INTRODUCTION Anthropogenic activities and associated factors such as climate change and habitat destruction are causing the ongoing sixth mass extinction on Earth,which is a major characteristic of the ***,these factors pose the most serious environmental threat to the existence of civilization because it is *** than 500 species of mammals were found to be on the brink of extinction and likely to be lost within 20 years(Ceballos et al.2020).One example is the common hamster Cricetus cricetus(Linnaeus,1758).In 2020,this species was classified as Critically Endangered across its global range by the IUCN Red List(Banaszek et al.2020).The protection status of the common hamster was elevated by 4 levels at once—from Least Concern to Critically *** the causes behind the dramatic decline of the species are not fully understood,one may suppose it stems from the negative impact of habitat degradation and even climate change(Banaszek et al.2020).

Characterization and Electrochemical Properties of Nanostructured Zr-Doped Anatase TiO_2 Tubes Synthesized by Sol–Gel Template Route

A series of nanostructured Zr-doped anatase TiO_2 tubes with the Zr/Ti molar ratio of 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, and0.09 were prepared by a sol–gel technology on a carbon fiber template. The electrochemical performance of Zr-doped anatase TiO_2 as anodes for rechargeable lithium batteries was investigated and compared with undoped titania. Tests represented that after 35-fold charge/discharge cycling at C/10 the reversible capacity of Zr-doped titania（Zr/Ti = 0.03） reaches 135 m A h g^（-1）, while the capacity of undoped titania（Zr/Ti = 0） yielded only 50 m A h g^（-1）. Based on the results of the physicochemical investigation, three reasons of improving electrochemical performance of Zr-doped titania were suggested. According to the scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, Zr^（4＋） doping induces a decrease in nanoparticle size, which facilitates the Li＋diffusion. The Raman investigations show the more open structure of Zr-doped TiO_2 as compared to undoped titania due to changing of the unit cell parameters, that significantly affects on the reversibility of the insertion/extraction process. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results indicate that substitution of Zr^（4＋） for Ti^（4＋） into anatase TiO_2 has favorable effects on the conductivity.

Copper oxide nanoparticles(CuO-NPs) are among the most widely used metal oxide nanoparticles,which increases the chance of their being released into the marine *** the applications of these particles have increased in recent years,their potential impact on the health of marine biota has also ***,the toxicological effects of these NPs in the marine environment are poorly *** the present study,the DNA damaging potential of CuO-NPs in the marine eastern mussel Mytilus trossulus was evaluated and compared to that of dissolved copper *** was assessed by the single cell gel electrophoresis(comet) assay in mussel gill and digestive gland *** results showed that copper in both forms(CuO-NPs and dissolved copper) was accumulated to different extents in mussel *** mussel exposed to the dissolved copper attained higher concentrations of copper in the gills than in the digestive *** contrast to these results,it was found that CuO-NPs could induce much higher copper accumulation in the digestive gland than in the gills.A clear and statistically significant increase in DNA damage was found in both tissues of the Cu-exposed group compared to the control *** results indicated that the CuO-NP exposure produced remarkable effects and increased DNA damage significantly in mussel gill cells *** should be noted that the digestive gland cells were prone to accumulation following CuO-NPs when compared to the gill cells,while the gill cells were more sensitive to the genotoxic effects of *** results also suggested the need for a complete risk assessment of engineered particles before its arrival in the consumer market.

