Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the predominant impairment of neurons in the hippocampus and the formation of amyloid plaques,hyperphosphorylated tau protein,and neurofibrillary tangles in the *** overexpression of amyloid-βprecursor protein(APP)in an AD brain results in the binding of APP intracellular domain(AICD)to Fe65 protein via the C-terminal Fe65-PTB2 interaction,which then triggers the secretion of amyloid-βand the consequent pathogenesis of ***,targeting the interaction between APP and Fe65 can offer a promising therapeutic approach for ***,exosome,a type of extracellular vesicle with diameter around 30–200 nm,has gained much attention as a potential delivery tool for brain diseases,including AD,due to their ability to cross the blood–brain barrier,their efficient uptake by autologous cells,and their ability to be surface-modified with target-specific receptor ***,the engineering of hippocampus neuron cell-derived exosomes to overexpress Fe65,enabled the development of a novel exosome-based targeted drug delivery system,which carried Corynoxine-B(Cory-B,an autophagy inducer)to the APP overexpressed-neuron cells in the brain of AD *** Fe65-engineered HT22 hippocampus neuron cell-derived exosomes(Fe65-EXO)loaded with Cory-B(Fe65-EXO-Cory-B)hijacked the signaling and blocked the natural interaction between Fe65 and APP,enabling APP-targeted delivery of ***,Fe65-EXO-Cory-B induced autophagy in APP-expressing neuronal cells,leading to amelioration of the cognitive decline and pathogenesis in AD mice,demonstrating the potential of Fe65-EXO-Cory-B as an effective therapeutic intervention for AD.

Influence of Shallow and Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Tribological Behavior of En 19 Steel

The influence of cryogenic treatment on the wear resistance of En 19 steel was studied. Furthermore, a comparative analysis on the effect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment （DCT, 196℃× 24 h）, Shallow Cryogenic Treatment （SCT -80℃ × 5 h） and Conventional Heat Treatment （CHT） was done through dry sliding wear testing. The microstructures of CHT, SCT and DCT samples were also examined through scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated that the wear resistance of shallow and deep cryogenically treated samples is higher when compared to that of conventionally treated samples. X-ray diffraction pattern revealed that the transformation of retained austenite into martensite is responsible for the wear resistance improvement.

An Efficient Approach for Simulation of Water Levels due to the Nonlinear Interaction of Tide and Surge Along the Coast of Bangladesh

The ultimate goal and highlight of this paper are to explore water levels along the coast of Bangladesh efficiently due to the nonlinear interaction of tide and surge by employing the method of lines(MOLs)with the aid of newly proposed RKAHeM(4,4)*** this regard,the spatial derivatives of shallow water equations(SWEs)were discretized by means of a finite difference method to obtain a system of ordinary differential equations(ODEs)of initial valued with time as an independent *** obtained system of ODEs was solved by the RKAHeM(4,4)***-way nested grid technique was exercised to incorporate coastal complexities closely with minimum computational cost.A stable tidal oscillation was produced over the region of interest by applying the most influential tidal constituent M2 along the southern open boundary of the outer *** newly developed model was applied to estimate water levels due to the non-linear interaction of tide and surge associated with the catastrophic cyclone April 1991 along the coast of *** approach employed in the study was found to perform well and ensure conformity with real-time observations.

Steric Effect of Alkyl Substituted Piperidin-4-one Oximes for Corrosion Control of Mild Steel in H_2SO_4 Medium

Three synthesized piperidin-4-one oximes,3-ethyl-2,6-diphenyl-piperidin-4-one oxime(A),1-methyl-3-isopropyl-2,6-diphenyl-piperidin-4-one oxime(B),and 3-isopropyl-2,6-diphenyl-piperidin-4-one oxime(C),were tested at different concentrations to determine their ability to inhibit corrosion of mild steel in 1 mol.L-1 H2SO4 and measured by a mass loss method(at various temperatures),polarization and impedance measurements,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),and a quantum chemical *** synergistic influence of compounds A,B and C with iodides has also been *** three compounds show good inhibition efficiency in the following order:A>B>*** A,B and C were found to physically adsorb on the surface of mild steel while obeying the Temkin *** measurements indicated that these compounds behave as a mixed mode *** and SEM with EDS studies revealed the formation of a protective barrier on the mild steel surface by these *** electron donating ability of the studied molecules was tested using semi empirical *** studies revealed that the oxime nitrogen,the piperidine moiety,and the phenyl ring assist largely in corrosion *** studies also showed that the steric crowding by the alkyl group in the piperidine ring affects the inhibitor ***,it is interesting to note that all of the studied compounds exhibit synergism with iodide ions.

