Despite the advances in combinatorial or synthetic chemis- try and bioinformatics, recent literature has demonstrated the relevance of nature and biomass as a source of new molecules to treat different pathologies, i.e., bioactive com- pounds obtained from ecteinascidia turbinate to treat some types of cancer or rapamycin from Streptomyces hygroscop- icus to prevent organ rejection after transplant. This trend will continue simply due to the fact that Mother Nature has been synthesizing molecules for millions of years. Factor analysis identifies subgroups of constipation

AIM:To determine whether distinct symptom groupings exist in a constipated population and whether such grouping might correlate with quantifiable pathophysiological measures of colonic ***:one hundred and ninety-one patients presenting to a Gastroenterology clinic with constipation and 32 constipated patients responding to a newspaper advertisement completed a 53-item,wide-ranging selfreport *** hundred of these patients had colonic transit measured *** analysis determined whether constipation-related symptoms grouped into distinct aspects of *** analysis was used to determine whether indi-vidual patients naturally group into distinct ***:Cluster analysis yielded a 4 cluster solution with the presence or absence of pain and laxative unresponsiveness providing the main *** all clusters there was a considerable proportion of patients with demonstrable delayed colon transit,irritable bowel syndrome positive criteria and regular stool *** majority of patients with these characteristics also reported regular laxative ***:Factor analysis identified four constipation subgroups,based on severity and laxative unresponsiveness,in a constipated ***,clear stratification into clinically identifiable groups remains imprecise.

The reinforcing impact of Lignocellulosic micro and nanofibrillated cellulose(L-MNFCs)obtained from eucalyp-tus Globulus bark in Urea-Formaldehyde UF adhesive was tested.L-MNFCs were prepared by an environmentally friendly,low-cost process using a combination process involving steam explosion followed by refining and ultra-fine *** L-MNFCs showed a web-like morphology with some aggregates and lignin *** present a mixture of residual fibers and fine elements with a width varying between 5 nm to 20μm,*** effects of the addition of low amounts of L-MNFCs(1%wt.)on the properties of three different adhe-sives(Urea-Formaldehyde UF,Phenol-Formaldehyde PF,and Tannin-Hexamine TH)were studied by the evolution of the pH,the viscosity,and the mechanical *** showed that the viscosity of PF and UF adhesives increased with the addition of L-MNFCs,unlike ***,the addition led to better mechan-ical behavior for the three *** were then prepared using modified UF with L-MNFCs and *** showed that an amount of 1%*** L-MNFCs was sufficient to increase the internal bonding by≈67%,the modulus of elasticity by≈43%,and the modulus of rupture by≈29%.
