Taoism refers to an indigenous Chinese philosophical and religious tradition. For more than two and a half millennia, it has had a profound social and intellectual influence on Eastern Asia and since the 19 th century has deeply influenced Western countries. Dao De Jing(《道德经》Tao Te Jing) is still considered to be the primary text of Taoism. The Tao Te Jing is attributed to Laozi, the classical Chinese Philosopher, and describes the major doctrines of Taoism. It is most relevant to Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). This article offers a brief introduction to the Taoism within TCM – the relation between Huang Di Nei Jing(《黄帝内经》The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic) and Dao De Jing(《道德经》Tao Te Jing).

AIM:To use existing hepatitis C virus(HCV)antiviral therapies as access to new treatments is ***:A Pub Med search for randomised control trials or meta-analysis related to response-guided therapy of HCV genotype 1 patients was undertaken using pegylated interferon and ribavirin(PR),boceprevir(B)and telaprevir(T)and lead-in where responseguided therapy at TW4(TW4),8(TW8),10(TW10),or12(TW12)based on HCVRNA(+)or HCVRNA(-).Studies presented at major conferences were also *** necessary,a post-hoc analysis was performed.A response-guided management roadmap was created based on sustained virological response(SVR).RESULTS:Starting with PR,those with HCVRNA(-)at TW4 have>86%SVR,while those are HCVRNA(+)have 34%-41.7%***(-)TW4 patients can have 24 wk PR if HCVRNA80%SVR,leading to the"80-80"***:Using a roadmap based on HCVRNA(-)at TW4 or TW8(the"80-80"rule),high SVR can be achieved,and guide the best choices for treatment,and also reduces drug exposure in poor responders.

A theoretical analysis of velocity profiles in sediment-laden flows is presented by means of Prandtl-Karman mixing length theorem. The study shows that the upward velocity of liquid-phase caused by settling sediment leads to the invalidity of the log-law and Rouse equation. The theoretical analysis takes into account the upward velocity and shows: 1) the mean velocity in sediment-laden flows follows the log-law, but the Karman constant reduces in the main flow region, 2) sediment concentration reduces the mixing length of fluid particles, 3) flow resistance reduces with the presence of sediment concentration, and 4) the sediment concentration profile deviates from the well know Rouse equation. The experimental data agree well with the equations derived on the basis of non-zero wall velocity. It is found that the wall-normal velocity should not be neglected for density gradient flows because it induces more than for pure water flows.

The trade—off between protection and weight is a constant consideration when designing a portable protective *** mobility is a desirable attribute and protection must therefore adapt,prompting a demand for lightweight,simple to construct,low-cost and effective ballistic protection *** strength and ductility,wave spreading capability and good energy absorption are key properties for ballistic *** materials,polycarbonate,Kevlar?-epoxy,polyurethane foam,and aluminium alloy,possess these properties and were selected for analysis by numerical *** configurations were proven to be an optimal solution,by exploiting the advantages of each material without having large penalties of mass and *** modelling using ANSYS AUTODYN?is used to simulate monolithic and multi-layered target configurations,to obtain the penetration mitigation *** results are analysed to select configurations based on different requirements,such as lowest cost,lowest mass,best performance,and optimal configuration which balanced the three key parameters *** optimal configuration of Aluminium,Kevlar-Epoxy,Polyurethane,and Polycarbonate has layers with thickness of 7,3,38,2 mm respectively with a total mass of 7.97 kg,total cost of$39.86 and penetration of 29.34%(14.67 mm).Polynomial relationships between performance and mass/cost are also determined.

In recent years, utilization of renewable sources for biofuel production is gaining popularity due to growing greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions which causes global warming. There has been a great effort in exploring alternative feedstock for bioethanol production. In this context, the production of third-generation bioethanol from macroalgae has emerged as an alternative feedstock to food crop-based starch and lignocellulosic *** is mainly due to the fast growth rate of macroalgae, no competition with agricultural land, high carbohydrate content and relatively simple processing steps compared to lignocellulosic biomass. This review paper provides an insight of recent innovative approaches for macroalgae bioethanol production, including conventional and advanced hydrolysis process to produce fermentable sugar, various fermentation technologies, economic analysis and life cycle assessment. With the current technology maturity, efficient utilization of macroalgae as sustainable source for bioethanol and other value-added chemicals production could be achieved in the near future.

