In this paper, a novel electrically conductive alumina/nano-carbon network (NCN) composite material was used as an electro- catalyst carrier. A NiCu/Al2O3 /NCN composite electrode was prepared by electrodepositing NiCu particles onto the surface of the conductive alumina/NCN composite. Morphology, composition, crystalline structure and electrochemical properties of the NiCu/Al2O3 /NCN composite electrode were investigated. The results showed that NiCu particles can be deposited onto the surface of the alumina/NCN composite by a coelectrodeposition method. NiCu particles in the form of solid solution with face-centered cubic (fcc) structure were relatively uniformly distributed over the carbon layer of the conductive ceramic between alumina grains. As-resulted NiCu/Al2O3 /NCN composite electrode had a remarkably enhanced electrochemical activity and high stabilization for oxygen evolution reaction, which indicated its potential application with enhanced performance to oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Moreover, based on the electrochemical measurement, the mechanism of the OER on the NiCu/Al2O3 /NCN composite electrode was discussed.

The continuum-discritized coupled channel method and the glauber model are applied for the description of deuteron elastic breakup and the stripping processes,*** with the conventional two-component exciton model for pre-equilibrium processes and the Hauser-Feshbach theory for compound process,an approach based on models is proposed to analyze the inclusive proton energy spectra of a deuteron-induced *** contributions from each process to the energy spectra of the 58Ni(d,xp)reaction are quantitatively *** results show that this approach is able to reasonably reproduce the experimental data of the double differential cross sections,energy spectra and cross sections,although further improvements are needed.

AIM:To investigate the safety and feasibility of our original single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy (SILC) for acute inflamed gallbladder (AIG).METHODS:One hundred and ten consecutive patients underwent original SILC for gallbladder disease without any selection criteria and 15 and 11 of these were diagnosed with acute cholecystitis and acute gallstone cholangitis,respectively.A retrospective review was performed not only between SILC for AIG and non-AIG,but also between SILC for AIG and traditional laparoscopic cholecystectomy (TLC) for AIG in the same ***:Comparison between SILC for AIG and nonAIG revealed that the operative time was longer in SILC for AIG (97.5min vs 85.0min,P=0.03).The open conversion rate (2/26 vs 2/84,P=0.24) and complication rate (1/26 vs 3/84,P=1.00) showed no differences,but a need for additional trocars was more frequent in SILC for AIG (5/24 vs 3/82,P=0.01).Comparison between SILC for AIG and TLC for AIG revealed no differences based on statistical ***:Our original SILC technique was ade-quately safe and feasible for the treatment of acute cholecystitis and acute gallstone cholangitis.

Twisted bilayer graphene heterostructures have recently emerged as a well-established platform for studying strongly correlated phases,such as correlated insulating,superconducting,and topological *** this notion to twisted multilayer graphene heterostructures has exhibited more diverse correlated phases,as some fundamental properties related to symmetry and band structures are correspondingly ***,we report the observations of correlated states in twisted monolayer-trilayer(Bernal stacked)graphene *** phases at integer fillings of the moire unit cell are revealed at a high displacement field and stabilized with a moderate magnetic field on the electron-doping side at a twist angle of 1.45°,where the lift of degeneracy at the integer fillings is observed in the Landau fan *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of moire engineering in an extended structure and provide insights into electric-field tunable correlated phases.

Zirconia （yttria）-alumina ceramic nanocomposites were fabricated from different powders by spark plasma sintering （SPS）. One powder was a commercially available nanocomposite powder TZP-3Y2OA, consisting of 3 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia （3-YSZ） reinforced with 20wt% alumina, and the other, used as a comparison, was a conventional mechanically mixed powder 3YSZ-2OA, a blend made of 3 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia powder ZrO2 （3Y） and 20 wt% ,x-alumina powder. The effect of the sintering temperature on the densification, the sintering behavior, the mechanical properties and the microstructure of the composites was investigated. The results showed that the density increased with increasing sintering temperature, and thus, the mechanical properties were strengthened because of the increased densification. The nanocomposite powder TZP-3Y20A was easily sintered, and good mechanical properties were achieved as compared with the powder from the conventional mechanically mixed method, the maximum flexural strength and fracture toughness of which were 967 MPa and 5.27 MPa m 1/2, respectively.

