the aim of this study was to investigate proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy metabolite values in the medial prefrontal cortex of individuals with euthymic bipolar disorder. the subjects consisted of 15 patients with euthymic bipolar disorder type I and 15 healthy controls. We performed proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy of the bilateral medial prefrontal cortex and measured levels of N-acetyl aspartate, choline and creatine. Levels of these three metabolites in the medial prefrontal cortex were found to be lower in patients with bipolar disorder compared with healthy controls. A positive correlation was found between illness duration and choline levels in the right medial prefrontal cortex. Our study suggests that during the euthymic period, there are abnormalities in cellular energy and membrane phospholipid metabolism in the medial prefrontal cortex, and that this may impair neuronal activity and integrity.

Identifying the structure of protected mountain ecosystems is an important task for understanding conservation sustainability. the study area, the Firtina Valley, located in the Rize City on the Eastern Blacksea Coast, is one of the biological hotspots and a National Park of turkey. In order to identify the structure of mountain ecosystems, we generated a GIS database for the main environmental parameters of the study area, including elevation,slope and aspect layers for topographic structure, 10year mean values of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI), data for vegetation structure, annual mean temperature and precipitation layers for climatic structure, main soil groups for soil structure and stream flow accumulation, stream flow length and stream order layers for hydrological *** identify the complex relations among environmental factors in the study area a data reduction method is applied with Principal Component Analysis(PCA). PCA is performed using data of 16 layers from Geographical Information Systems(GIS). PCA analysis reduced 16 dimensions into 5 dimensions containing 75% of the variation in all data. It is also revealed that the topographic structure, mainly altitude, dominates the ecosystems of the Firtina Valley, but it should be considered that the interactions of environmental factors in an ecosystem dynamics are very complex. the ecosystem structure is determined by the environmental factors direct or indirect effects on energy regulation of an ecosystem. therefore the relationship between topographic elements and other abiotic-biotic elements in the Firtina Valley are important for environmental assessment and sustainability of a protected area, and these effects are explained in this study.

Nowadays,using biopolymer as a ground improvement method has become very ***,since biopolymers are organic and degradable,their long-term effect is not fully *** this study,the effects of biopolymers on the mechanical behavior of kaolin clay were investigated through a comprehensive program of *** types of biopolymer,*** gum and guar gum were chosen to investigate the effect of biopolymer *** this purpose,specimens were prepared using standard Proctor energy at four different water contents(25%,30%35%and 40%)with 0.5%,1%,1.5%and 2%biopolymer *** specimens were cured for 1 d,7 d,28 d and 90 ***,some of the specimens were kept in the curing room for 3 years to observe the long-term effect of the *** the end of the curing periods,the specimens were subjected to unconfined compression test,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis was performed to observe the mechanism of strength *** results revealed that the unconfined compressive strength(UCS)of the specimens treated with biopolymers increased in all biopolymer inclusion levels and water contents up to a 90-d curing *** specimens containing xanthan gum,the maximum strength increase was observed at 25%water content and 2%xanthan gum with 90-d *** strength increased 5.23 times induced by xanthan gum addition when compared to the pure ***,the increase in strength reached 8.53 times in specimens treated with guar ***,increasing water content caused more ductile behavior,thus increasing the axial deformation.

Advanced connectivity in substations brings along cybersecurity considerations. Especially, the use of standardized data objects and message structures stipulated by IEC 61850 makes them much more vulnerable to unauthorized access and manipulation. In order to tackle these vulnerabilities, different methods are investigated by researchers all over the world. An important aspect of such efforts is the real-time performance consideration since power systems are bound by the rules of physics and all control/communication tasks need to be completed in a certain time frame. Security schemes for substation communication have been proposed in the recent literature. However, they must be improved to ensure a full security solution. Recently published IEC 62351 standard aims to fill this gap. Node authentication is vital for substation communication networks based on IEC 61850 to mitigate a variety of attacks such as man-in-the-middle(MItM) attack. this short communication presents a node authentication mechanism based on transport layer security(tLS) with certificates to address this knowledge gap. It also investigates the real-time performance by implementing the proposed scheme with Python.

