Updated Kimura-Takemoto classification of atrophic gastritis

BACKGROUND The Updated Sydney system for visual evaluation of gastric mucosal atrophy viaendoscopic observation is subject to sampling error and interobserver *** Kimura-Takemoto classification system was developed to overcome *** compare the morphological classification of atrophic gastritis between theKimura-Takemoto system and the Updated Sydney *** total of 169 patients with atrophic gastritis were selected according to diagnosisby the visual endoscopic Kimura-Takemoto method. Following the UpdatedKimura-Takemoto classification system, one antrum biopsy and five gastriccorpus biopsies were taken according to the visual stages of the Kimura-Takemoto system. The Updated Kimura-Takemoto classification system was thenapplied to each and showed 165 to have histological mucosal atrophy;theremaining 4 patients had no histological evidence of atrophy in any biopsy. The Updated Kimura-Takemoto classification was verified as a referencemorphological method and applied for the diagnosis of atrophic gastritis. Addingone more biopsy from the antrum to the six biopsies according to the Updated Kimura-Takemoto classification, constitutes the updated combined Kimura-Takemoto classification and Sydney *** sensitivity for degree of mucosal atrophy assessed by the Updated Sydneysystem was 25% for mild, 36% for moderate, and 42% for severe, when comparedwith the Updated Kimura-Takemoto classification of atrophic gastritis formorphological diagnosis. Four types of multifocal atrophic gastritis wereidentified: sequential uniform (type 1;in 28%), sequential non-uniform (type 2;in7%), diffuse uniform (type 3;in 23%), diffuse non-uniform (type 4;in 24%), and"alternating atrophic – non-atrophic" (type 5;in 18%). The pattern of the spread ofatrophy, sequentially from the antrum to the cardiac segment of the stomach,which was described by the Updated Kimura-Takemoto system, washistologically confirmed in 82% of cases ***

In the present work it is found that the pyrotechnic composition VS⁃2 can be initiated with flash lamps IFC⁃500 and ***⁃2 pyrotechnic composition contains 90%of mercury(Ⅱ)5⁃hydrazinotetrazolate perchlorate and 10%of optically trans⁃parent copolymer of 2⁃methyl⁃5⁃vinyltetrazole and methacrylic acid(PVmT).We have found that the flash lamps make it possi⁃ble to initiate combustion of VS⁃2 composition with its transition to detonation both in cylindrical charges placed in brass caps of 5 mm diameter and 2 mm high,and film charges with 10 mm×80 mm in size and surface weights of 60 mg·cm^(-2)and 90 mg·cm^(-2),showing ignition delay times 10μs and 3μs,*** also measured detonation velocities for VS⁃2 composition film charges,which were 4375-4505 m·s^(-1)(of the charge being surface mass 60 mg·cm^(-2))and 4221-4281 m·s^(-1)(of the charge be⁃ing surface mass 90 mg·cm^(-2))and their blasting action on the aluminum *** depths of the normal shock wave imprints at the charge⁃barrier interface were 0.6-0.7 mm(for surface mass of the film charges 60 mg·cm^(-2))and 1.2-1.3 mm(for surface mass of the film charges 90 mg·cm^(-2))

In this paper,we propose a method of cost distribution analysis of new consumer connections to a city power grid by accounting for spatial restrictions and characteristics of existing *** practice,the calculation of connection costs for each new consumer includes the network design and financial *** suggest that connection costs should be calculated for the whole city based on the normative parameters at the stage when the object location is selected by investors and when power grid development is planned by power *** proposed method enables the modeling of new power line connection routes from every parcel of city land to possible points of connection to the operating networks based on the raster design of the *** optimal path is chosen by one criterion consisting of two components:the costs of both laying new power lines and providing sufficient power reserve in the chosen network connection *** as a computer program,the method has been used to calculate the costs of connections to low-voltage power lines.

Phase-matched third-harmonic generation via doubly resonant optical surface modes in 1D photonic crystals

Efficient nonlinear conversion requires that interacting optical waves maintain a consistent phase relationship when traveling in a medium despite its *** phase-matching,which is often used to compensate for the dispersion,is not applicable to optically isotropic nonlinear ***,we present a one-dimensional photonic crystal structure that allows the propagation of optical surface waves,both at the fundamental and third-harmonic frequencies,as an efficient medium for phasematched third-harmonic generation.A unique advantage of this structure is that the effective refractive indices for the surface waves are similar to the refractive index of air at both *** allows phase-matching between the first and third harmonics,and a visible collinear beam of the third harmonic is produced at the prism-coupled ***,these optical surface waves propagate over long distances even if a lossy nonlinear nanofilm is deposited onto the photonic crystal *** provide experimental results for third-harmonic generation at a wavelength of 410 nm for a bare dielectric Ta2O5/SiO2 multilayer structure and for the same structure coated with a 15-nm GaAs film.