In a convolutional neural network (CNN) classification model for diagnosing medical images, transparency and interpretability of the model’s behavior are crucial in addition to high classification accuracy, and it is highly important to explicitly demonstrate them. In this study, we constructed an interpretable CNN-based model for breast density classification using spectral information from mammograms. We evaluated whether the model’s prediction scores provided reliable probability values using a reliability diagram and visualized the basis for the final prediction. In constructing the classification model, we modified ResNet50 and introduced algorithms for extracting and inputting image spectra, visualizing network behavior, and quantifying prediction ambiguity. From the experimental results, our proposed model demonstrated not only high classification accuracy but also higher reliability and interpretability compared to the conventional CNN models that use pixel information from images. Furthermore, our proposed model can detect misclassified data and indicate explicit basis for prediction. The results demonstrated the effectiveness and usefulness of our proposed model from the perspective of credibility and transparency.

Experimental Analysis of Flow Structure in Contra-Rotating Axial Flow Pump Designed with Different Rotational Speed Concept

As a high specific speed pump, the contra-rotating axial flow pump distinguishes itself in a rear rotor rotating in the opposite direction of the front rotor, which remarkably contributes to the energy conversion, the reduction of the pump size, better hydraulic and cavitation performances. However, with two rotors rotating reversely, the significant interaction between blade rows was observed in our prototype contra-rotating rotors, which highly affected the pump performance compared with the conventional axial flow pumps. Consequently, a new type of rear rotor was designed by the rotational speed optimization methodology with some additional considerations, aiming at better cavitation performance, the reduction of blade rows interaction and the secondary flow suppression. The new rear rotor showed a satisfactory performance at the design flow rate but an unfavorable positive slope of the head-flow rate curve in the partial flow rate range less than 40% of the design flow rate, which should be avoided for the reliability of pump-pipe systems. In the present research, to understand the internal flow field of new rear rotor and its relation to the performances at the partial flow rates, the velocity distributions at the inlets and outlets of the rotors are firstly investigated. Then, the boundary layer flows on rotor surfaces, which clearly reflect the secondary flow inside the rotors, are analyzed through the limiting streamline observations using the multi-color oil-film method. Finally, the unsteady numerical simulations are carried out to understand the complicated internal flow structures in the rotors.

Influence evaluation of loading conditions during pressurized thermal shock transients based on thermal-hydraulics and structural analyses

The thermal hydraulic （TH） behavior of coo- lant water is a key factor in the structural integrity assessments on reactor pressure vessels （RPVs） of pressurized water reactors （PWRs） under pressurized thermal shock （PTS） events, because the TH behavior may affect the loading conditions in the assessment. From the viewpoint of TH behavior, configuration of plant equipment and their dimensions, and operator action time considerably influence various parameters, such as the temperature and flow rate of coolant water and inner pressure. In this study, to investigate the influence of the operator action time on TH behavior during a PTS event, we developed an analysis model for a typical Japanese PWR plant, including the RPV and the main components of both primary and secondary systems, and performed TH analyses by using a system analysis code called RELAP5. We applied two different operator action times based on the Japanese and the United States （US） rules： Operators may act after 10 min （Japanese rules） and 30 min （the US rules） after the occurrence of PTS events. Based on the results of TH analysis with different operator action times, we also performed structural analyses for evaluating thermal-stress distributions in the RPV during PTS events as loading conditions in the structural integrity assessment. From the analysis results, it was clarified that differences in operator action times significantly affect TH behavior and loading conditions, as the Japanese rule may lead to lower stresses than that under the US rule because an earlier operator action caused lower pressure in the RPV.