Throughput Analysis of IEEE 802.11 Multirate WLANs with Collision Aware Rate Adaptation Algorithm

This paper presents a mathematical model that analyzes the throughput of the IEEE 802.11b distributed coordination function （DCF） with the collision aware rate adaptation （CARA） algorithm. IEEE 802.11 WLANs provide multiple transmission rates to improve system throughput by adapting the transmission rate to the current channel conditions. The system throughput is determined by some stations using low transmission rates due to bad channel conditions. CARA algorithm does not disturb the existing IEEE 802.11b formats and it can be easily incorporated into the commercial wireless local area networks （WLAN） devices. Finally, we verify our findings with simulation.

Nonsaturation Throughput Enhancement of IEEE 802.11b Distributed Coordination Function for Heterogeneous Traffic under Noisy Environment

In this paper, we propose a mechanism named modified backoff （MB） mechanism to decrease the channel idle time in IEEE 802.11 distributed coordination function （DCF）. In the noisy channel, when signal-to-noise ratio （SNR） is low, applying this mechanism in DCF greatly improves the throughput and lowers the channel idle time. This paper presents an analytical model for the performance study of IEEE 802.11 MB-DCF for nonsaturated heterogeneous traffic in the presence of transmission errors. First, we introduce the MB-DCF and compare its performance to IEEE 802.11 DCF with binary exponential backoff （BEB）. The IEEE 802.11 DCF with BEB mechanism suffers from more channel idle time under low SNR. The MB-DCF ensures high throughput and low packet delay by reducing the channel idle time under the low traffic in the network. However, to the best of the authors＇ knowledge, there are no previous works that enhance the performance of the DCF under imperfect wireless channel. We show through analysis that the proposed mechanism greatly outperforms the original IEEE 802.11 DCF in the imperfect channel condition. The effectiveness of physical and link layer parameters on throughput performance is explored. We also present a throughput investigation of the heterogeneous traffic for different radio conditions.

The main aim of this work is to design a suitable Fractional Order Proportionl Integral Derivative(FOPID)controller with Chaotic Whale Optimization Algorithm(CWOA)for a RO desalination *** research on Reverse Osmosis(RO)desalination plants is a promising technique for satisfaction with sustainable and efficient RO *** work implements CWOA based FOPID for the simulation of reverse osmosis(RO)desalination process for both servo and regulatory *** modeling is a vital constituent of designing advanced and developed engineering processes,which helps to gain a deep study of processes to predict the performance,more *** approaches have been employed for mathematical models based on mass and heat transfer and concentration of permeable flow *** of FOPID controllers is broadly used to improve the dynamic response of the system,at the same time,to reduce undershoot or overshoot,steady state error and hence improve the *** performances of the FOPID controller with optimization is compared in terms of measures such as Integral Time Absolute Error(ITAE)and Integral Square Error(ISE).Simulation results with FOPID on desalination process achieved rise time of 0.0311 s,settling time of 0.0489 s and 0.7358%overshoot,better than the existing techniques available in the literatures.

Delay-dependent Robust Stabilization and H_∞ Control for Uncertain Stochastic T-S Fuzzy Systems with Discrete Interval and Distributed Time-varying Delays

In this paper, delay-dependent robust stabilization and H∞ control for uncertain stochastic Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy systems with discrete interval and distributed time-varying delays are discussed. The purpose of the robust stochastic stabilization problem is to design a memoryless state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system is mean-square asymptotically stable for all admissible uncertainties. In the robust H∞ control problem, in addition to the mean-square asymptotic stability requirement, a prescribed H∞ performance is required to be achieved. Sufficient conditions for the solvability of these problems are proposed in terms of a set of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs） and solving these LMIs, a desired controller can be obtained. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness of our results over the existing ones.
