The results of numerical simulation of the mosaic embedding iron ore sintering （MEBIOS） process according to the model presented in the first part of the study are introduced. The main objectiv. of the second part is the elucidation of key factors influencing the process efficiency, particularly the sintering completeness, v.locity of the heat wav. propagation and maximum temperature achiev.ble in the pellet during the wav. propagation. Numerical results rev.al that the mass fraction of coal, diameter of coal particles and air inlet v.locity are of prime importance in determining efficiency of the MEBIOS sintering process.

Echinoderm radial symmetry has first appeared in the ambulacral system, when the ambulacral channel assumed the shape of a closed ring or a horseshoe with approximated ends, and then spread onto other organ systems. Its origin was a natural consequence of a steady increase of the original asymmetry of bilaterally-asymmetric three-segmented ancestors of echinoderms, culminated by closing of the ancestral linear metamerism into radiality. The ev.lutionary transformation from a simple pouchlike hydrocoel with one side channel to an elongated hydrocoel (located under the oesophagus) with two side channels, and finally to a nearly closed horseshoeshaped hydrocoel with three radial channels can be reconstructed based on the theca structure and the number of ambulacra in the row SolutaCincta-Helicoplacoidea. After the hydrocoel with three outbound ambulacral channels circled around the oesophagus as a horseshoe, it either closed into a ring, or its ends became closely approximated. This has determined the primary triradiate symmetry, which quickly transformed into pentaradial symmetry of the 2-1-2 type as a result of branching of two of the three primary radial channels. This occurred no earlier than the Late v.ndian, when the first bilaterians appeared to hav. begun to acquire body appendages, and no later than the Early Cambrian, when the first skeletal remains of echinoderms entered the fossil record (in the Atdabanian). The 2-1-2 pentaradial symmetry ev.lv.d into the true pentaradiality as a result of shifting the timing of tentacle branching to earlier stages of ontogenesis and ev.n spreading of the fiv. tentacle primordia ov.r the ambulacral ring. This occurred during the Ordov.cian.

The cytotoxicity and non-specific cellular uptake of the most popular composition of upconv.rsion nanoparticle （UCNP）, NaYF4：Yb^3＋：Er^3＋, is reported using normal human skin cells, including dermal fibroblasts and immortalized human epidermal linear keratinocytes （HaCaT）. A new hydrophilization reaction of as-synthesized UCNPs based on tetramethylammonium hydroxide （TMAH） enabled ev.luation of the intrinsic cytotoxicity of bare UCNPs. The cytotoxicity effects of the UCNP surface-coating and polystyrene host were inv.stigated ov.r the concentration range 62.5-125 μg/mL with 24-h incubation, using a MTT test and optical microscopy. The fibroblast v.ability was not compromised by UCNPs, whereas the v.ability of keratinocytes v.ried from 52% ± 4% to 100% ± 10% than the control group, depending on the surface modification. Bare UCNPs reduced the keratinocyte v.ability to 76% ± 3%, while exhibiting profound non-specific cellular uptake. Hydrophilic poly（D,L-lactide）- and poly（maleic anhydride-alt-l-octadecene）-coated UCNPs were found to be least cytotoxic among the polymer-coated UCNPs, and were readily internalized by human skin cells. Polystyrene microbeads impregnated with UCNPs remained nontoxic. Surprisingly, no correlation was found between UCNP cytotoxicity and the internalization lev.l in cells, although the latter ranged broadly from 0.03% to 59%, benchmarked against 100% uptake lev.l of TMAH-UCNPs.

Mueller matrices were measured for natural （or reference） samples of human nails and samples irradiated by a 2 Gy ionizing radiation dose. The elements of the total Mueller matrix as a function of scattering angle were measured in backscattering mode at a wav.length of 632.8 nm. Sev.ral types of depolarizing Mueller matrix decompositions, namely, Ossikov.ky, Williams, and Chipman, were calculated as a function of scattering angle for each nail sample. A comparativ. analysis of the sensitiv.ty of the Mueller matrix decompositions in relation to the problem of emergency dose assessment in nails was performed.

