VQT:value cardinality and query pattern based R-schema to XML schema translation with implicit referential integrity

In this paper,we propose a new relational schema (R-schema) to XML schema translation algorithm, VQT, which analyzes the value cardinality and user query patterns and extracts the implicit referential integrities by using the cardinality property of foreign key constraints between columns and the equi-join characteristic in user queries. The VQT algorithm can apply the extracted implied referential integrity relation information to the R-schema and create an XML schema as the final result. Therefore, the VQT algorithm prevents the R-schema from being incorrectly converted into the XML schema, and it richly and powerfully represents all the information in the R-schema by creating an XML schema as the translation result on behalf of the XML DTD.

Use of ultraporous nylon membrane is one of the most widely employed techniques for removal of hard and soft nanoparticles in the semiconductor industry, and the accurate determination of membrane pore size is necessary in order to avoid manufacturing defects caused by contamination. The gold nanoparticle has several benefits for the evaluation of polymeric membranes; however, the nanoparticles agglomerate easily on the nylon membrane and make it difficult to evaluate the membrane precisely. The properties of 2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol(ADP) ligand in gold nanoparticle solution were systematically investigated, and ADP was utilized for improved evaluation of the nylon membranes. Nylon membrane used in this study was prepared by phase inversion techniques. Ultrathin dense layer on top of the membrane surface and Darcy structures in the microporous membrane support were observed. The gold particle rejection was carried out at various p H values from 4 to14 and higher rejection was observed at p H 4 and 8. The suppression of gold colloid agglomeration using ADP and monodispersity of gold colloids was also analyzed by confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). van der Waals interaction energy of the particles was reduced in the addition of ADP. The presence of ADP ligand in the gold solutions prevented the agglomeration of gold nanoparticles and reduced the adsorption of the particles on the nylon membrane surface,leading to precise evaluation of membrane pore sizes.

Power generation by reverse electrodialysis in ion-selective nanochannels is numerically investigated. Especially,in the present study, the influence of hydrodynamic slip at the surface of nanochannels is investigated. The current-potential characteristics of the nanochannels are calculated by solving several governing equations:Nernst-Planck equation for the ionic concentrations, the Poisson equation for the electric potential, and the Navier-Stokes equation for the diffusioosmotic flow. Hydrodynamic slip is applied as the boundary condition at the surface of nanochannels. As the slip length increases, the diffusioosmotic flow velocity and electrical conductance of ions increase because the friction at the surface of nanochannels decreases. It is shown that the power generation is enhanced by 44% with a moderate 100nm slip length by using a nanochannel with 10nm height.

Fogs observed over Incheon international airport （IIA） in the west coast of Korea from January 2002 to August 2006 are classified into categories of coastal fog, cold sea fog, and warm sea fog based on the areal extent of the fogs and the difference between the air temperature （T ） and the SST, i.e., cold sea fog if TSST = T -SST 〉 0~0C and warm sea fog if TSST 〈 0~0C. The numbers of coastal, cold, and warm sea fog cases are 64, 26, and 9. Coastal fogs form most frequently in winter, while cold sea fogs occur mostly in summer and warm sea fogs are observed from January to May but not in November and December. On average the air gets colder by 1.6~0C during the three hours leading up to the coastal fog formation, and an additional cooling of 1.1~0C occurs during the fog. The change in the dew point temperature （T_d） is minimal except during the fog （0.6~0C）. Decreases in T for the cold and warm sea fogs are relatively smaller. The average Td is higher than SST during the cold sea fog periods but this T_d is more than 4~0C higher than that for the corresponding non-fog days, suggesting that cold sea fogs be formed by the cooling of already humid air （i.e., T_d〉SST）. Increases of T_d are significant during the warm sea fog periods （1.4~0C）, implying that effcient moisture supply is essential to warm sea fog formation. Four major synoptic patterns are identified in association with the observed fogs. The most frequent is a north Pacific high that accounts for 38% of cases. Surface or upper inversions are present in 77%, 69%, and 81% of the fog periods for coastal, cold, and warm sea fogs, respectively.

In this paper, the problem of stability analysis for neural networks with time-varying delays is considered. By constructing a new augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii＇s functional and some novel analysis techniques, improved delaydependent criteria for checking the stability of the neural networks are established. The proposed criteria are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs） which can be easily solved and checked by various convex optimization algorithms. Two numerical examples are included to show the superiority of our results.

Objective:The effectiveness of adjuvant treatments for resected gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)has remained unclear due to lack of randomized controlled trials;thus,the aim of present study was to evaluate the role of adjuvant treatments,including chemoradiotherapy(CRT)and/or chemotherapy(CTx),in patients with resected ***:A total of 733 GBC patients who received curative-intent surgical resection were identified in a multi-institutional *** 733 patients,372(50.8%)did not receive adjuvant treatment,whereas 215(29.3%)and 146(19.9%)received adjuvant CTx and CRT,*** locoregional recurrence-free survival(LRFS),recurrence-free survival(RFS),and overall survival(OS)of the adjuvant treatment groups were compared according to tumor stage(stage II *** III–IV).Results:In stage II disease(n=381),the 5-year LRFS,RFS,and OS were not significantly different among the no-adjuvant therapy,CTx,and CRT groups,and positive resection margin,presence of perineural invasion,and Nx classification were consistently associated with worse LRFS,RFS,and OS in the multivariate analysis(P<0.05).For stage III–IV(n=352),the CRT group had significantly higher 5-year LRFS,RFS,and OS than the no-adjuvant therapy and CTx groups(67.8%,45.2%,and 56.9%;37.9%,28.8%,and 35.4%;and 45.0%,30.0%,and 45.7%,respectively)(P<0.05).Conclusions:CRT has value as adjuvant treatment for resected GBC with stage III–IV *** study is needed for stage II disease with high-risk features.

Let M be a positive quaternionic Kahler manifold of dimension 4m. We already showed that if the symmetry rank is greater than or equal to [m/2] ＋ 2 and the fourth Betti number b4 is equal to one, then M is isometric to HPm. The goal of this paper is to report that we can improve the lower bound of the symmetry rank by one for higher even-dimensional positive quaternionic Kahler manifolds. Namely, it is shown in this paper that if the symmetry rank of M with b4（M） = 1 is greater than or equal to m/2 ＋ 1 for m ≥ 10, then M is isometric to HPm. One of the main strategies of this paper is to apply a more delicate argument of Frankel type to positive quaternionic Kahler manifolds with certain symmetry rank.
