Arsenic(As)contamination is one of the major factors that contribute to environmental pollution,and it plays havoc with sustainability of crop ***-hydroxyapatite(nHAP)can be an effective phosphorus(P)source to cope with As *** mitigating effects of variable P sources on As toxicity in rice,sunflower,and maize grown in an alkaline soil were *** was applied at 0 and 20 mg kg^(-1),and P was applied at 0,50,and 500 mg kg^(-1)in the forms of triple superphosphate(TSP)and *** addition,the same amount of phosphoric acid was also used in the sunflower and maize experiments with the other P *** structural and functional properties of nHAP were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and energy-dispersive X-ray *** growth was observed in rice,and less in sunflower;maize remained unaffected by As *** the presence of As,TSP and nHAP at their high doses(500 mg kg^(-1))significantly increased the rice dry weight compared with the control(0 mg kg^(-1)).The As concentration in rice was decreased by approximately 25%in the presence of 50 mg kg^(-1)TSP and 500 mg kg^(-1)*** P treatments had no significant effect on the As concentration in sunflower,whereas the As concentration in maize was increased by 500 mg kg^(-1)*** the absence and presence of As,nHAP at 50 mg kg^(-1)significantly increased rice P concentration,whereas in the presence of As,500 mg kg^(-1)TSP significantly increased P concentration in rice compared with the *** had no significant effect on sunflower P concentration,while the maize P concentration was decreased in the 0 mg kg^(-1)P *** can be concluded that TSP and nHAP were effective in alleviating As toxicity in rice and *** studies are further needed to determine the long-term effects of TSP and nHAP on prevention of As toxicity in field conditions.

BACKGROUND Fascioliasis is caused by watercress and similar freshwater plants or drinking water or beverages contaminated with metacercariae. Fascioliasis can radiologically mimic many primary or metastatic liver tumors. Herein, we aimed to present the treatment process of a patient with fascioliasis mimicking colon cancer liver metastasis. CASE SUMMARY A 35-year-old woman who underwent right hemicolectomy due to cecum cancer was referred to our clinic for management of colon cancer liver metastasis. Both computed tomography and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography revealed several tumoral lesions localized in the right lobe of the liver. After a 6-course FOLFOX (folinic acid, fluorouracil, oxaliplatin) and bevacizumab regimen, the hypermetabolic state on both liver and abdominal lymph nodes continued, and chemotherapy was extended to a 12-course regimen. The patient was referred to our institute when the liver lesions were detected to be larger on dynamic liver magnetic resonance imaging 6 weeks after completion of chemotherapy. Right hepatectomy was performed, and histopathological examination was compatible with fascioliasis. Fasciola hepatica IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was positive. The patient was administered two doses of triclabendazole (10 mg/kg/dose) 24 h apart. During the follow-up period, dilatation was detected in the common bile duct, and Fasciola parasites were extracted from the common bile duct by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Triclabendazole was administered to the patient after ERCP. CONCLUSION Parasitic diseases, such as those caused by Fasciola hepatica, should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of primary or metastatic liver tumors, such as colorectal cancer liver metastasis, in patients living in endemic areas.

This study describes thermal behavior of magnetic lubricant oil under electromagnetic induction. Experimental set up include oil pump, oil tank, induction heating unit, and heat exchanger. It is a closed loop system where the oil pump circulates oil through oil tank to the system, at the same time induction heating unit heats up to the heat exchanger where the lubricant oil thermal behavior is examined. The unit has been largely studied and tested both magnetic and regular motor oil in a laboratory environment and promising results have been obtained for an actual indoor floor to space heating system design.

目的:报告1例男性患者合并有匹克威克综合征和阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停(OSA),其临床表现为假性脑瘤和视力下降。方法:病例报告。结果:患者,男,54岁,过度肥胖,诉双眼视力渐降3mo,检查示:视力:右眼20/200,左眼20/400,左眼合并色觉异常,眼底镜示双视乳头水肿和视盘旁出血,左眼合并黄斑部渗出。体格检查和实验室检查符合阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停与匹克威克综合征诊断。腰椎穿刺:开放压350mmHg,脑部扫描正常。诊断:OSA和匹克威克综合征相关性假性脑瘤。眼底表现和视力随采血治疗、血压控制、体重控制及双层正压通气治疗而改善。结论:对于患有假性脑瘤的患者,必须对阻塞性睡眠呼吸暂停与匹克威克综合征有所警惕。
