AIM: To assess the efficacy and safety of weekly docetaxel plus a fixed-dose rate(FDR) of gemcitabine in metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(SCC).METHODS: A multi-center, open-label, prospective phase Ⅱ study was ***-three esophageal SCC patients with documented progression after fluoropyrimidine/platinum-based first-line chemotherapy were enrolled and treated with docetaxel 35 mg/m2 and gemcitabine 1000 mg/m2 iv at a FDR(10 mg/m2 per minute) on days 1 and *** was repeatedevery twenty-one days until disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, or consent *** primary endpoint was response rate(RR), and secondary endpoints were safety, progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS).RESULTS: Combination of weekly docetaxel and FDR gemcitabine was well tolerated: the most common treatment-related adverse events were anemia(97%), fatigue(64%) and neutropenia(55%).One patient with multiple lung and lymph node metastases died of respiratory failure after receiving four cycles of chemotherapy, and the possibility of drug-induced pneumonitis could not be completely *** control(objective response plus stable disease) in the ITT population was achieved in 88% of patients, and the overall RR was 30%(95%CI: 15%-46%).The median PFS and OS were 4.0(95%CI: 3.4-4.6) and 8.8 mo(95%CI: 7.8-9.8 mo), ***: A combination of weekly docetaxel and FDR gemcitabine showed promising antitumor activity and tolerability in previously treated, metastatic esophageal SCC.

AIM: To evaluate the long-term efficacy adefovir(ADV)-based combination therapies in entecavir(ETV)-resistant chronic hepatitis B(CHB) patients. METHODS: F i fty CHB pat ient s wi t h genotypic resistance to ETV at 13 medical centers in South Korea were included for the analysis. All the patients received rescue therapy with the combination of ADV plus ETV(ADV/ETV,n = 23) or ADV plus lamivudine(LMV)(ADV/LMV,n = 27) for more than 12 mo. Patients were monitored at least every 3-4 mo during ADV-based combination therapy by clinical examination as well as biochemical and virological assessments. Hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA levels were measured by realtime PCR and logarithmically transformed for analysis. Cumulative rates of virologic response(VR; HBV DNA hazards models were used to identify independent risk factors significantly associated with short-term and long-term VR,***: Baseline median HBV DNA levels were 5.53(2.81-7.63) log10 IU/m L. The most commonly observed ETV genotypic mutation sites were rt184 and rt202. Patients were treated for a median of 27(12-45) mo. Overall,cumulative VR rates at 6,12,24,and 36 mo were 26%,36%,45%,and 68%,respectively. Patients treated with the ADV/ETV combination showed higher cumulative VR rates(35%,43%,65%,and 76%,respectively) than those with the ADV/LAM combination(18%,30%,30%,and 62%,respectively; P = 0.048). In the multivariate analysis,low baseline HBV DNA levels(< 5.2 log10 IU/m L) and initial virologic response at 3 mo(IVR-3; HBV DNA < 3.3 log10 IU/m L after 3 mo) were independent predictive factors for VR. Patients with favorable predictors achieved cumulative VR rates up to 90% at 36 mo. This study was carried out to understand the long-term effect of organic waste treatment on the fate of heavy metals originated from the organic wastes, together with examination of changes in soil properties. For this, the soils received three different organic wastes (municipal sewage sludge, alcohol fermentation processing sludge, pig manure compost) in three different rates (12.5, 25, 50 ton/ha/yr) for 7 years (1994 - 2000) were used. To see the long-term effect, plant growth study and soil examination were conducted twice in 2000 and 2010, respectively. There was no additional treatment of organic wastes for post ten years after ceasing organic waste treatment for seven years. Soil examination conducted in 2010 showed decreases in soil pH, EC, total nitrogen, organic matter, available phosphorus, exchangeable cations and heavy metal contents in all soils received organic wastes compared to the results obtained in 2000. Speciation of heavy metals in soil through sequential extraction showed that organically bound Cu was the dominant species in all treatment and exchangeable Cu was increased in the plots treated with municipal sewage sludge and alcohol fermentation processing sludge. organically bound Ni increased from 25% - 30% to 32% - 45% in 2010 inall treatment while Pb showed increase in carbonate form in all treatments. Zn existed mainly as sulfide and residual forms, showing increases in organically bound form in all treatment during post ten years.

研究目的：本次研究旨在比较加工方法及组成不同的双磷酸钙（biphasic calcium phosphates,BCP）的骨引导的能力和骨愈合的模式。材料和方法：10只雄性新西兰白兔，每只兔子颅顶有4个8mm环形缺损．每个缺损代表一个组别：对照组．实验组：BCP1．70％ha（羟基磷灰石）．30％β-TCP（β-三磷酸钙）：BCP2，30％ha，70％p-TCP；BCP3，20％ha．80％D-TCP。兔子在第2周（n=5）或第8周（n=5）在处死后进行组织学及组织计量学分析。结果：在双磷酸钙（BCP）组的骨增量远大于对照组（P〈005）。第2周或第8周新骨形成量无明显差异。在第2周，BCP3组的双磷酸钙的吸收作用远大于BCP1和BCP2组．然而在第8周．BCP2和BCP3的这种差别变得不明显。BCP组问新骨形成的模式和材料的吸收有明显差异。在BCP1组中．新骨在剩余颗粒中呈线性排列，在BCP2组中，可观察到丝状伪足状新骨形成;在BCP3组中．可见分散在剩余颗粒中的胶原蛋白片段及颗粒表面的裂隙状不规则新骨形成。结论：在本研究中．特定的ha、β-TCP比例对新骨形成和空间的保持无明显影响。而组间观察到的骨愈合模式的差别可归因于加工方法不同所导致的双磷酸钙（BCPs）的物理化学属性的差异。