The effects of tube bank configuration on forces and heat transfer were investigated for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional gas fluidized beds. Effective dynamic forces and heat transfer coefficients were measured for several tube bank configurations, and it was found that the average forces are smaller than for a single tube. The heat transfer coefficient can be increased by providing sufficient space for particles to descend around both sides of the tube bank. The results provide useful guidelines for optimizing the configuration of tube banks to achieve high heat transfer coefficients while reducing tube erosion due to dynamic forces.

This paper outlines the barriers and potential benefits of using standby diesel generators in mitigating the peak demands for commercial and industrial customers. The feasibility of utilizing the standby diesel generators to reduce the electricity bills for customers is carried out by using the hybrid optimization model for electric renewable(HOMER)software. The size of the standby diesel generator and its operational duration are determined based on the lowest cost of electricity obtained from the evaluations. The economic assessments demonstrate that there is potential to reduce the electricity bills for commercial and industrial customers under the existing fuel price and tariffs. The commercial customers under the tariff C2 have the highest potential to save their electricity bills with the use of standby diesel generators for peak reduction. This study demonstrates the potential of the standby diesel generators in peak reduction.

The formation of K-carrageenan droplets in channel emulsification was experimentally investigated. The dispersed phase was vertically injected into co-flowing immiscible palm oil in the direction of gravity. This study focused on predicting K-carrageenan drop size using force balance analysis. The force balance model considers the interracial tension to be the solitary attaching force, while a combination of the drag force from the co-flowing palm oil and the body force of the extruding K-carrageenan liquid act as the detaching forces. The conventional model gave poor predictions for droplet size, with an average relative deviation of 23%. This large deviation could be attributed to necking phenomena and an underestimation of the drag force generated on the shear-thinning K-carrageenan solution. By incorporating correction factors, the average relative deviation of the force balance model dronned to 4%.

This paper reports a simple yet efficient method for the synthesis of hierarchical TiO2-B nanowire@α-Fe2O3 nanothorn core-branch arrays based on a stepwise hydrothermal approach. The as-fabricated hybrid arrays show impressive performance as a high-capacity anode for lithium-ion batteries. The key design in this study is a core-branch hybrid architecture, which not only provides large surface active sites for lithium ion insertion/extraction, but also enables fast charge transport owing to the reduced diffusion paths for both electrons and lithium ions. The peculiar combination of attributes of TiO2 （good structural stability） and Fe2O3 （large specific capacity） provides the hybrid array electrodes with several desirable electrochemical features： large reversible capacity （-800 mA.h.g^-1 for specific mass capacity and -750 μA.h-cm^-2 for specific areal＂ capacity）, good cycling stability, and high rate capability. The impressive electrochemical performance, together with the facile synthesis procedure, may provide an efficient platform to integrate the TiO2 nanowire@Fe2O3 nanothorn core-branch arrays as a three-dimensional thin film electrode for lithium-ion microbatteries.

Aims:This study aim to gain insights into attitudes,acceptance and knowledge levels among family physicians toward homosexual people,which are important as they may affect care among this at-risk ***:An anonymized self-administered questionnaire in English was posted with the assistance of the College of Family Physicians Singapore in February 2015 to its 1529 members with self-addressed,pre-stamped envelopes for *** questionnaire included demographic questions such as age group,gender,religion,ethnicity,marital status and place of *** and scales that measured attitude,acceptance,knowledge and perception of colleagues who are homosexual were also included in the ***:451 responses(29.5%)were obtained,of which 441 were valid(28.84%).About 52.8%of participants were found to have negative,8.9%neutral and 38.3%positive attitudes toward ***(75.6%)were accepting of homosexuals,with 9.3%neutral and 15.1%not *** levels were poor,with a mean score of 6.9 out of a maximum of 13.A strong correlation was found between the attitudes towards lesbians and gay men(ATLG)and acceptance of homosexuals scales(r=0.69,P<0.001),with moderate correlations between acceptance and knowledge(r=0.54,P<0.001)and ATLG and Knowledge(r=0.54,P<0.001).Conclusion:Despite majority of family physicians having negative attitudes towards homosexuality,most are able to accept *** better education in sexual orientation in the medical educational curriculum,the increase in knowledge will lead to better care for people with homosexuality.
