Analysis of molecular mechanisms that lead to the development of various types of tumors is essential for biology and medicine,because it may help to find new therapeutic opportunities for cancer treatment and cure including personalized treatment approaches.one of the pathways known to be important for the development of neoplastic diseases and pathological processes is the Hedgehog signaling pathway that normally controls human embryonic development.Systematic accumulation of various types of biological data,including interactions between proteins,regulation of genes transcription,proteomics,and metabolomics experiments results,allows the application of computational analysis of these big data for identification of key molecular mechanisms of certain diseases and pathologies and promising therapeutic targets.The aim of this study is to develop a computational approach for revealing associations between human proteins and genes interacting with the Hedgehog pathway components,as well as for identifying their roles in the development of various types of tumors.We automatically collect sets of abstract texts from the NCBI PubMed bibliographic database.For recognition of the Hedgehog pathway proteins and genes and neoplastic diseases we use a dictionary-based named entity recognition approach,while for all other proteins and genes machine learning method is used.For association extraction,we develop a set of semantic rules.We complete the results of the text analysis with the gene set enrichment analysis.The identified key pathways that may influence the Hedgehog pathway and their roles in tumor development are then verified using the information in the literature.

The high entropy alloys(HEAs)are the newly developed high-performance materials that have gained significant importance in defence,nuclear and aerospace sector due to their superior mechanical properties,heat resistance,high temperature strength and corrosion resistance.These alloys are manufactured by the equal mixing or larger proportions of five or more alloying elements.HEAs exhibit superior mechanical performance compared to traditional engineering alloys because of the extensive alloying composition and higher entropy of mixing.Solid state welding(SSW)techniques such as friction stir welding(FSW),rotary friction welding(RFW),diffusion bonding(DB)and explosive welding(EW)have been efficiently deployed for improving the microstructural integrity and mechanical properties of welded HEA joints.The HEA interlayers revealed greater potential in supressing the formation of deleterious intermetallic phases and maximizing the mechanical properties of HEAs joints.The similar and dissimilar joining of HEAs has been manifested to be viable for HEA systems which further expands their industrial applications.Thus,the main objective of this review paper is to present a critical review of current state of research,challenges and opportunities and main directions in SSW of HEAs mainly CoCrFeNiMn and Al_xCoCrFeNi alloys.The state of the art of problems,progress and future outlook in SSW of HEAs are critically reviewed by considering the formation of phases,microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of HEAs joints.

Radiative decays D((s))*→D((s))γare revisited in light of new experimental data from the BaBar and BESⅢCollaborations.The radiative couplings gD*Dγencoding nonperturbative QCD effects are calculated in the framework of the covariant confined quark model developed by us.We compare our results with other theoretical studies and experimental data.The couplings(in GeV-1)|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.45(9)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.72(34)calculated in our model agree with the corresponding experimental data|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.47(7)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.77(16).The most interesting case is the decay Ds*→Dsγ,for which a recent prediction based on light-cone sum rules at next-to-leading order|gDs*Dsγ|=0.60(19)deviates from the first(and only to date)lattice QCD result|gDs*Dsγ|=0.11(2)at nearly3σ.our calculation yields|gDs*Dsγ|=0.29(6),which falls somehow between the two mentioned results,although it is larger than those predicted in other studies using quark models or QCD sum rules.

Gallium is a valuable rare metal which is mainly being used in the production of GaAs. The demand for gallium is increasing but production is limited since gallium is extracted only as a by-product of bauxite processing. on the other hand coal, ironmaking coke and iron ore gangue contain traces of gallium. However little is known about the behaviour of gallium in ironmaking. The aim of the study is to clarify the distribution of gallium between hot metal, slag and top gas by means of laboratory experiments. It was found that Ga2o3 is not stable in blast furnace slags and that gallium is retained in hot metal. Vacuum distillation experiments with hot metal showed that gallium is not transferred to the gas phase. Data on the input and output of gallium at two industrial blast furnaces, as well as chemical analyses of the gallium content of several cokes are presented, too.

Surrogate measures are becoming increasingly used to measure suspended sediment flux,but only few particular computer techniques of data processing are recently developed.This study demonstrates capabilities of acoustic Doppler current profilers(ADCPs)to infer information regarding suspended-sand concentrations in river systems and calculate suspended sediment flux via big data analytics which includes process of analyzing and data mining of measurements based on ADCP signal backscatter intensity data.We present here specific codes done by R language using RStudio software with open-source tidyverse and plotly packages aimed to generate tables containing data of suspended load for cells,verticals and whole cross-section based on backscattering values from 600 kH Teledyne RDInstruments RioGrande WorkHorse ADCP unit,as well perform estimates of morphometric,suspended sediment concentration(SSC)and velocity characteristics of the flow.The developed tools enabled to process large data array consisting of over 56,526,480 geo-referenced values of river depth,streamflow velocity,and backscatter intensity for each river cross-section measured at six case study sites in Russia.