Geochemistry of Thermal Waters of Continental Margin of Far East of Russia

Studied waters belong to warm （T=30-50℃）, alkaline （pH=8.9-9.3）, low mineralized （TDS〈235 mg/l） Na-HCO3 or Na-SO4-HCO3 thermal waters with high content of SiO2 （up to 81 mg/1） and F （up to 3.9 mg/l）, occur on modern volcano-tectonic rejuvenated areas of Eastern Sikhote-Alin orogenic belt. Low 3He concentration as well as N2/O2 and N2/Ar ratios exclude influence of deep mantle fluid. New rare earth element data constrain our understanding of water-rock interaction occurring in the water source region. Meteoric origin of waters is proved by stable isotope values varying from -71%o to -136.1‰ and from -10.8‰ to -18.8%o for δ^2H and δ^18O respectively. REE patterns reflect high pH, resultfing from water-rock interaction and oxidative conditions. Calculations of deep aquifer temperature using Na-K and quartz geothermometers show 116.8-131.1℃ and 82.2-125.8℃ respectively. Presence of deep faults both with abnormal thermal gradient （-45- 50 K/km） define unique geochemical shape of thermal waters of Sikhote-Alin, area, where no present volcanic activity is registered.

Marine pollution affects all life processes in aquatic organisms. The genotoxic effect of pollution on the mussel Crenomytilus grayanus was assessed. Bivalves were collected from the ‘clean'(vostochnaya Cove) and polluted(Nakhodka Bay) areas in the Peter the Great Bay. The degree of DNA damage in C. grayanus was determined by alkaline comet assay as mean percentage of DNA in tail, and the genetic damage index was calculated. Our results indicate that almost one-third of DNA in cells of gills and digestive gland of C. grayanus inhabiting the Nakhodka Bay had destructive changes compared to the individuals of this species from the vostochnaya Cove. This study has shown that chronic pollution of the aquatic environment causes destructive changes to DNA in gill and digestive gland cells of C. grayanus.

Zr4+and F~– co-doped TiO2with the formula of Ti0.97Zr0.03O1.98F0.02was facilely synthesized by a sol-gel template *** crystal structure,morphology,composition,surface area,and conductivity were characterized by Raman spectroscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray analysis,scanning electron microscopy,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller measurements,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and electrochemical impedance *** results demonstrate that Zr4+and F~–homogeneously incorporated into TiO2,forming solid solution with an anatase ***0.97Zr0.03O1.98F0.02shows outstanding electrochemical properties as Li-ion battery anode in comparison with *** particular,upon 35-fold cycling at 1C-rate Zr4+/F~–co-doped TiO2delivers a reversible capacity of 163 mAh g–1,whereas Zr4+-doped TiO2gives only 34 mA h g–***,Zr4+/F~–co-doped TiO2retains a capacity of 138 mA h g–1during cycling even at 10 *** enhance performance originates from improved conductivity of Zr4+/F~–co-doped TiO2material through generation of Ti3+(serving as electron donors)into the crystal lattice and,possibly,due to F-doping blocked the anode surface from attack of HF formed as electrolyte decomposition product.

Nickel(Ⅱ)complexes with pyrazole-based ligands are widely employed in catalysis of ethylene oligomerization and subsequent Friedel-Crafts alkylation of *** have prepared ten new nickel(Ⅱ)dibromide complexes with various substituted bis(azolyl)*** have been characterized using^(1)H NMR,IR,high resolution mass spectrometry and elemental *** structures of three complexes have been unambiguously established using X-ray *** was found that these complexes in the presence of Et2AlCl or Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)are active both in ethylene oligomerization and Friedel-Crafts alkylation processes(activity up to 3720 kgoligomer·mol[Ni]^(−1)·h^(−1)).The use of Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)results in a higher share of alkylated products(up to 60%).Moreover,catalytic systems activated with Et_(3)Al_(2)Cl_(3)produced small amounts of odd carbon number olefins(up to 0.8%).The Friedel-Crafts alkylation was used as a trap for previously undetected short-chain odd carbon number olefins(C_(3)and C_(5)).

Fundamental problems related to the high-speed combustion are analyzed. The result of plasma-chemical modeling is presented as a motivation of experimental activity. Numerical simulations of the effect of uniform non-equilibrium discharge on the premixed hydrogen and ethylene-air mixture in supersonic flow demonstrate an advantage of such a technique over a heating. Experimental results on multi-electrode non-uniform discharge maintenance behind wallstep and in cavity of supersonic flow are presented. The model test on hydrogen and ethylene ignition is demonstrated at direct fuel injection to low-temperature high-speed airflow.
