Fibres from a variety of sources are a common constituent of pig feeds. They provide a means to utilise locallyproduced plant materials which are often a by-product of the food or drink industry. The value of a high fibre diet in terms of producing satiety has long been recognised. However the addition of fibre can reduce feed intake, which is clearly detrimental during stages of the production cycle when nutrient needs are high, for example in growing piglets and during lactation. More recently, fibre has been found to promote novel benefits to pig production systems,particularly given the reduction in antimicrobial use world-wide, concern for the welfare of animals fed a restricted diet and the need to ensure that such systems are more environmentally friendly. For example, inclusion of dietary fibre can alter the gut microbiota in ways that could reduce the need for antibiotics, while controlled addition of certain fibre types may reduce nitrogen losses into the environment and so reduce the environmental cost of pig *** particular potential value is the opportunity to use crude fibre concentrates as ’functional’ feed additives to improve young pig growth and welfare. perhaps the greatest opportunity for the use of high fibre diets is to improve the reproductive efficiency of pigs. increased dietary fibre before mating improves oocyte maturation, prenatal survival and litter size; providing a consumer-acceptable means of increasing the amount of saleable meat produced per sow. The mechanisms responsible for these beneficial effects remain to be elucidated. However, changes in plasma and follicular fluid concentrations of key hormones and metabolites, as well as effects of the hypothalamic satiety centre on gonadotrophin secretion and epigenetic effects are strong candidates.

The Aedes(Ae.)aegypti and *** mosquitoes are vectors of epidemiologically relevant arboviruses in the public health context,such as the dengue,Zika and chikungunya *** the alternatives to synthetic insecticides for the control of these vectors,the use of natural plant products deserves *** review summarizes findings on the larvicidal potential of plant extracts on *** and ***,as well as the potential of isolated compounds from plants of the Annonaceae and piperaceae families against these *** related to larvicidal activity of plant extracts and isolated compounds in Aedes *** the Web of Science database were used,for plant extracts considering publications between 2000 and 2019.A total of 859 articles were analyzed for plant extracts and estimates of lethal concentration values(LC50 and LC90).in the end,95 articles that presented the larvicidal potential of 150 plant species from 52 families were *** two families most studied for this activity were Fabaceae and Asterace *** plant families with the best LC50 values against mosquitoes were piperaceae and *** activity of 50 acetogenins has already been identified on ***,and 29 of them presented LC50 below 10μg/mL,as well as the larvicidal activity of 8 compounds isolated from ***,plants of these two families are promising for the development of commercial botanical larvicides in the form of extracts and isolated substances,as well as the production via organic synthesis of the most active compounds.

CdSe is a widely researched material for photovoltaic applications. One of the most important parameters of the synthesis is the pH value, since it determines the kinetics and the mechanism of the reaction and in consequence, the optical and morphological properties of the products. We present the synthesis of CdSe in solution with strict control of pH and the comparison of ammonia and KOH as alkaline sources and diluted HCi as acid medium. CdSe formation was monitored with photoluminescence emission spectra （main peak in 490 nm, bandgap of CdSe nanoparticles）. XRD patterns indicated that CdSe nanoparticles are mainly of cubic structure for ammonia and HCi, but the hexagonal planes appear with KOH. product yield decreases with pH and also decreases with KOH at constant pH value since ammonia has a double function, as complexing agent and alkaline source. Changes in morphology were observed in SEM images as well with the different alkaline source. The effect of alkaline sources on photovoltaic performance of hybrid organic solar cells with CdSe and poly（3-hexylthio- phene） as active layers was clearly observed, indicating the importance of synthesis conditions on optoelectronic properties of promising semiconductor nanomaterials for solar cell applications.

Molybdenum cofactor(Moco)biosynthesis is linked to c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)signaling in Drosophila through MoaE,a molybdopterin(MpT)synthase subunit that is also acomponent of theAdaTwoAcontaining(ATAC)***,weshow thathumanMpTsynthase and ATAC inhibited pKR,a double-stranded RNA-dependent protein kinase,to facilitate translation initiation of iron-responsive *** synthase and ATAC directly interacted with pKR and suppressed latent autophosphorylation of pKR and its downstream phosphorylation of JNK and eukaryotic initiation factor 2a(eiF2a).The suppression of eiF2a phosphorylation via MpT synthase and ATAC prevented sequestration of the guanine nucleotide exchange factor eiF2B,which recycles eiF2-GDp to eiF2-GTp,resulting in the promotion of translation ***,translation of the iron storage protein,ferritin,was reduced in the absence of MpT synthase or ATAC ***,MpT synthase and ATAC regulate latent pKR signaling and link transcription and translation initiation.

Over the past decade, significant improvements have been made in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C （CHC）, especially with the introduction of combined therapy using both interferon and ribavarin. The optimal dose and duration of treatment is still a matter of debate and, importantly, the efficacy of this combined treatment varies with the viral genotype responsible for infection. in general, patients infected with viral genotypes 2 or 3 more readily achieve a sustained viral response than those infected with viral genotype 1. The introduction of a pegylated version of interferon in the past decade has produced better clinical outcomes in patients infected with viral genotype 1. However, the published literature shows no improvement in clinical outcomes in patients infected with viral genotypes 2 or 3 when they are treated with pegylated interferon as opposed to nonpegylated interferon, both given in combination with ribavarin. This is significant because the cost of a 24-wk treatment with pegylated interferon in lessdeveloped countries is between six and 30 times greater than that of treatment with interferon. Thus, clinicians need to carefully consider the cost-versusbenefit of using pegylated interferon to treat CHC, particularly when there is no evidence for clinically measurable benefits in patients with genotypes 2 and 3 infections.

The L1014F mutation in the voltage-sodium channel gene has been associated with resistance to DDT and pyrethroids in various arthropod species including mosquitoes. We determined the frequency of the L1014F kdr mutation in 16 field populations of Culex quinquefasciatus from Northeastern Mexico collected between 2008 and 2013. The L1014F was present in all populations analyzed with the lowest frequency （3.33%） corresponding to the population from Monclova collected in 2012, and the highest frequency （63.63%） from the Monterrey population collected in 2012. The presence of a kdr mutation in populations of Cx. quinquefasciatus from northeastern Mexico provides evidence ofpyrethroid resistance. This requires a special attention, considering that pyrethroid-based insecticides are commonly used in vector-control campaigns, especially against Aedes aegypti （L.）.

Most demographic studies focus on numerical changes that occur within populations across ***,typically studies at an interannual scale do not provide information on the particular times of the year(particular months or seasons)when rates of survival,recruitment,or migration increase or decrease due to physiological,behavioral or ecological *** monthly or seasonal changes in demographic parameters may lead to substantial variations in population *** this study,we collected capture-mark-recapture data on 3 species of lizards of the genus Sceloporus(Sceloporus torquatus,Sceloporus grammicus and Sceloporus megalepidurus)found in ecologically similar habitats to examine potential changes in demographic rates among 3 different climatic seasons:rainy,cold-dry and warm-dry *** tested different hypotheses about the effect of these seasons on survival,recruitment of new adults,and temporary *** found that during the season with severe thermal constraints,the cold-dry season,survival of *** decreased *** also detected a considerable increase in the recruitment rate of *** during the rainy season,when these lizards are establishing territories and finding *** contrast,we found no evidence of intra-annual changes in the rate of temporary *** addition,we calculated abundance and population growth rates for each species and for each *** study represents a significant contribution to the understanding of intra-annual demographic variation in lizards.
