Objective:To detect Dientamoeba(D.)fragilis and Enterocytozoon(E.)bieneusi and to assess their genetic characteristics in stool samples submitted for routine examination in a clinical laboratory in Southeastern ***:In this survey,348 stool samples from female and male individuals with age ranging from 0 to≥55 years were analyzed by PCR amplifying and sequencing based on the small subunit ribosomal RNA(SSU r RNA)gene of *** and the internal transcribed spacer of ***:*** and *** isolates were observed in 2.29%(8/348)and 4.59%(16/348)of the samples,*** parasites were detected in stool samples from individuals of both genders,including young children under nine until adults over 55 years *** statistically significant differences were *** *** isolates were classified as genotype 1 and *** isolates included genotypes D(n=15)and A(n=1).Conclusions:The findings provide relevant findings on occurrence and genetic diversity of *** and ***,pointing to the need for the diagnosis of these parasites in routine examinations in clinical *** addition to sensitive diagnostic methods,it is mandatory that these parasites be considered relevant for physicians and laboratory staff.

AIM： In order to characterize the qualitative and quantitative microorganisms in different sites of the lower digestive tract （LDT） in healthy volunteers, a specific technique was developed for collecting mucous of the distal ileum, colon and rectum. METHODS： A polyethylene tube was designed to go through the colonoscope channel with a No. 8 French tube. In order to avoid internal contamination, the distal extremity was protected with a membrane of microfilm after being sterilized in ethilene oxid. To facilitate the aspiration of a precise volume, its interior was coated with silicone. One hundred rnicrolliter （0.1 mL） sample of mucous was collected and transferred into an Eppenddorff tube containing nine hundred rnicrolliter （0.9mL） of VMGA-3 （viable medium of Goteborg）. This procedure was repeated at each site of the LDT with a new sterilized catheter. ResULTS： All sites revealed the ＂non pathogenic＂ anaerobic bacteria Veillonella sp （average 10s colony forming units/mL-CFU/mL）, allowing to conclude an environment of low oxidation-reduction potential （redox） in the LDT. It was also characterized the presence of Klebisiella sp with significant statistical predominance （SSP） in the ileum. Enterobacter sp was found with SSP in the sigrnoid colon, Bacteroides sp non-pigmented （npg） and Ecoli with SSP in the sigrnoid colon and rectum, Enterococcus sp and Lactobacillus sp with SSP in the rectum, all in a mean concentration of 10s CFU/mL CONCLUSION： This procedure is feasible and efficient and can point out a similar distribution of the aerobic and anaerobic bacteria with the presence of biological markers of normal microbiota in the LDT.

Nuclear spins are among the potential candidates prospected for quantum information technology.A recent breakthrough enabled to atomically resolve their interaction with the electron spin,the so-called hyperfine interaction,within individual atoms utilizing scanning tunneling microscopy(STM).Intriguingly,this was only realized for a few species put on a two-layers thick ***,we systematically quantify from first-principles the hyperfine interactions of the whole series of 3d transition adatoms deposited on various thicknesses of MgO,NaF,NaCl,h–BN,and Cu2N *** identify the adatom-substrate complexes with the largest hyperfine interactions and unveil the main trends and *** reveal the core mechanisms at play,such as the interplay of the local bonding geometry and the chemical nature of the thin films,which trigger transitions between high-and low-spin states accompanied with subtle internal rearrangements of the magnetic *** providing a general map of hyperfine interactions,our work has immediate implications in future STM investigations aiming at detecting and realizing quantum concepts hinging on nuclear spins.

Serrated adenocarcinoma is a recently described subset of colorectal cancer(CRC),which account for about10%of all CRCs and follows an alternative pathway in which serrated polyps replace the traditional adenoma as the precursor lesion to *** polyps form a heterogeneous group of colorectal lesions that includes hyperplastic polyps(HPs),sessile serrated adenoma(SSA),traditional serrated adenoma(TSA)and mixed *** are the most common serrated polyp followed by SSA and *** distinct histogenesis is believed to have a major influence in prevention strategies,patient prognosis and therapeutic ***,serrated polyps exhibited also a distinct pattern,with KRAS and BRAF having an important contribution to its *** other molecular changes that have been implicated in the serrated pathway include microsatellite instability and the CpG island methylator *** the present review we will address the current knowledge of serrated polyps,clinical pathological features and will update the most recent findings of its molecular *** understanding of their biology and malignancy potential is imperative to implement a surveillance approach in order to prevent colorectal cancer development.

Evaluation and modeling of runoff and sediment yield for different land covers under simulated rain in a semiarid region of Brazil

This paper quantifies the runoff and sediment yield for four different land covers in a semiarid region of Brazil. The WesP model, a distributed, event-oriented runoff-erosion model, was applied and its physical parameters, NSand KR, were adjusted based on observed runoff and sediment yield data using simulated rainfall with an average intensity of 53 mm h-1. The sediment yield obtained was 53.02 kg ha-1(caatinga vegetation), 231.96 kg ha-1(bare soil), 309.75 kg ha-1(beans), and 847.38 kg ha-1(corn). The results showed that caatinga cover yields the lowest erosion and runoff when compared to the other *** results also show that the sediment yield and runoff values simulated with NS, KI, and KR parameters were well calibrated, within acceptable deviations. The caatinga vegetation was more effective in protecting the soil, when compared to the other types of coverage. The beans and corn covers had the highest values of runoff and sediment yield, even higher than those observed for bare soil.

BACKGROUND Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency(AATD)is a codominant autosomal hereditary condition that predisposes patients to the development of lung and/or liver disease,and Pi*Z allele is the most clinically relevant *** To evaluate the impact of clinical parameters and AATD phenotypes,particularly the Pi*Z allele,in liver *** Cross-sectional cohort study including consecutive patients with AATD followed in Pulmonology or Hepatology *** Included 69 patients,49.3%had Pi*MZ phenotype and 10.1%Pi**** age≥55 years,age at diagnosis≥41 years and AAT at diagnosises mellitus(DM),dyslipidaemia,metabolic syndrome,and regular alcohol consumption were more likely to have a NFS not excluding advanced fibrosis(Pes more likely to have liver stiffness measurement≥7.1 kPa(P=0.040).CONCLUSION Risk factors for liver disease in AATD included an age≥50 years,age at diagnosis≥41 years,metabolic risk factors,regular alcohol consumption,at least one Pi*Z allele,and AAT value at diagnosis<77 mg/*** created an algorithm for liver disease screening in AATD patients to use in primary care,selecting those to be referred to Hepatology consultation.
