this study aims to examine the time-varying efficiency of the turkish stock market’s major stock index and eight sectoral indices,including the industrial,financial,service,information technology,basic metals,tourism,real estate investment,and chemical petrol plastic,during the COVID-19 outbreak and the global financial crisis(GFC)within the framework of the adaptive market *** study employs multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis to illustrate these sectors’multifractality and short-and long-term *** results show that all sectoral returns have greater persis-tence during the COVID-19 outbreak than during the ***,the real estate and information technology industries had the lowest levels of efficiency during the GFC and the COVID-19 ***,the fat-tailed distribution has a greater effect on multifractality in these *** results validate the conclusions of the adaptive market hypothesis,according to which arbitrage opportunities vary over time,and contribute to policy formulation for future outbreak-induced economic crises.

Liposome, albumin and polymer polyethylene glycol are nanovector formulations successfully developed for anti-cancer drug delivery. there are significant differences in pharmacokinetics, efficacy and toxicity between pre- and post-nanovector modification. the alteration in clinical pharmacology is instrumental for the future development of nanovector-based anticancer therapeutics. We have reviewed the results of clinical studies and translational research in nanovectorbased anti-cancer therapeutics in advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma, including nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel and nanoliposomal irinotecan. Furthermore, we have appraised the ongoing studies incorporating novel agents with nanomedicines in the treatment of pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

High-strength bainitic steels have created a lot of interest in recent times because of their excellent combination of strength,ductility,toughness,and high ballistic mass *** steels have great potential in the fabrication of steel armor *** various approaches and methods have been conducted to utilize the retained austenite(RA)in the bainitic matrix to control mechanical properties,very few attempts have been conducted to improve ballistic performance utilizing transformationinduced plasticity(tRIP)*** this study,high-strength bainitic steels were designed by controlling the time of austempering process to have various volume fractions and stability of RA while maintaining high *** dynamic compressive and ballistic impact tests were conducted,and the relation between the effects of tRIP on ballistic performance and the adiabatic shear band(ASB)formation was *** results show for the first time that an active tRIP mechanism achieved from a large quantity of metastable RA can significantly enhance the ballistic performance of high-strength bainitic steels because of the improved resistance to ASB ***,the ballistic performance can be effectively improved by a very short austempering time,which suggests that the utilization of active tRIP behavior via tuning RA acts as a primary mechanism for significantly enhancing the ballistic performance of high-strength bainitic steels.

AIM: to evaluate susceptibility of Helicobacter pylori to amoxicillin and clarithromycin in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients and non-uremic controls. MEtHODS: the subjects with dyspeptic complaints were 33 ESRD patients and 46 age- and sex-matched non-uremic controls who exhibited H pylori on antral biopsy specimens. the two groups were age and sex matched. the H pylori strains' pattern of susceptibility to amoxicillin and clarithromycin was investigated with the agar dilution technique. RESULtS: None of the H pylori strains from either group showed resistance to amoxicillin with the agar dilution method. twelve (36.4%) of the ESRD group strains and 7 (15.2%) of the control group strains showed resistance to clarithromycin, and this difference was statistically significant (Ptance to amoxicillin does not appear to be an important problem in H py/ori-infected ESRD and non-uremic patients in our region. In contrast, the rates of resistance to clarithromycin are high, particularly in the ESRD population.

Short-term effect of topical brinzolamide-timolol fixed combination on ocular surface of glaucoma patients

AIM: to evaluate the short-term effect of the fixed combination of brinzolamide-timolol on the ocular surface in glaucoma patients. MEtHODS: this is a prospective study of 23 eyes of 23 patients with newly diagnosed glaucoma. Schirmer Ⅰ test, tear break-up time (BUt) measurement, conjunctival impression cytology and central corneal thickness (CCt) measurements were performed in one of the eyes of each patients before and 4 weeks after brinzolamide-timolol fixed combination therapy. All patients were asked to answer the OSDI questionnaire form about the ocular surface symptoms at baseline and at 1 week and 4 weeks follow-up visits. RESULtS: After brinzolamide-timolol fixed combination theraphy, Schirmer Ⅰ, BUt and CCt values decreased but the only statistically significant decrease was seen in BUt test (P =0.03). OSDI scores increased during the follow-up but this increase was not statistically significant (P =0.22, P = 0.42 respectively). Impression cytology findings ranged from 0.78±0.42 to 0.95±0.36 according to the Nelson classification. there was no statistically significant difference between baseline and 4 weeks follow up in impression cytology grades (P =0.15). CONCLUSION: the results of our study indicate that short-term use of brinzolamide-timolol fixed combination theraphy does not have a profound effect on ocular surface except BUt values.

AIM:to evaluate certain anthropometric,clinical and laboratory features indicating liver fibrosis in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and to establish the noninvasive markers for liver ***:Eighty-one patients (40 male,41 female) who were diagnosed with fatty liver by ultrasonographic examination and fulfilled the inclusion criteria participated in the ***,anthropometric,clinical and laboratory features of all cases were recorded and then liver biopsy was performed after obtaining patient ***,necroinflammation and liver fibrosis were examined according to age ≥ 45,gender,body mass index,central obesity,aspartate amino-transferase (ASt)/alanine aminotransferase (ALt)>1,γ-glutamyltransferase (GGt)/ALt>1,platelet count,insulin,c-peptide levels and the presence of hypertension,diabetes,hypertriglyceridemia and insulin ***:Eighty-one patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) enrolled in the study.69 of 81 patients were diagnosed with NASH,11 were diagnosed with simple fatty liver and 1 was diagnosed with ***/ALt>1,GGt/ALt>11,high serum ferritin and fasting insulin levels,the presence of diabetes,hypertension,hypertriglyceridemia and insulin resistance seemed to enhance the severity of steatosis,necroinflammation and fibrosis but these results were not statistically ***:Liver steatosis and fibrosis can occur in individuals with normal *** was no significant concordance between severity of liver histology and the presence of predictors for liver fibrosis including metabolic risk factors.
