The.motion of a sphe.ical particle.re.e.se. in a swirling fluid flow is studie. e.ploying the.le.st-square. me.hod and me.hod of mome.ts. The.gove.ning e.uations are.obtaine. and solve. e.ploying the.two me.hods. The.accuracy of the.re.ults is e.amine. against the.re.ults of a fourth-orde. Runge.Kutta nume.- ical me.hod. The.e.fe.ts of various parame.e.s, name.y the.initial radius, initial radial ve.ocity, initial angular ve.ocity, and drag-to-ine.tia ratio, on the.non-dime.sional ve.ocity profile. and particle.position distribution are.conside.e.. The.re.ults show that the.radial ve.ocity incre.se. ove. time.while.the.angular ve.ocity de.re.se., and that an incre.se.in the.initial radial ve.ocity incre.se. the.particle.radial distance.and angular ve.ocity but de.re.se. the.radial ve.ocity profile.

‘Ste.t ve.sus ste.t＇ studie. are.a kind of randomize. trials which are.de.igne. to show the.supe.iority of the.ne. ste.t de.igns compare. with the.pre.iously approve. one.. The.e.studie. are.usually use. by re.ulatory age.cie., such as the.U.S. Food and Drug Administration （FDA）, to give.an approval to ne. ste.t de.igns. The.proble. with the.e.clinical trials is the.r high cost and difficulty. In this pape., a nume.ical alte.native.for ＇ste.t ve.sus ste.t＇ complicate. clinical studie. is pre.e.te.. A finite.e.e.e.t mode. is de.e.ope. to inve.tigate.the.influe.ce.of ste.t de.ign on the.outcome.afte. coronary ste.t place.e.t. Two comme.cially available.ste.ts （the.NIR and Multi-Link ste.ts） are.mode.e. and the.r be.avior during the.de.loyme.t is compare. in te.ms of stre.s distribution, radial gain, oute. diame.e. change. and fore.horte.ing. The.findings corre.ate.with the.obse.ve. clinical re.te.osis rate., which have.re.orte. highe. re.te.osis rate. in the.NIR compare. with the.Multi- Link ste.t de.ign.
