Developmental regulation of neuronal gene expression by Elongator complex protein 1 dosage

Familial dysautonomia(FD), a hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, is caused by a mutation in the Elongator complex protein 1(ELP1) gene that leads to a tissue-specific reduction of ELP1 protein. Our work to generate a phenotypic mouse model for FD headed to the discovery that homozygous deletion of the mouse Elp1 gene leads to embryonic lethality prior to mid-gestation. Given that FD is caused by a reduction, not loss, of ELP1, we generated two new mouse models by introducing different copy numbers of the human FD ELP1 transgene into the Elp1 knockout mouse(Elp1) and observed that human ELP1 expression rescues embryonic development in a dose-dependent manner. We then conducted a comprehensive transcriptome analysis in mouse embryos to identify genes and pathways whose expression correlates with the amount of ELP1. We found that ELP1 is essential for the expression of genes responsible for nervous system development. Further, gene length analysis of the differentially expressed genes showed that the loss of Elp1 mainly impacts the expression of long genes and that by gradually restoring Elongator, their expression is progressively rescued. Finally, through evaluation of co-expression modules, we identified gene sets with unique expression patterns that depended on ELP1 expression.

Effect of recycled brick powder on the properties of selfcompacting fiber reinforced mortars produced with different cement types

It is known that clay-based building materials such as bricks and tiles accumulate in landfills at the end of their useful *** an alternative,recycling clay-based building material can reduce the negative environmental *** brick powder(RBP)is obtained by grinding waste brick and tile collected from end-of-life *** the scope of the study,the use of self-compacting fiber reinforced mortars(SCFRMs)produced with RBP using CEM-I 42.5R and 52.5R class cements for two different cement classes was *** accordance with EFNARC,a water binding ratio of 0.42 was used to control the workability and strength of the *** the produced SCFRM,1%,2%,and 3%by weight binder Polypropylene(PP)fiber was added to the blends with 10%,20%,and 30%RBP substitutes.A total of 32 SCFRM mixes were produced and *** flexural and compressive strengths at 7,28,56,and 90 d were evaluated on the produced *** addition,porosity and water absorbency values were examined since these are significant for durability *** was observed that the use of RBP increases durability,and the use of fiber can have positive effects in terms of both durability and strength.

The （n,f, k）： F（G） system consists ofn components and the system fails （works） if and only if there are at least flailed （working） components or at least k consecutive failed （working） components. These system models can be used in electronic equipment, automatic payment systems in banks, and furnace systems. In this paper we introduce and study the （n, f, k）：F and （n, f, k）： G systems consisting of weighted components. Recursive equations are presented for reliability evaluation of these new models. We also provide some conditions on the weights to represent weighted-（n,f, k） systems as usual （n,f, k） systems.

Theoretical demonstration of the hybrid focusing points of sonic crystal flat lenses and possible applications

We demonstrate the hybrid focusing points of sonic crystals for a multi-source array applied to flat sonic crystal lenses. The contributions of different point source couples form hybrid focusing points. Ray-trace analyses are conducted for acoustic flat lenses with multi-source configurations. The finite-difference time-domain （FDTD） simulation of flat lenses with multi-source configurations demonstrates the establishment of pure and hybrid focusing points in a pyramidal constellation. The number of focusing points in the pyramidal constellation depends on the number of point sources. We propose an acoustic device for fine-tuning the location of a far-field hybrid focusing point and discuss its benefits for acoustic energy focusing application.

On Some New Paranormed Euler Sequence Spaces and Euler Core

In this paper, the sequence spaces e0^τ（u, p） and ec^τ（u, p） of non-absolute type which are the generalization of the Maddox sequence spaces have been introduced and it is proved that the spaces e0^τ（u,p） and ec^τ（u,p） are linearly isomorphic to spaces co（p） and c（p）, respectively. Furthermore, the α-, β- and γ-duals of the spaces 0^τ（u,p） and ec^τ（u,p） have been computed and their bases have been constructed and some topological properties of these spaces have been investigated. Besides this, the class of matrices （e0^τ）（u, p）： μ） has been characterized, where μ is one of the sequence spaces l∞, c and co and derives the other characterizations for the special cases of μ. In the last section, Euler Core of a complex-valued sequence has been introduced, and we prove some inclusion theorems related to this new type of core.

Management of floor heave at Bulga Underground Operations – A case study

This paper presents an overview of the floor heave management at the Glencore Bulga Underground Operations and investigates the contributing factors to the behaviour of the floor. The mine experienced a number of major floor heave events in gateroads on development. As the longwall face approached the roadways, the magnitude of floor heave frequently increased, while new floor heave also ***, severe floor heave events took place along the longwall face. The most observed failure mode was buckling. While regular floor measurements were conducted to better understand the nature of the phenomenon, and various measures were considered to control the deformation of floor, the mining height was increased for the predicted floor heave domains, which facilitated effective management of the floor issues. The experience in the mine indicates that mainly high horizontal stresses with greater depths of cover and certain types of floor lithology configuration are likely to contribute to the failures of floor strata.

Lamina cribrosa thickness in children with hyperopic anisometropic amblyopia

Potential Distribution Modeling and Morphology of Pelias barani(B?hme and Joger, 1983) in Turkey

The climatic preferences of Pelias barani, a rare Pontic endemic viper, are analysed and a new locality record is reported. According to species distribution modeling, with the average test AUC was was 0.904 ± 0.068, bioclimatic variables such as Precipitation of driest month（45.5%）, Temperature seasonality（18.9%）, Precipitation seasonality（17.9%） and Maximum temperature of warmest period（14.7%） appear to have the most useful information on geographic distribution of Pelias barani. Distribution models of Pelias barani under current climatic conditions showed better adaptation to the northwest and northeast part of Turkey.