Investigation of radio pulsar emission features using power spectra

Since 2013, round-the-clock monitoring of the sky has been carried out simultaneously in 96 beams using a high-sensitivity radio telescope called the Large Phased Array （LPA） at the frequency 110.25 mHz. These observations are made under the program of interplanetary plasma investigation. The same data are used to search for pulsars by means of power spectra. To increase the sensitivity of the pulsar search, 500-600 power spectra corresponding to different days of observations are summed. In the integrated spectra of known pulsars, besides expected improvement in signal-to-noise （S/N） ratio for the frequency harmonics, some features are explored in this paper. We present the 27 strongest pulsars which are in a field with declination 21° - 42°. The observable details in the integrated power spectra are connected with the presence of pulsar periods of the second （P2） and third （P3） class, which have been identified. Empirical relations for calculating these periods are obtained. The value P2 is estimated for 26 pulsars, and for 15 sources it is made for the first time. The value P3 is estimated for 13 pulsars, among them these values are given for five sources for the first time.

Kinetics and mechanism of oxidation for nickel-containing pyrrhotite tailings

X-ray powder diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectroscopy,thermogravimetry,differential scanning calorimetry,and mass spectrometry have been used to study the products of nickel-containing pyrrhotite tailings oxidation by oxygen in the *** kinetic triplets of oxidation,namely,activation energy(E_(a)),pre-exponential factor(A),and reaction model(f(α))being a function of the conversion degree(α),were adjusted by regression *** case of a two-stage process representation,the first step proceeds under autocatalysis control and ends atα=*** kinetic triplet in the first step is E_(a)=262.2 kJ/mol,lg A=14.53 s^(−1),and f(α)=(1-α)^(4.11)(1+1.51×10^(-4)α).For the second step,the process is controlled by the two-dimensional diffusion of the reactants in the layer of oxidation *** kinetic triplet in the second step isЕa=215.0 kJ/mol,lg A=10.28 s^(−1),and f(α)=(-ln(1-α))^(-1).The obtained empirical formulae for the rate of pyrrhotite tailings oxidation reliably describe the macro-mechanism of the process and can be used to design automatization systems for roast-ing these materials.

Analysis of molecular mechanisms that lead to the development of various types of tumors is essential for biology and medicine,because it may help to find new therapeutic opportunities for cancer treatment and cure including personalized treatment *** of the pathways known to be important for the development of neoplastic diseases and pathological processes is the Hedgehog signaling pathway that normally controls human embryonic *** accumulation of various types of biological data,including interactions between proteins,regulation of genes transcription,proteomics,and metabolomics experiments results,allows the application of computational analysis of these big data for identification of key molecular mechanisms of certain diseases and pathologies and promising therapeutic *** aim of this study is to develop a computational approach for revealing associations between human proteins and genes interacting with the Hedgehog pathway components,as well as for identifying their roles in the development of various types of *** automatically collect sets of abstract texts from the NCBI Pubmed bibliographic *** recognition of the Hedgehog pathway proteins and genes and neoplastic diseases we use a dictionary-based named entity recognition approach,while for all other proteins and genes machine learning method is *** association extraction,we develop a set of semantic *** complete the results of the text analysis with the gene set enrichment *** identified key pathways that may influence the Hedgehog pathway and their roles in tumor development are then verified using the information in the literature.

Quantitative evaluation of LAL productivity of colloidal nanomaterials:Which laser pulse width is more productive,ergonomic,and economic?

Near-IR(wavelength≈1μm)laser ablation of bulk,chemically-inert gold in water was compared for different laser pulse width in broad the range of 300 fs–100 ns,comparing a number of key ablation characteristics:mass loss,singleshot crater volume and extinction coefficient of the generated colloidal solutions taken in the spectral ranges of interband transitions and localized plasmon *** to related air-based ablation results,at the given fluences laser ablation in the liquid resulted in the maximum ablation yield per unit energy and maximum NP yield per pulse and per unit energy for the picosecond lasers,occurring at subcritical peak pulse powers for laser *** self-focusing effect was demonstrated to yield in incomplete,effectively weaker focusing in the water filaments of ultrashort laser pulses with supercritical peak powers,comparing to linear(geometrical)focusing at sub-critical peak *** the other,nanosecondpulse extreme the high ablation yield per pulse,but low ablation yield per unit energy and low NP yield per pulse and per unit energy were related to strong ablation plasma screening,providing mass removal according to the well-established scaling relationships for *** comparison of the ablation and nanoparticle generation efficiency versus the broad fs–ns laser pulse width range was enabled in terms of productivity,economicity,and ergonomicity,using the proposed universal quantitative criteria.

Transport Across Chloroplast membranes： Optimizing Photosynthesis for Adverse Environmental Conditions

Chloroplasts are central to solar light harvesting and photosynthesis. Optimal chloroplast functioning is vitally dependent on a very intensive traffic of metabolites and ions between the cytosol and stroma, and should be attuned for adverse environmental conditions. This is achieved by an orchestrated regulation of a variety of transport systems located at chloroplast membranes such as porines, solute channels, ion-specific cation and anion channels, and various primary and secondary active transport systems. In this review we describe the molecular nature and functional properties of the inner and outer envelope and thylakoid membrane channels and transporters. We then discuss how their orchestrated regulation affects thylakoid structure, electron transport and excitation energy transfer, proton-motive force partition, ion homeostasis, stromal pH regulation, andvolume regulation. We link the activity of key cation and anion transport systems with stress-specific signaling processes in chloroplasts, and discuss how these signals interact with the signals generated in other organelles to optimize the cell performance, with a special emphasis on Ca^2＋ and reactive oxygen species signaling.