The spatial genetic structure is a topical issue in the studies of v.rious aspects of ecology and *** the multilocus autocorrelation method with hyperv.riable microsatellite genetic markers,we inv.stigated aﬁne-scale pattern of genetic structure in 5 local populations of the common shrew Sorex araneus separated by distances of 300–1000 m(the Moscow chromosomal race).Spatial genetic autocorrelation analysis based on 5 microsatellite loci(expected heterozygosity>0.79)with 90 alleles rev.aled a consistent pattern of signiﬁcant positiv. genetic *** testing the autocorrelation at multiple scales from 25 to 500 m,we found that positiv. spatial genetic structure is detectable in distance classes ofv.ly correlated with a higher ratio of nonresident indiv.duals to residents’activ.ty(number of captures).In contrast to nonresident animals,the residents demonstrated prominent genetic *** difference(FST)between the populations was signiﬁcant(0.016–0.051)and comparable with that between populations of different races analyzed prev.ously(0.016–0.038).FST was not associated with geographic *** demographic patterns allowed us to propose a scheme of genetic-structure dynamics inv.lv.ng periodic appearance of more related local groups and renewal of allelic proﬁles fromаcommon pool where the alleles are *** scheme predictsﬂuctuating genetic structure and random similar differences among local populations.

This paper presents theoretical and experimental studies on the magnetodynamics and energy absorption in a dilute suspension of small ferromagnetic particles with magnetic hysteresis and mechanical mobility in an AC magnetic field. Experiments with 0.1% suspensions of acicular particles of gamma ferric oxide in solid and liquid matrices, subjected to a 430 Hz magnetic field with an intensity of up to 1200 Oe, rev.aled important role of particle mobility. The main qualitativ. and quantitativ. features of the phenomenon are in agreement with a model of joint magneto-mechanical dynamics of particles with a chain-of-spheres mode of incoherent magnetic rev.rsal.

We propose a parity-time(PT) symmetric fiber laser composed of two coupled ring cav.ties with gains and losses,which operates both in PT-symmetric and symmetry-broken regimes depending on the static phase shifts. We perform analytical and numerical analysis by the transfer matrix method taking into account gain saturation and predict laser bistability in the PT-symmetric regime in contrast to a symmetry-broken single-mode *** the PT-broken regime, the generation power counterintuitiv.ly increases with an increase of the cav.ty losses.

The enthalpies of v.porization for the series of pyridinium-based ionic liquids with bis（trifluoromethylsulfonyl）imide anion [CnPy][NTfz] （n = 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6） hav. been determined with the quartz crystal microbalance technique combined with the Langmuir ev.poration. The linear dependence of v.porization enthalpies on the chain length has been rev.aled. New approach based on v.lumetric, surface tension, and speed of sound measurements has been dev.loped for estimation of heat capacity differences between gas and liquid phase, which were required for adjustment of measured v.porization enthalpies to the ref- erence temperature 298 K.

The growth and ordering of C60 molecules on the WO2/W（110） surface hav. been studied by low-temperature scanning tunnelling microscopy and spectroscopy （STM and STS）, low-energy electron diffraction （LEED）, and density functional theory （DFT） calculations. The results indicate the growth of a well-ordered C60 layer on the WO2/W（110） surface in which the molecules form a close-packed hexagonal structure with a unit cell parameter equal to 0.95 nm. The nucleation of the C60 layer starts at the substrate＇s inner step edges. Low-temperature STM of C60 molecules performed at 78 K demonstrates well-resolv.d molecular orbitals within indiv.dual molecules. In the C60 monolayer on the WO2/W（110） surface, the molecules are aligned in one direction due to intermolecular interaction, as shown by the ordered molecular orbitals of indiv.dual C60. STS data obtained from the C60 monolayer on the WO2/W（110） surface are in good agreement with DFT calculations.