Finance is in our daily life.We invest,borrow,lend,budget,and save money.Finance also provides guidelines for corporation and government spending and revenue collection.Traditional statistical solutions such as regression,PCA,and CFA have been widely used in financial forecasting and analysis.With the increasing interest in artificial intelligence in recent years,this paper reviews the Artificial Intelligence(AI)techniques in the finance domain systematically and attempts to identify the current AI technologies used,major applications,challenges,and trends in Finance.It explores AI-related articles in Finance in IEEE Xplore and EI compendex databases.Findings suggest AI has been engaged in Finance in financial forecasting,financial protection,and financial analysis and decision-making areas.Financial forecasting is one of the main sub-fields of Finance affected by AI technology.The major AI technology used is supervised learning.Deep learning has gained popular in recent years.AI could be used to address some emerging topics.

We study Jackson＇s inequality between the best approximation of a function f∈ L2（R^3） by entire functions of exponential spherical type and its generalized modulus of continuity. We prove Jackson＇s inequality with the exact constant and the optimal argument in the modulus of continuity. In particular, Jackson＇s inequality with the optimal parameters is obtained for classical modulus of continuity of order r and Thue-Morse modulus of continuity of order r∈ N. These results are based on the solution of the generalized Logan problem for entire functions of exponential type. For it we construct a new quadrature formulas for entire functions of exponential type.

BACKGRoUND Colon cancer is one the most common forms of cancer in both sexes.Due to important progress in the field of early detection and effective treatment,colon and rectal cancer survivors currently account for 10%of cancer survivors worldwide.However,the effects of anti-cancer treatments,especially oxaliplatinbased chemotherapy,on the quality of life(QoL)have been less evaluated.Although the incidence of severe chemotherapy-induced neuropathy(CIPN)in clinical studies is below 20%,data from real-world studies is scarce,and CIPN is probably under-reported due to patient selection and the patients’fear that reporting side-effects might lead to treatment cessation.AIM To determine the impact of CIPN on QoL in colorectal cancer patients with a recent history of oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy.METHoDS We performed a prospective cross-sectional study in two major Romanian oncology tertiary hospitals—the Regional Institute of oncology Ia?i(Iasi,Romania)and the Fundeni Clinical oncology Institute(Bucharest,Romania).All consecutive patients with colon or rectal cancer,undergoing oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy that consented to enroll in the study,were assessed by means of two questionnaires—the EoRTC QQ-CR29(quality of life in colon and rectal cancer patients)and the QLQ-CIPN20(assessment of neuropathy).Several demographical,social,clinical and treatment data were also collected.Statistical analysis was performed by means of SPSS v20.The student t test was used to assess the relationship between the QLQ-CIPN20 and QLQ-CR29 results.Kaplan Meyer-curves were used to report 3-year progression-free survival(PFS)in patients that discontinued chemotherapy vs those that completed the recommended course.RESULTS of the 267 patients that fulfilled the inclusion criteria in the pre-specified time frame,101(37.8%)agreed to participate in the clinical study.At the time of the enrolment in the study,over 50%of the patients had recently interrupted their oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy,most often due to neuropathy.Almost 85%of the resp

Adenocarcinomas of the gastrointestinal tract(esophagus,stomach,and colon)represent a heterogeneous group of diseases with distinct etiology,clinical features,treatment approaches,and prognosis.Studies are ongoing to isolate molecular genetic subtypes,perform complete biological characterization of the tumor,determine prognostic groups,and find predictive markers to the effectiveness of therapy.Separate molecular genetic classifications were created for esophageal adenocarcinoma[The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)],stomach cancer(TCGA,Asian Cancer Research Group),and colon cancer(Colorectal Cancer Subtyping Consortium).In 2018,isolation of TCGA molecular genetic subtypes for adenocarcinomas of the gastrointestinal tract(esophagus,stomach,and colon)highlighted the need for further studies and clinical validation of subtyping of gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas.However,this approach has limitations.The aim of our work was to critically analyze integration of molecular genetic subtyping of gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas in clinical practice.