Electrochemical and corrosion behaviour of reinforced steel embedded in cement pastes incorporating different amounts of silica fume as a partial replacement of cement has been studied in chloride and sulphate solutions by using different electrochemical techniques. the results indicate that, while steel passivity degree is low in the control samples' upon soaking in the corrosive media, it has been high in samples incorporating silica fume and increased with increasing silica fume content. the improvement effect of silica fume may be attributed to the pore solution structure of the cement paste, which limits the mobility of aggressive ions near the surface of the steel. the mechanism of steel corrosion due to chloride and sulphate attack and passivation effect of silica fume are discussed.

Al-Andalus mortar is an ancient binding material （lime mortar） that was used for centuries in numerous historical buildings in Al-Andalus, Granada （Spain）. the physico-chemical and microscopic properties of Al-Andalus mortars in Granada were studied as part of an investigation into the mineral raw materials present in the territory of Spain. Scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction analyses of eight main types of mortars were performed to show the presence of calcite, gypsum, quartz, and muscovite minerals with organic fibers. Chemical analyses of the specimens showed that high SiO2＋Al2O3 ＋ Fe2O3 contents yielded high values of hydraulicity and cementation indices. A significant result of this study was that mortars with high hydraulicity and cementation indices have high mechanical strengths. this characteristic may be the main reason for the earthquake resistance of the historical Alhambra Palace.

the dispersion relation of torsional wave in a dissipative,incompressible cylindrical shell of infinite length incorporating initial stresses effects is *** governing equation and closed form solutions are derived with the aid of Biot’s *** velocity and damping of torsional wave are obtained analytically and the influences of dissipation and initial stresses are studied in *** proposed a new method for obtaining the phase and damping velocities of torsional wave in a complex *** results analyzing the torsional wave propagation incorporating initial stress effects are analyzed and presented in *** analytical and numerical solutions reveal that,the dissipation as well as the initial stresses have notable impacts on the phase velocity of torsional wave in a pre-stressed dissipative cylindrical *** numerical results reveal that,the initial stresses and dissipation,considerably,effect the phase velocity of the torsional *** has been observed that,any change in dissipation parameter(δ)produces a substantial change in damping velocity of torsional *** addition,it can be seen that,the phase velocity increases as the initial stress parameter ***,the result of numerical simulation illustrated the influence of dissipation and initial stresses on damping and phase velocities of torsional wave *** conclusion made shown the consistency with the Biot’s incremental deformation theory,and the effective on model such as engineering mechanics and displacement of particles.

AIM: to examine the possible ameliorative effect of breastfeeding and the uptake of human colostrum against coeliac disease in autistic rats. MEtHODS: Female rats were fed a standard diet and received a single intraperitoneal injection of 600 mg/kg sodium valproate on day 12.5 after conception. In study 1, neonatal rats were randomly subjected to blood tests to investigate autism. In study 2, the 1st group was fed by the mother after an injection of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and administration of gliadin. the pups in the 2nd group were prevented from accessing maternal milk, injected IFN-γ, administered gliadin, and hand-fed human colostrum. the normal littermates fed by the table mothers were injected with physiological saline and served as normal controls in this ***: the protein concentration was higher in group 2 than in group 1 in the duodenum (161.6 ± 9 and 135.4 ± 7 mg/g of tissue, respectively, P t increase (P t was detected in human colostrum-treated pups on post natal day (PND) 7 and 21 vs suckling pups in group 1. A delay in eye opening was noticed in the treated rats in group 1 on PND 13 compared with the control group and group 2. Administration of a single intraperitoneal injection of 600 mg/kg sodium valproate on day 12.5 after conception resulted in significantly reduced calcium and vitamin D levels in study 1 compared with the control groups (P trum uptake inhibited increases in the level of transglutaminase antibody in autistic pups with coeliac disease. CONCLUSION: the effects of early-life nutrition and human colostrum on the functional maturation of the duodenal villi in autistic rats with coeliac disease that might limit or prevent the coeliac risk with autism.
