŁukasiewicz Fuzzy(HOGD-LF)Vehicle Life Cycle Tracking in Cloud Environment is proposed and it involves three stages.First,the Progressive Harmonic Optimized User Registra-tion and Authentication model is designed for computationally efﬁcient registra-tion and authentication.Next,for the authentic user,the Gradient Descent Blockchain-based SVM Data Encryption model is designed with minimum CPU utilization.Finally,Łukasiewicz Fuzzy Smart Contract Veriﬁcation is per-formed with encrypted data to ensure accurate and precise fraudulent activity deduction.The experimental analysis shows that the proposed method achieves signiﬁcant performance in terms of life cycle’s prediction time,overhead,and accuracy for a different number of users.

Most of the medical and nonmedical research labs,all around the world,are racing against time to produce an effective vaccine or an antiviral medicine for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Conventional medicines and novel nano-materials including chemical and herbal-based compounds are all into positive trials toward coronaviruses and other pandemic infections.Among them,natural immune boosters have attracted physicians because of their longevity and reliability for fewer side effects.This is a review article with a detailed picture of an unexplored antiviral source with maximum potency in curing viral infections.Cyanobacteriae have been known for centuries and are rich in secondary metabolites of proteins,biopeptides,and polysaccharides for prominent antiviral action against chest infections.But detailed exploratory research is required to purify,scale-up,and commercialize the pharmacologically active agents from these drug reserves.
